Irella Kymeri "Weak property has no value. The weak die, that is the way of things. Money does take a back place to ones belief. You would not run from a fight just as you would loose money, correct? Winning a fight is more important to you then some coins of gold.

Aluendale Maendellyn "Of course. Keeping secrets is a hard, full time task. Plenty of people find out. You just deal with it. Bribe people, threaten them, or kill them. Being a cleric does give you a lot of demand with other slaves, as you can heal wounds and other afflictions. Though there is always the risk of exposer. "

Then his brain rearranges the word and he says, "You mean the Slime God?"

Alton tries to recall what he knows, if anything, about a Slime God or Smile God.

He also asks, very politely, "Will I get my gear back when I return to the arena?"

"And why did you take my gear in the first place, if I may ask?"

And he asks, "Would I be able to buy potions and oils and elixirs that I can't get from the goblins from you, Mistress Irella?"

To Aluendale, he grumbles almost inaudibly, "At least I'd be able to use the flashier spells. But I prefer the secrecy. It makes me feel safer, and I prefer confusion to my enemies."

I don't sell cheap things and I'm not much for things such as healing, but sure if you have the gold I'll sell to you. I would not think you'd use poison though, it's not honorable and all that."

Aluendale Maendellyn "don't get ahead of yourself. You can't ever use flashy magic in the arena. It's one thing if your owner knows, and another if some other slaves know....but it is a huge problem if the arena operators, investors, slave owners, government types, and Red Wizards find out. Those are the bad ones. "

Alton thinks it over. Invisibility prior to battle seems a lot like murder to him, but Invisibility during battle would make it very easy for him to heal himself, if he was close to death. He could just keep drinking honey potions until he was back at full health.

"That would be fine. Could you meet me in the arena tomorrow, or even later today? I'd like to buy a couple of Potions of Invisibility."

"If you agree, when and where do I meet you?"

To soothe his conscience, Alton subvocalizes to Aluendale, "How does Lord Tempus feel about invisibility in battle?"

"Is it all right to invisibly attack an enemy who is already fighting one of your allies?"

"What about invisibly attacking an enemy who is just relaxing? Is that still holy battle, or does it fall into the purview of Bhaal, Lord of Murder?"

To sneak up on someone who is not ready is just murder and unworthily of a follower of Tempus. A lot of followers just avoid things like invisibility in any type of combat. It's just not worth the risk of looking weak or unworthy.

And invisibility is something they will blast you for in the arena....they want to see the fight.

Alton mulls it over. He thinks about changing his request from 2 potions of Invisibility to just 1.

Then he brightens. Even if I don't use them myself, I can sell or trade them to other gladiators at a profit. Now that I have a supplier from outside.

Pleased with himself, he grins and strides more briskly on his way.

As he walks, Alton looks around like a tourist, surveying his environment for new sights and sounds and oddities.

He comments, "I heard Lady Vesorianna has her own personal wizard. I guess he or she is not a Red Wizard?"

Alton feels an unusual sadness upon returning to the arena, but also a feeling of comfort. The outside is crazy, and he'll need to sleep some to assimilate all he saw and experienced.

Before she goes, he says, "Thanks for accompanying me, Irella. Where will I look for my gear? Who has it?"

He also says, "Oh, and I'd also like to buy from you a couple of doses of Oil of Silence, to blanket an area around the oiled target with a Silence spell. Would that be available, too?"

"Those are also 250 gold each, right?"

After he receives the information, he goes with the guards and searches for his gear. He feels too naked and vulnerable without his armor and weapons, though the holy symbol is a comfort and a blessing.
