Jorje will also put his hand in front of one, a smaller one, and encourage it on. "A companion is always pleasant. Were it not for the fact that my clothing lacks pockets, I would do something similar. Be careful, though, centipedes are vulnerable to the cold." As are all invertebrates. That's why there's more spiders in a house in autumn/beginning of winter than any other time of the year; houses are warm.

"Looks like the brawlers are awake. Some of them at least," Avatar comments before clearing his throat in Raril's general direction. "Hey, uh, Raril? Do you think it's really a good idea to be shooting at random magy people while Vice is off wandering around doing his thing?"

Here's to hoping that the werewolf is still susceptible to reason.

One of the recently fed centipedes crawls up on Jorje's hand.

I will make sure a few of these are listening if she returns here. Perhaps they can learn something.

"I'll make sure to keep her warm." Lauretta says, pondering on adding a few pockets between her bodice and her skin so that the centipede can use her body warmth.

"I hear there's a clothes shop Inside which might be able to add pockets to keep her in." That is a very good idea. Jorje will stroke the centipede and smile at it. Because centipedes are a brilliant type of animal.

Morbit, the pigratlizard thing (for ease; it's actually got no lizard), will dash out of its hiding place to bite at Avatar's feet, aiming to draw blood. Given that it stands just under the knee of the average humanoid, it might be noticed. Also, since Avatar's body is constructed (I think), it might not bleed.

Friend runs closer to the fight as Raril moves and Avatar talks

"Werulf Raril, I pledge you to listen to what he says lest blood is drawn within the walls of a guest-giver!"

He say, as of murderously shooting a crossbow at a cat was such a big crime, cultural differences sometimes makes you wonder.

Avatar's body is indeed a construct, but it was created to mimic the physical form of material critters quite well. Which means it bleeds just fine.

Doesn't have any DNA to speak of, though. If that matters.

Thus Avatar is bit, resulting in a "GAH!" moments before he begins flailing his leg around. And beating at the odd critter with his staff in a bid to get it to let go and leave.

"Ooww! Leggo you pigratlizard thing!"

Flailing!

And bopping!

If it can absorb any abilities from Avatar let's hope the result isn't too absurd.

DNA isn't too important, so long as the body's organic. Which Avatar's probably isn't. The ability is magical, so biology doesn't matter as much as it otherwise would.

Morbit will let go almost immediately after biting, before dashing towards the cover of a table. It is bopped once, which appears to deflect it towards a different table and not much else. Probably the scales, but the blow might have broken some of Morbit's lightweight bones.

Raril turns to glare at Friend and Avatar, but keeps the crossbow trained on Reinholdt. "Why don't you just leave me alone and mind your own business?" The werewolf suggests in a low, angry growl.

Friend realises that the werewolf doesn't know a thing about basic medieval honour and repsonds deadpan

"Simple, you kill kit in tavern, I need to send you to rightful judgement, or death. Whichever you prefer"

He looks at the werewolf as if he was talking to a particularly dumb brute

"You understand?"

Aaand several NPCs are now taking bets on how long it will take for Friend to be plastered on the wall as a red smear.

Friend will find that the crossbow is now leveled at him. Raril's eyes flare red and he snarls. "Are you threatening me?!"

Friend looks at the crossbow, he doesn't like being this close to death, but he doesn't think it will help him to show it. Ergo why he continues the deadpan stare

"Mayhap, but I merely mean to only inform you what hospitality means to me and my people"

He shifts slightly, attempting to have a table between him and the werewolf

"We do not allow the murder of a guest, it is as simple as that"

It is clear that he has no magical way of avoiding the crossbow, but his code of honour keeps him from backing down. Those can be annoying at times.

And potentially lethal when your opponent is enraged and has no such moral system. Drow aren't too familiar with hospitality. As for murdering a guest, well, that wasn't unusual, you just shouldn't be quite this overt about it. But Raril wasn't concerned for propriety at the moment.

He pulls the trigger.

And looks to see if Alexis and/or Ivaz are still there.

