Would you please explain the concept of marriage to me? They mention it in this novel but I am unfamiliar with it.

Karyana snuggles down next to her, soon dozing off, unless something happens to prevent her.

The blood mage smiled after a while, resting her head on Aseti's shoulder.

"Do you want to go flying wiith us at some point?"

"Marriage is a social and/or religious contract, usually between two people, and often requiring monogamy, though variations with more parties are also possible."

She nods excitedly.

Eventually, Karyana will wake, still nestled as close to Zwei as she can be.

The vampire smiles at her.

"When?"

"What was the equivalent called for your people? If you had one, I mean."

[Beans]

Zwei yawns and smiles.

Ah... we don't.
The only thing barely close is the way we females often take on young women from other planes as "pets", though the reality is that they serve as a sort of combination of housemate, friend, and theraputic aid.

[Lady Serpentine]

"Morning, l'sani... Do you want me to get you some breakfast?"

[Forest]

"Do you want your own set of wings, or just for one of us to carry you?"

[Warehouse]

L'lanyaea nods thoughtfully, going to put an arm around Carciza.

"I see. Why was it that so many of you needed someone to act as a theraputic aid? Were things that bad where you're from?"

[Beans]

Well... yes, I suppose.

[Lady Serpentine]

Karyana smiles, and goes to slip out of bed, then head to the kitchen, to see what there is to make breakfast with.

She grins, and tries to grow Aseti a pair of wings, which, if it works, will match her hair color, for now.

[Warehouse]

The summoner goes to pull her into a tight hug.

"I'm sorry."

[Beans]

The kitchen is pretty big, with a well-stocked pantry; she can basically make whatever she likes.

She smiles, hugging back.

That was probably here, since they were in the Forest, but now there's a new instance of it.

But in any case, Talia smiles at Dani, and waves to her.

Dani thwacks her player!
Then waves back at Talia.

Karyana, in that case, will prepare a bamhacon omlette, with various vegetable and such in it, as well as a thing of eggnog, then takes both back up to Zwei.

Karyana grins, watching her reaction with mild amusement.

"I take it you like them, then? Do you want to try them out?"

[Warehouse]

L'lanyaea smiles as well, and nods.

"I guess that's true... Did you have a 'pet'? If you did, I could try to summon her here, if you want..."

[Forest One]

The Nixie smiles, and heads over.

"Hey. How are you doing?"

[Beans]

She's sitting up and grins.

The vampire smiles, and goes to take her hand, before attempting to warp them to the top of the Tree.

"You're welcome. Why wouldn't I offer?"

[Forest One]

"Still kinda sad..." Dani says, smiling but, well, still looking kinda sad.

[Forest One]

Talia frowns a bit, and goes to put an arm around her.

"Anything I can do to help?"

[The Bushranger]

[Forest One]

Dani leans into the hug gratefully.
"Not unless you can turn back time..."

[Beans]

[W5]

Karyana sits down next to her, grinning back.

"You're welcome, love."

[Forest]

The vampire smiles, and goes to take her hand, before attempting to warp them to the top of the Tree.

[Warehouse]

"You're welcome. Why wouldn't I offer?"

[W5]
She eats with her wife/girlfriend/we're not really sure, are we?/etc, smiling.

She comes with her, bouncing excitedly.

I don't suppose you wouldn't, but thank you all the same.

"I'm afraid not... Shapeshifting, water control, and stuff with water plants are the only powers I have," she replies, holding her friend close.

[W5]

I believe we'd decided that they're married.

In any case, whatever they are, Karyana is quite happy to eat with her, also smiling, and, if possible, snuggling against her while they have breakfast.

[Forest]

And, for much the same reasons she took off from the roof with Zwei when they were still flying together, she goes to jump from the top of the Tree with the coyote girl.

[Warehouse]

"And you're welcome again," the war mage replies, smiling.

[Beans]

Snuggles and breakfast!
Zwei seems happier.

Aseti follows, learning to fly quickly.

Which makes Karyana happier as well.

"You feeling better, dear?"

Once Aseti has the basics of flight down, Karyana will begin teaching her some simple tricks, and then move onto more complex ones when she's got those down.

[Warehouse]

"I don't know. Go out somewhere again, maybe?"

[Beans]

She nods, smiling.

She's a fast learner, giggling all the while.

Karyana smiles as well, and goes to pull Zwei into her lap.

"Good."

Eventually, the shapeshifter grins at her, slowing somewhat.

"You're pretty good at this, Aseti. Do you want me to call Rizell and Zwei?"

[Warehouse]

L'lanyaea will follow her to wherever she wishes to go.

[Beans]

She giggles and snuggles close.

She nods excitedly, doing loops and barrel rolls and... stuff.

Karyana nods, and does so, joining in Aseti's acrobatics while she waits for them to arrive.

They probably end up in HALO, then.

"Then just hug me," Dani whispers, closing her eyes and trying to relax.

[Forest One]

Talia nods, holding Dani as close as she can. Though the supercharged priestess might notice that the Nixie is trying to pick her up, presumably for carrying, rather than just hugging her.

[Beans]

Karyana waves back, indicating for them to come up.

She nods.

The vampire smiles, and goes to take Zwei's hand as they fly.
