Well, that news definitely came as a surprise and a shock. I was glad to see lolthfollower as a new player who seemed interested in games, and he was definitely making an impact here and there in this one. I was looking forward to seeing what he would do next, and it looked like he had great intuition if bad luck. I... really don't know what to say here, but I hope I can do him justice with a death scene. My heartfelt sympathies to his family and friends, both on this forum and offline. He will definitely be missed, and I just wish I could have kept a good schedule for this game, so he could have finished it.

The man closes his mouth, rather confused.

The man nods slowly as the other turns and leaves the small room.

In the dark of night, an automobile drives by the light of street lamps alone. The headlights might be broken or simply off. The driver may have a mission or just be unlucky. Did the pedestrian just not notice, or did the car swerve to hit? Whatever the case, it was a tragic accident, and it came as a shock to many. Who was the driver? The police and gangs; nay, everyone in town strives to find out. Why kill him? Was there some unknown fault, some grievance? Who would do such a thing? That answer is as lost as the automobile, driven off in the dark of night...

The news took me by surprise, indeed. A strange death last night, no doubt about it. I mean, why would... wasn't he-? And here I thought... but no, it would seem I'm wrong. Or, are they trying to throw people off the scent? But that makes no sense! So... am I wrong? Who really is in control here? Is anyone? One thing's for sure: I have no clue what will happen next...

It's only been a month? she flops back onto her bed and sighs. I guess I should see what's going down at the Internet Flea market. Perhaps I can get a telescope for $35.

A moment later, a flood of nurses and a doctor swarm into Alexia's room and start doing medical stuff. Alexia is not happy with all the probing, prodding, and questions.

The Peddler tilts his head as if listening to something. "Ah." He puts a cigarette to his mouth and lights it, deep in thought as he takes a drag. "Pheh. A delivery, is it? Well, so long as I get the pay, I couldn't care less." After another moment of thought, he puts the telescope away for later, to bring to the nearby hospital.

I'm back now. Was out of town for the weekend but was expecting to have a chance to come and make a post. That ended up not happening. Probably should have just posted an away notice before I left, sorry all.

April 27th

Today, people were still angry about yesterday's death. Two men pointed at each other with backing on both sides, before another person brought out yesterday's paper and exclaimed that both were likely unaffiliated with any of the gangs. 'Why kill innocent people?', they asked. Sure enough, the mob quieted, but it's not like the deaths could be solved by letting potential killers live, right? They turned on a woman, whose name I can no longer recall. She put up a fight, but she was weary, as if after a long-fought struggle and resignation that it may never end. The noose was hung, and then it was taut, and the lady swung below. A missive and card picturing a cat were found in her belongings, pointing her toward being an influential member of the Mooney Gang, though I still can't imagine her being so cruel as to cause these deaths. Oddly, there is a strong sense of deja vu that I can't shake about her death...

Keeping my eyes peeled, I noticed much scurrying around town last night. However, despite the commotion, or perhaps because of it, I heard no gunshots. No cases were reported. No people were found dead. Has something changed? Or did they just take a break, hoping to catch us off guard tomorrow? I hope to find another lead, for my first seems to be shady, unreliable... Though, I did hear some disturbing information last night. Why would he? I hadn't thought him the type...
