I don't think there is, but you should totally start one. I'm sure lots of people would find that interesting.

I'm sure some sourcebook, somewhere, has rules for installing a magic weapon as a prosthetic.

Re: OOTS #1069 - The Discussion Thread
For the curious, here's what all those conditions do in 3.5. I actually remembered the gist of three of them.
-Dazed: Can't take actions, but no defense penalty
-Dazzled: -1 penalty to attack rolls, search, and spot checks.
-Stunned: Drop your stuff, -2 to AC, lose your dexterity bonus to AC, and can't take actions
-Staggered: You have taken nonlethal damage equal to your remaining HP. You can take a move action or a standard action, but not both. Yeah, this one is very niche.Steam ID: The Great Squark

Wooo! Elan! You rock!
:applauds madly:
As expected, Roy will not flee. But there is a crewmember able to hand him a cutlass...
... which proves to be less than effective. I guess it's a +0 weapon and none of Roy's feats work with it.
Things look bad for him. Hurry, Elan, to the rescue!

Re: OOTS #1069 - The Discussion Thread
That's a lot of spell slots down for the balloon. Is mending a cantrip in 3.5? That would make the situation a little LESS bad.
...Though how big of a CHA modifier would you need for at least 11 cantrip slots?
And in other news, Roy really needs to look into a glove of holding or something that would keep a weapon firmly in his hand. They fall out of 'em so easy, I wouldn't be surprised to hear he was called Butterfingers back in Fighter School.Avatar by linklele.

At least one of them is doing well.
Okay, maybe not well, but at least the balloon is fixed.
Time to save Roy. I'm sure Elan will manage that too."If it lives it can be killed.

Re: OOTS #1069 - The Discussion Thread
Since Elan is multi-class and we don't know if Dashing Swordsman progresses his spell casting, he might have only 3 cantrips per day, and maybe only 9 or 10 proper spells. A 12th (3 or 4 levels of DS) level bard would have 3 cantrips and 11 spells.
In other words, he could be out of spells or close to it.This ... is my signature finishing move!

Re: OOTS #1069 - The Discussion Thread
3.5 base Paladin needs to be LG. But in the default setting Paladins don't actually get spells from a god and thus can worship anyone they want.
IIRC Forgotten Realms requires Paladins to have a god and get spells from the god, but also has a large number of exceptions to the "one-step" rule for getting divine spells from a god (including IIRC it being possible for a LE and CG cleric to both be worshiping Mystra at the same time as she'd been killed, the replacement went from CG to LN or something, and retained all the old clerics even if out of step in alignment).
An Evil god having Paladins isn't all that much weirder. Also, there are published 3.5 variant Paladin classes for LE (Tyranny), CG (Freedom), and CE (Slaughter).
So the answer is: of course, maybe, maybe not, it depends, or something else.Last edited by Doug Lampert; 2017-03-30 at 05:08 PM.

Elan's growth throughout the series makes him my second favorite character and shows why he deserves the happiest of endings :-)

Re: OOTS #1069 - The Discussion Thread
Even at level 12, he'd get at least 4 more spells than you give him due to his 18+ Charisma.
Class and level geekery has him pegged at level 14 bard with 22 charisma (after items), this gives him 4 cantrips, 5 level 1, 5 level 2, 4 level 3, 4 level 4, and 2 level 5. In which case he's barely scratched his level 2 spells.
(Mind you, I think Geekery is off, they give him level 14 and 22 Charisma both so he can cast level 5 spells, and level 13 + 22 charisma is enough, which would cost him a level 4 and 5 slot; and he'd still have some level 2, and all his higher level slots available.)Last edited by Doug Lampert; 2017-03-30 at 05:06 PM.

Re: OOTS #1069 - The Discussion Thread
If she was any paladin-like class, it would presumably be a blackguard. The default frost giant jarl has blackguard levels. On the other hand, to say it from the other direction, blackguard levels are default for a jarl and, as she recently alluded to, she is far from being the leader of her tribe, however personally mighty she might be.

Re: OOTS #1069 - The Discussion Thread
Locked gauntlets have a downside - if Roy ever did acquire a ranged weapon it would require a couple of rounds to switch weapons.
Also, no one should be complaining about a stunned person dropping their weapon - that's part of the definition of stunned. You drop what you're holding, it lands in your space unless the DM rules otherwise (like you're fighting in water and drop a metal weapon). This ... is my signature finishing move!

In Panel 3, does anyone know what she meant about living and dying, and also about what Roy said about another couple of days? I'm afraid I don't know what they're talking about
