Yes, tabaxi grappler. It's a thing
RFC1925: With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not necessarily a good idea.
Alucard (TFS): I do things. I take very enthusiastic walks through the woods
Math Rule of thumb: 1/X chance : There's about a 2/3 of it happening at least once in X tries
Actually, "(e-1)/e for a limit to infinitiy", but, it's a good rule of thumb

Re: PVP: Kuro vs. Rayedra
SpoilerIf Eldan wants some help now that his partner is dead, I could hop in, but seeing as how Niezck is gone, too, it seems like it's now a 1v1 fight. I'll just watch and enjoy.Last edited by Barbarian MD; 2009-06-03 at 10:10 AM.

Re: PVP: Kuro vs. Rayedra
MInd over body allows me to replace a fort save with a concentration check once per encounter, so I resisted.
My turn:
Swift Action: Walk on Air Stance (Gives me airwalk)
Free Action: 5 ft. Step
Free Action: Activate Shadowstrike for 5ft. Reach for one attack, and you lose your dex bonus (Weapon ability, 1/day)
Standard Action: Five Shadow Creeping Ice Enervation Strike (Heart, Legs)
Attack Roll (Touch ATtack)
(1d20+33)[35]
Damage:
(1d6+23)[29]
Sonic:
(1d4)[2]
Sneak:
(6d6)[23]
Bonus Damage:
(15d6)[59]
Dex damage:
(4d6)[13]
Strenght Damage:
(2d6)[7]
And also:
Fortitude save (DC 27), which you'll probably make anyway or:
(2d6)[10] Constitution damage and speed reduced to 0.
And another fort save (DC 28) or die.
Please check what of this you are immune to.Resident Vancian Apologist

Re: PVP: Kuro vs. Rayedra
I retain my Dex to AC even when flat-footed ... don't know if that helps ...
- Attack Roll (Touch ATtack) hits either way (I have only 31 touch AC)
- damage get resisted by 15 (DR). I'm guessing the bonus damage is additional damage, just like sneak attack... 96 damage. I fly in rage unless I crit my will save (1d20)[3]
- sonic damage get ignored (whoo hoo, protection saves 2 hp)
- Dex damage: 13? that hurt ... I'm down to 7 dex
- Strenght Damage: 7, that drops my STR to ... 60
(1d20+30)[40] (DC 27),
(1d20+30)[47] DC 28 or die
don't peek, its a note for me ... you see I'm less coordinated (dex loss), weaker (str loss), lost about 1/3 of my hp, and raging
Spoiler
hp: 172 left
str: 64 ; +52/+47/+42/+37 for 4d8+49
AC: drops 7 ...

Re: PVP: Kuro vs. Rayedra
No, Shadowstrike (it's in the Magic Item Compendium) specifically says that you lose dex, not that you are flat-footed. And yes, the damage is bonus damage.

Re: PVP: Kuro vs. Rayedra
OK, how far am I away from you guys? Doesn't matter massively, but hey ...
Fly 60ft towards you, and cast Wail of the Banshee on Rayedra.
Spell Resistance (If you have it) - (d20+24)[25]
Fort DC 33.
Then, using my rod of greater quicken, cast energy drain.
Spell Resistance (If you have it) - (d20+24)[37]
Ranged Touch Attack - (d20+12)[31]
Negative Levels - (2d4)[6]
Yeah, you're probably immune to both those effects, but I feel throwing more direct damage will just be a bit bland, plus Kuro can do enough damage on his own.Dragonborn Gnome avatar by the ever-lovely Derjuin!

Re: PVP: Kuro vs. Rayedra
blame Vox. he thought my character (a fighter 16/ECL+5) was bringing a knife to a gunfight. so I changed one of my spell like abilities (my template allows me to cast some low levels at will or high level spells 3 or 1/Day ...) to wraithstrike (allowing me to make all my attacks as touch attacks). cheese he called it(which I found ironic ... either I'm too weak or too cheesy?). so I changed it to Gaint size 1/day (a lvl 7 spell from complete arcane that changes my size, +24 STR , ...).
Now I'm a lvl 16 fighter, with STR 41, +24 from gaint size, +4 from rage* = 62
*: every time I take damage, I must make a will save, with DC the damage, or I rage like a barbarian of half my level. I must attack (if no enemies are present, I must make a will save to attack the scene instead of my allies ...)Last edited by qube; 2009-06-03 at 11:38 AM.

Re: PVP: Kuro vs. Rayedra
Actually, I think I just might be dead.
Death Ward functions only once per day. I'll be using that on your enervation.
As for the Wail of the Banshee:

Re: PVP: Kuro vs. Rayedra
Now, I'm dead before I even take damage from Kuro.
HOwever, since I wanted to test this all week:
I use Ultimate Parry on Kuro's second attack (I have no chance to counter the first.) If I roll higher on my attack roll, you hit yourself instead of me. It's mean like that, but then, it's also a ninth level maneuver.
I use Oncoming Storm Expertise to use -20 to damage, +10 to hit.

Re: PVP: Kuro vs. Rayedra
Surely it would be best to use death ward vs the death spell, and risk taking 6 negative levels?
