I would really like to see a game made by Obryn, Kurald Galain, and Knaight from these forums.
I'm not joking one bit. I would buy the hell out of that. -- ChubbyRain

Re: Movies you regret watching
Best thing about that movie was Christopher Walken's pragmatic villainy.
Thuggish brat: "What if this doesn't work?"
Walken: "We'll cancel the return ticket."

Re: Movies you regret watching
I thought George of the Jungle was a quite decent adaptation of the ancient cartoon, which I watched reruns of a lot as a kid. Were you familiar with the cartoon when you saw it? (Honest question, I'm wondering if the movie really depended on the cartoon to be watchable).

Re: Movies you regret watching
Then you know the gist of the movie as well. The only other reason to watch the movie is if seeing Brendan Fraser smack into things amuses you.
And to be honest, those scenes are probably all on YouTube.

Star Trek Beyond
Visually, it was very nice to look at. But everything else was just really bad.
But I think I should've known what I was getting into, since I was one of those people who didn't like Into Darkness.I'm a Lawful Good Human PaladinJustice and honor are a heavy burden for the righteous. We carry this weight so that the weak may grow strong and the meek grow brave

Re: Movies you regret watching
I'm also unfamiliar with the cartoon, so I can't say this with any degree of certainty, but I would imagine that simply doesn't bode well for the cartoon. Some old shows, like the Flintstones, aren't very enjoyable today. The jokes, while not horrible, aren't exactly stellar, either. Compare this to I Love Lucy, which has for the most part has had its humor age incredibly well, even if other parts haven't (the doctor confirming that Lucy was "with child," since they couldn't say "pregnant," and then immediately lighting up a cigarette comes to mind). If I ever see an episode I haven't seen before, I'm amazed if it isn't hilarious. I've never gotten that reaction from the Flintstones.
tl;dr - that just makes me want to not watch the George of the Jungle cartoon.Last edited by Peelee; 2017-09-13 at 04:54 PM.

I'd say Vengeance: A Love Story, with Nicolas Freaking Cage.
One of the worst movies I was ever unfortunate enough to witness.Last edited by Hrobar; 2017-09-13 at 04:59 PM.

Re: Movies you regret watching
Even worse then The Wicker Man (also with Nicolas Cage)? The 2006 remake obviously. I... did not care for it.
PS In my country they changed The Wicker Man's title. It was called something along the lines of "The Chosen One". They even spoiled us that trash.Last edited by Hrobar; 2017-09-14 at 11:44 AM.

Re: Movies you regret watching
For me, forever and always, it's American Beauty. I do not understand the tongue bath given to it by every single person I have every tried to speak to about this movie.
It is a movie about awful people doing awful things to each other that could have been resolved with one, maybe two, actual conversations. I literally - and I am not exaggerating - had to go to the restroom and vomit about halfway through. I only stayed for the whole thing because I was 17 and on a date.
I have watched bad movies. I have hated movies. But only American Beauty made me actually physically ill.Last edited by anonymsly; 2017-09-14 at 01:07 PM.

Re: Movies you regret watching
There are a lot of movies I don't like. 'Do I regret watching them? I suppose I do if I lower the bar for 'regret' substantially. Most recently:
Star Wars The Force Awakens. What a depressingly bad start to Disney SW movies. Not that the movie wasn't good, it's just that it was a polished remake of a better movie, showed creative and intellectual cowardice of the company, and a blatant, bad attempt at pandering to fans. The biggest issue was that my gf and I had a big argument about it afterwards. It takes a really bad movie to make us argue like that.
Ghostbuster (2016): What a waste of money and a couple hours. It was distinctly unfunny and cringe-inducing and I was bored silly throughout, but at least there was enough happening that it was less offensive than the next entry.
Les Miserables (the singy version): A solid and impressive first scene song which quickly degenerated into one of the most mind-numbingly boring and tedious things I've ever seen. I've seen stuff I've thought was worse but those I was able to make snarky comments, take breaks or do other stuff while watching it. With this I was forced to sit and hear everything and see everything. I will forever hold this against my girlfriend when she tries to get me to watch a movie with her for her sake.

Re: Movies you regret watching
I regret dragging my entire family to the the Thomas the Tank Engine movie as a kid. Though I think my dad wanted to bleach it out of his brain more than I did. I think I still have the DVD in storage somewhere. That movie was weird. Also my Aunt and I got bored and wanted to see a movie while I was visiting her so we saw the Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters movie. That was HORRIBLE, and was agonizing to sit through since I had read all the books.

Re: Movies you regret watching
Avatar. I liked it the first time I saw it but then some time afterward it struck me how pretentious and sanctimonious it is and how the plot is a ripoff of Fern Gully, except with the environmental preachiness combined with preachiness about how mistreatment of native peoples is bad, because apparently that's a relevant topic, I mean sure every single person involved in either the westward expansion or the scramble for africa died decades before I was even born but apparently that's still somehow a relevant topic to preach about.
