It was sooner a hint at the infernal relations V would shortly be entering into, but you can see how there are multiple interpretations. It's satisfying on so many levels!

I was further very impressed at how the characters' actions are mirrored as well. Redcloak and Hinjo are pointing; Redcloak and Hinjo get close-ups in the corner panels...

Ah. That makes more sense. And, on the mirror, there is a cleric or paladin and there is a zombie. But they are not mirrored. Hmm.

Edit: Oh, but the cleric and the cleric are mirrored.

The brilliant significance of the symmetry in 422. I hadn't noticed this until it was pointed out by someone recently. Take a good look at the order of the characters within the panels (the relation between O-Chul and the MitD is just one neat little piece of foreshadowing). It's nearly a mirror image.

It's a DnD joke; the spyglass is ridiculously expensive, being a noncombat, nonmagical item at 1,000 gp. So... the nifty pricetag.

That's amazing! I never saw that before! Roy and (fake)Xykon, Hinjo and redcloak, Ochul and MitD, And halabard guy and Hobogoblin! What a brilliant work!
And yes V and roaches, but not normal roaches, Hippie Roaches. Is this a reference to the recent non blasty changes V is going through?

Edit: Actually it is probably because there won't be a V counterpart in Team Evil until Tsuky joins. So there was no one who could take the slot.

Plus, the colours. Red roaches, pink text. Red robes, pink magic. :D

Sry, but I think you read things that are not there. Rich definitely wanted to show both sides, pre-battle, so to speak. Going from there to ideas of foreshadowing etc. is to stretch it IMO. Two sides, and both have soldiers, leaders and characters that interact and make plans etc. Amazing!

That there is no secret code is shown in that the number stick figures on both pages don't exactly match

The consistency of the symmetry and the appropriateness must mean that it was well thought-out. I am of the firm belief that Mr. Burlew knows quite well what he's doing with this story, and would likely place various foreshadowing clues here and there.

Wow, you're right! I did see that it was supposed to be similar, but not that it was mirrored character by character.

Yes, there is a peace symbol, but I think he was referring to a literal set of three question marks. "???" It is almost directly across from the peace symbol.

Maybe others noticed this, too, but I liked the other gravestones and epitaphs around Eugene's grave. I also like how they use multiple date ranges for resurrections.
