Re: OOTS #1122 - The Discussion Thread
Oh dear...
This would be the worst possible time for V to get spirited away by the IFCC.
The question is if V will be gone for 3:06 or 20:35.Last edited by chy03001; 2018-05-21 at 01:15 PM.

How does a high level cleric get bedazzled that easily?

Vampire may be an overpriced template for PCs... But on a villain, that at-will dominate can wreak havoc.

Re: OOTS #1122 - The Discussion Thread
Or the vampire's specifically avoided targeting "low threat" enemies. Given that it's a standard action each time- don't want to waste those actions.
http://www.d20srd.org/srd/monsters/vampire.htm
A vampire can crush an opponent’s will just by looking onto his or her eyes. This is similar to a gaze attack, except that the vampire must use a standard action, and those merely looking at it are not affected. Anyone the vampire targets must succeed on a Will save or fall instantly under the vampire’s influence as though by a dominate person spell (caster level 12th). The ability has a range of 30 feet.Marut-2 Avatar by Serpentine

Wow. Things are certainly getting interesting...
Thanks, Giant!
P.S. Mr Scruffy remains undominated. Go Scruffy! Kick some vampire butt! (Yeah, yeah, poor Scruffy was not that effective against the last vampire he faced. I still say "Kick Butt, Scruffy!")Last edited by Lord Torath; 2018-05-21 at 01:24 PM.

Re: OOTS #1122 - The Discussion Thread
V. should probably be ranting about the immense odds against all of those saves and dispel rolls going against the OotS right now (particularly Hilgya failing that Will save), but I suppose it wouldn't be fun if they won the fight that easily. . .
Sudden thought after watching an old "Lois and Clark" episode: Lane Davies aka Tempus is probably the best possible choice to portray an animated or live action Xykon if either of those ever becomes reality--he was born in 1950 and Tempus' personality is a close match for pre-lich Xykon IMO. Just my two cents.

Re: OOTS #1122 - The Discussion Thread
This would be a really good time for the low level cleric to bust a Magic Circle Against Evil.
At least it shouldn't be too hard to free two of them, as there are two mook vampires present.Last edited by TotallyNotEvil; 2018-05-21 at 01:27 PM.

Re: OOTS #1122 - The Discussion Thread
I was under the impression that Roy's sword was a two-hander, but then it would take a full-round action to throw. Did we know it was a one-hander (likely a bastard)?

Re: OOTS #1122 - The Discussion Thread
I got to panel 15, and was thinking, "why does Durkula look so happy? He should be confused or distressed or something."
Then I got to panel 16, and I was like "Oh. That's why."
Edit: I'm surprised we don't get to see the memory yet. I thought there was a climaxish moment coming.
Also, as a person without 3.5 knowledge, I don't understand why Bloodfeast didn't get turned into a dinosaur. Can anybody explain?

Re: OOTS #1122 - The Discussion Thread
Hmm.
SpoilerIf *all* the abjurations of the Order just went down, I can think of a really adorable reason why Hilgya would quickly snap out of it, not knowing that Durkula has declared Kudzu off limitsSudden thought after watching an old "Lois and Clark" episode: Lane Davies aka Tempus is probably the best possible choice to portray an animated or live action Xykon if either of those ever becomes reality--he was born in 1950 and Tempus' personality is a close match for pre-lich Xykon IMO. What's interesting is that Hilgya got "swirly-eyed" but Minrah managed to make her save.

Re: OOTS #1122 - The Discussion Thread
And once again, Probability proves itself willing to sneak into a back alley and service Drama as would a copper-piece harlot.
This is not good.
ETA: Does this mean we were wrong about Dispel Magic heralding the return of Bloodfeast the Extreme-inator, or might he pop up in the first panel next time?Last edited by Nightcanon; 2018-05-21 at 01:42 PM.

Re: OOTS #1122 - The Discussion Thread
MINNAH made her save but Hylga couldn’t?
Dang, how bad do you have roll to flub one in your classes area of expertise? I mean “high level” clerics are supposed to be good at that, and she has a huge willpower to cast high level spells like we’ve seen her do."Besides, you know the saying: Kill one, and you are a murderer. Kill millions, and you are a conqueror. Kill them all, and you are a god." -- Fishman
