Although he spoke to nopony in particular, Sek was wearing a sheepish look.

With Charger's implicit agreement, Igneous rose from where he'd been sitting. With a little hop, he clicked his fetlocks together causing the yellow rings of magic around his ankles to fade away.

Moving quickly, lest he receive yet another zap from the machine now that his redirecting spell was no longer in effect, he ignited his horn and detached himself from the lightning generator.

Hovering the sparking construct in front of him in a field of golden magic, he looked inquisitvely at Tinker.

"Where do you want me to put this, ma'am?"

Well, the sheer volume of RP, in-jokes, fanon, and so forth is rather intimidating from where I stand. Re-entering the community that is now so tightly knit together, I can't help but feel like I'm intruding... or at least that I'm a bit out of place.

Inkblot blinks as the hatch opens, and accepts the rootbeer, taking it in the nook of his foreleg and smiling briefly in appreciation. "Oh, thanks... I'm Inkblot, by the way... uh, say. How did you-- I mean, how did it get-- I mean... the pillow... nevermind." He takes a long gulp from the drink and briefly raises brows at the fizzliness... before taking notice of Candle Keeper and Midnight going at it again.

He groans and sets the mug down atop a conveniently sturdy looking table-pillow and wipes his mouth, moving to try and intervene again... hoping that this time things won't escalate and cause the reappearance of the unusual unicorn's bigger and scarier green magical alter-ego. "Uh, don't worry, Candles, he won't... lick her hoof... unless he wants to. And if he does, uh, well, I guess that's his business, right? She was just... talking loudly, not... controlling his mind or... anything..."

He trails off as "someone's" hoof emerges from the hatch behind the priest, looking again befuddled... he rubs the side of his head with his hoof a little, but decides against commenting, just rolling with it. "Uh, so... who's this 'patron' you're talking about, anyway? What she's doing is 'sketchy,' you said? Are you... an artist, maybe, and you have a patron back in Canterlot who wants you to... sketch her...? Like as a model?" He takes a stab in the dark at it and smiles awkwardly, apparently trying to break the tension between them by facilitating conversation.

I've been waiting for someone to ask about that!

Candles (who is still on top of Stacy's nose if I'm not mistaken) turns and looks at Inkblot, oblivious to the addition to his tail. A look of extreme focus appears on his face. "Oh! You want to know about The Patron? Well, I can tell you about The Patron!"

"When I was just a colt, a few days after this candle had appeared, I was sitting alone in the woods outside of town. I didn't have any friends back then; I was a pretty odd colt, and kept to myself. Then suddenly, out of the blue, a voice spoke to me! It introduced itself as The Patron, and told me it would be my friend if I promised to do what it said. I asked if it was good or not, and it said more or less. In retrospect that was probably a bad sign, but it was good enough for me back then."

"He told me how to enchant certain objects, and gave me instructions for crafting this amulet" Candles gestures towards the amulet around his neck. "It's sort of like a proxy horn, I think. It's very complicated. Anyway, I announced to the orphanage and the town around it that I was leaving, and they were so happy they got me a magical travelling coat robe thing! I was really happy with it, it grew to fit me and everything! So I left, and traveled to all sorts of places, doing almost everything The Patron asked. And now I'm here.

I feel the same way. Not through any fault of the pony thread or the brony community (an amazing group), but the pace of posting? It's intimidating. I've been pretty busy recently (and by recently I mean the last 4 months or so), and I don't have time to find out what's going on. Most of the time I try to post something, I get ninja'd by about half a page. And since I unfortunately don't have time for any of the RP content, a lot of the time I don't know what's going on. I've been here since thread one, I've written ponyfics (unfortunately fell by the wayside since then), and ponies are a big part of my life (could never imagine myself saying that a year ago), but it can be tough.
Yeah, not sure what I was getting at there. I'm certainly not complaining, like I said the brony community is amazing, but in some ways it's perhaps too successful.
