It's entirely true. I've seen threads with dozens of responses from people who are willing to trade hats for randomized weapons.

Fairly reasonable, since there will be more and more hats as time goes by, and random level weapons are just plain not available now.

I don't want to see the results after I trade away my lvl 69 Backburner, because whoever gets it is going to be the kind of person who wants something level 69 to attack people from behind.

I would like to play some killing floor with people tonight. How does one join the mumble server?

The client-side mumble documentation is somewhat.... lacking.

In general: download client, probably from http://mumble.sourceforge.net/Main_Page

Start up mumble and go through all the audio setup stuff. Eventually it will go to a server list. It actually pulls up some weird list of servers that takes forever. I originally thought the program had crashed. It just takes a long time.

Eventually you can add a new server. Name it whatever you want. For the address use mbl1.gameservers.com. For the port use 10047. For the username, make something up. Click OK. It should show up in your server list then.

At this point you might want to say and prayer and/or sacrifice an animal to the god of your choice. Click connect. Once connected you'll want to register your username. That's somewhere in the client toolbar.

Once you register your username it is always and forever linked to your mumble client certificate, so don't lose that (seriously, we have no way to recover it at all - there are several user-names that are variants of Valiant Turtle because I was playing with certs and lost one or two).

I have no idea if anyone is actually using it at all.

Dogmantra is frighteningly good at TF2. Either that or I am frighteningly bad.

I am quite good but I'm only really good at Medic and maybe Soldier a bit. And rocket jumps. I am pretty darn good at rocket jumps. The thing there was that I had a Medic and I was a Heavy so um... yeah. I'm going to stop before Djinn murders me right in the face.

I'm sure that you could take the soldier's sound files, squeak them up using Audacity, and then replace the weapon's sound files with them.

The real trick would be getting it to randomize the quotes.