Friend sees the trigger being pulled and leaps leftward to avoid the deadly projectile, if all luck is on his side and the bolt doesn't decide to magically follow his heart it should hit his shoulder and send him flying backward over a table and landing on the other side.

His sword lands in front of Avatar, embedding itself in the wooden railings of the stairway.

Most because she wants to get involved in the fight and her player doesn't want too.

Rebo would make a comment about Avatar coming out of dead-time, but it doesn't look like anything has progressed enough to really warrant it. Instead Avatar is busy standing there in wide-eyed shock.

"Raril! You shot him!" the fox-eared fellow exclaims.

As if that weren't obvious enough already.

Really isn't sure how to react. Still in something of a state of shock.

And now Zee finally manages to stagger back to her feet!

"Ugh..." the demoness mutters as one hand goes to her head.

Yannovick happens to enter the bar about now, the middle-aged human blinking as he watches. A robbery? Duel?

The man's hand drifts towards his inner coat, just in case it was the former. It was less likely, however, as that fox-eared fellow seems to know the shooter.

"And I missed." Apparently a not immediately lethal shot was a miss to him. The werewolf reaches for another bolt to reload into his crossbow.

Apparently Raril is planning on shooting him again, too!

Though he may have a bit of trouble accomplishing that.

Mostly because Avatar is now standing between Raril and Friend. He's sure Raril wouldn't shoot him. Pretty sure.

Probably.

"Raril, what the hell is wrong with you?" the fox-eared fellow demands. "You don't just go around shooting people with a crossbow! He didn't even do anything! It's like you've been..."

He suddenly trails off.

Previously he had been flailing his arms around. Those settle to his sides.

"Vice did something to you."

Charity wanders in. Long experience with the Nexus and particularly with Trog's causes her to automatically veer off from the brawl in progress to the corner booth most distant from it.

She didn't know if Alex would show up, but she'd told him she'd meet him here, so here she is.

"He crawled out of a hole in my chest is what he did!" Raril snaps. He was shaking now, shaking in rage, and was having a hard time getting the bolt to fit into the crossbow.

Serena staggers down the stairs, wearing nothing but a suit of thin, white under armour. Tears are flowing down her cheeks.

She walks by the bar and stops for a moment. The bottles Vice transformed for her were still there. With only a moments hesitation she grabs one and heads for the door.

Unless stopped she exits Trog's.

Having a being of pure naughtiness crawl out of a hole in one's chest would probably upset most people.

Seeing that Raril is having trouble with his crossbow Avatar steps forward and reaches out to put a hand over the werewolf's. Probably with the intent of pushing the crossbow toward the floor so it isn't aimed at anyone.

Don't want anyone else to be on the business end of that thing.

"It seems like he did more than just crawl out of you," Avatar begins. "It seems like he might have left something behind."

Dun dun dun?

Zee, meanwhile, is heading over to Friend with some convenient bandages! Probably plans on pulling the bolt out and binding the wound.

Alex walks in a few minutes later, followed by Ariel and Maya. Of course, nobody who's not looking for a pair of eyes in the floor won't know Maya's there. As usual, Alex is wearing his grey suit.
He looks around for Charity, drumming on his suitcase.

Charity gives a wave from the corner booth, just as Paige is bringing her a pitcher of beer and a couple of glasses.

"Try and ignore the brawl over there. It's best for everyone."

Alex sits down, Ariel still standing guard and watching Charity carefully, and sets his suitcase down on the floor.
"Unless they want to volunteer for minionship or experimental duties, I don't care. Now, what information did you have on this...Garrett kid?"

"You need to understand my position here. I'm a teacher, and I'm responsible for the safety of my students," Charity says. She pours a couple of beers and hands one to Alex. "I don't know anything about you or what you want with Garrett. If he was your kid, would you want his teacher telling a stranger information about him?"

Raril slowly lowers the crossbow, his anger now redirected to a new target.

"I'm going to kill him." the werewolf declares.
