I started reading Erfworld a few days ago and I have to say it brought back some memories of the good old days of turn-based strategy games. It finally got to the point that I had to play a classic, so I went on ebay and purchased Warlords III Dark Lords Rising. Has anyone else felt this way?

This frequently happens to me, and I keep revisiting Heroes of Might and Magic type games. Then I remember why I stopped playing them and go back to other things. - Until another issue sends me to back to playing them again.

Heh, I keep thinking once more stats/rules are determined that an erfworld mod for battle for wesnoth would be awesome. Course thats assuming rob/jaime would allow this.

The brief summary of the Creative Commons License they published Erfworld under is that noncommercial use and remixing (e.g. things like the use of the images on the LOLerfs thread and avatars) are OK as long as Rob and Jamie are properly credited. Any sort of commercial use requires arranging permission.

what are the odds that someone made a StarCraft custom map of Erfworld?

Well, Warlords III DLR has a good scenario/campaign editor that you could probably use to create an Erfworld game (not for profit of course!). When I get my copy I'll see what I can do.

Gotta love Warlords3DLR. Funny enough, one of m< favourite strategies for campaigns was just sitting in my castle with three different heroes, all having different bonuses and letting the others attack thus giving me XP. Them when all heroes were max level and had between them all different bonuses Id just wipe one map after the other with the three heroes plus 5 strong, fast units.
Looks almost like our situation here. Well, from a distance.
I wonder where i got that game...

been toying with the idea of using the source i have for http://www.fantasyempires.net and remaking it with erfworld unit types and such.

then im reminded that i can't afford a server right now.
