    Default Ninja_Prawn's Ultimate 5e Abbreviation/Slang Explainer

Hello everyone! A recent thread about acronyms got me thinking, and I decided to compile a complete list of all the abbreviations and slang terms that get used on the 5e subforum. My intention is for this to be added into the sticky post, because the language on here can be quite difficult for newbies and the threads where people ask about things never seem to be very comprehensive.

Thus, here is a sortable, filterable spreadsheet with all the terms I could find.

Please let me know if there are any I've missed, or if I've got any of the definitions wrong. Note that this is intended to be a specific guide for this subforum, so I only want terms people actually use on here.

    sweet.
    Maybe DCA: Dice Camera Action
DPS: Damage per second. Not applicable to 5e because 5e not seconds-based, but I have seen it used on this forum, maybe just from habit.
THAC0: not a 5e term but definitely gets used on this forum.
There's some BEC thing that I don't understand. An early version of D&D.

Edit: And now I know what BECMI means! Thank you for adding it!

I'm pretty sure this is only used to either
    1) Say something is confusing and a horrible idea that needlessly complicates everything
    2) Talk about how old you are

Well, I added them all anyway. The fact is that people do sometimes use the word 'THAC0' on this subforum, even if they're only using it for comedic purposes, so newbies can still benefit from knowing what it means.

Rule 0 Have fun The most important rule of any game
Rule Zero is usually defined as "The DM is the final authority on the rules" or something to that effect.

my made up definition for a made up rule is better than your made up definition of said made up rule

The one that got me when I was new to D&D was "Gish". Perhaps you should add that even though it's not an acronym?

Biggest play I ever made: "I want to eat something over there." Anticipated the trope of "being able to move" that you see in all stories these days.

There's a Slang tab on the sheet that includes a definition for Gish and other good stuff

All dictionaries use made up definitions, by definition.

That said, the top results for "Rule Zero" on Google are all pretty similar. This isn't subject of great debate or confusion.
