Thanks, Giant, love the new team name. :) (That could have been)

Hmm, that doesn't sound dwarfish, it sounds like a cross between drunken Elvish and Welsh.

It says something about this forum that there were people who theorized this in the first place.

One of those things did happen at least once, but it's still a good strip. Nice to see Durkon's extended family too!

Re: OOTS #1088 - The Discussion Thread
First page! Last time I was this early, she left me.
Anyway, good to see Jerkon listening to his subordinates. I didn't totally expect that. But how is it that the vampire doesn't have a firm grasp on vampirism, and suspects Durkon can lie to him?

Re: OOTS #1088 - The Discussion Thread
Durkon is great.
And I wouldn't be surprised if the „banquet hall” memory is still some kind of trap, even if it isn't false."If it lives it can be killed.
If it is dead it can be eaten."

I get the feeling Durkon's vampire is gonna need to drink something stronger than blood, at this rate.

Re: OOTS #1088 - The Discussion Thread
Manipulating someone based solely on experiences they've had in the past seems like tricky business. Luckily, Durkon has lots of time on his hands... I wonder if time moves at a different pace for him.
Also, I'd be interested if Durkon failed to revisit his memory about the giant monster that decided to call the banquet hall home... hmm.
How can he "remember" a memory to not reveal without revealing it on the jumbotron? I recall some comics when Durkon was bored and was re-remembering thoughts of his mother. Perhaps displaying it was intentional? Or maybe he's just learned to keep his spirit thoughts to himself?Last edited by Bubble; 2017-08-03 at 02:20 PM.

I enjoyed the
Is that possibility something that someone had speculated here in the forum? This kind of joke always comes from someone saying "I wonder if Durkon has been feeding Greg with false memories", only for the Giant to utterly dismiss it with a pun.
Also, I can't believe I'm in page 1, or near it. I usually come by on updates at least when the thread is at page 6 or more.

Re: OOTS #1088 - The Discussion Thread
Sarcasm - the weapon of the powerless everywhere. Let him have it, Durkon.
And yes, there's something wrong with that banquet room. Like, for example, windows. Or it's used as a training space by the elite Order of Vampire Smiting Dwarves, who first defeat trees in mortal combat, then turn them into stakes. This ... is my signature finishing move!

I wonder if that internal tension on the vampire team is going to lead anywhere.
Also, does this mean we're going to hear Roy speak on the pompatus of love?

Hint in the name of the comic? "Hall Past"... not just because it's a memory but because the space itself is no longer what it was...

Re: OOTS #1088 - The Discussion Thread
I love how this section of the story is giving more details into Durkon's background and (likely) showing character growth on his part as well. It feels comparable to how Vaarsuvius came to understand the difference between being powerful and being effective. Loving it!
Also, loving the speedy updates. Please keep it up, Giant!

Re: OOTS #1088 - The Discussion Thread
It's pretty cool and easy to forget that, despite coming from mortals of the same faith, these 3 vampire spirits don't really have connections to one another. There is no camaraderie or trust, just servitude, willing or unwilling, to Hel. Also I'm starting to like that non-dwarf vampire. In addition to her no-nonsense approach, her armor is also just cooler than the others, I am now noticing.
The gate leads to the temple of Thor, not any fortress. Firmament itself is just a town.Even the wind will know agony.
