Tell us where the Senator is, and how we can get him without another incident like this. Lambert steps closer to the arcanist, with sword and shield to his side. Despite his surrender, a small flame flickers into appearance behind the mage. Lambert doesn't want this guy to fake him out and attack his allies.

Roll Diplomacy for me if you feel it is warranted, P^3
The man stumbles over his words as he tries to answer you.
They've taken them to the warehouse! On the slums! We were hired to capture him and bring him there in order to transfer him to our employers! It's a big warehouse by the West Sea Dock, marked with an orange scimitar! They are supposed to meet our buyers there at dusk! And before you ask, I don't know anything about the buyer! Though I imagine it's the Fairborn. They've wanted their hands on old Stonehead for months since he won the election! You can get in through either the front door, which will be well guarded and trapped, or... no, you wouldn't want to go through there...
He looks up at you, and you see a withered face, drawn by the powers the man invokes without proper training or skill. He coughs, spitting up phlegm on the stones, before wheezing as he stares back at you. Untrained wizards like this, taught all the powers of a mage but none of the defenses, often succumbed to Arcane Poisoning.
So please, warriors, let me go! Go on your suicide mission...

Another way in, you say? Indulge me, I may just know what I'm doing. Lambert remembers his time spent training in the catacombs beneath the ruined temple of Pelor. He has a hunch the entrance may be through one of those many twisting paths.
Well, there used to be a smuggler's path below the city in the sewers. But the damned guards set loose rats- special rats. There are a lot of them- some big, some small. But they all come in hoards. The more... underhanded businesses in the area have stopped using the sewers because no one makes it through alive. Heard some kobolds moved in and set up shop, and now the rats obey them. Shows how stupid the Guard is- took the sewers from us decent civilized thieves and gave it to some vermin. But anyway, there's a smuggler's route through the sewers that comes up at an underground dock in a cavern. Like I said, it's been abandoned, and there shouldn't be any security there. A trapdoor leads right into the warehouse, in a back room.

"Hmm, great. I try to find a way to stay out of the fairborn's hair for a while, and what do I end up getting dragged into? The middle of another one of their operations." Erandan thinks to himself.
"Kill this one, then lets go track down our target."

Was waiting for more people response. Mutual bad, I apologize.
Just down the street! The thieves use any manhole, don't be shy! But then you just need to follow the water. It'll lead you to the rats... and if you survive them right to the docks. Then it's simple.
He looks around, trying to see your reactions.
So you'll let me go, right? I been right good telling ya all this. Coulda let ya go down there without knowin bout them rats and kobolds. So, let's just leave it at that. I'll give ya the gold I got for this job... nice bit a coin...
Your offer is generous, but your information is far more valuable then the tainted gold.
Lambert then searches for a nearby manhole and beckons the rest of the party once it is found.
Spoiler
Passive Perception if you need it. Also, opportunity for the "less morally inclined" PCs to make some extra gold.
"We ought not leave this traitor unbound, at least not 'til our quarry's found." Coshim ties up the prisoner's hands. "Shall we make him follow us from behind? Or be hidden, out of sight, out of mind?"

Erandan's lips curl up in a vile grin. "I say we kill him and take the gold. I'd rather not have him reporting back to anyone in his guild."

He will follow us bound, but no harm shall come to him. Lambert gives a stern look to Erandan.
The scruffy half-elf heaves the cover of the manhole off, it clanking on the road. He then squeezes himself and his armor down, small screeches being heard as the rust grinds against fresh metal.
