Paranoia WW VI--Game Start
Paranoia WW VIGreetings citizens. Significant mutant activity has been detected in your sector. You will be under quarantine until all mutants have been rooted out. Use the combat suits located in the armory to troubleshoot all mutants. And remember, Friend Computer is always watching.
Roles: There are no powerroles. Everyone is either a Loyal Citizen or a Mutant. (Standard Villager vs Wolf)
Powered Combat Suits:SpoilerFriend Computer has provided two combat suits for use by loyal Citizens in eliminating the Mutants. Each Day, all Citizens will vote for two different people to wear the Suits. The same person may wear a suit multiple days in a row. See below for exact election rules.
People wearing either suit: May not speak, publicly or privately, except to declare whom they are targeting, by making one post at the appropriate time with their target's name in [size="4"][b][color=red], and including nothing else in the post. Nobody who is not wearing a combat suit may use this formatting. After someone first puts on a suit, the suit generates a force field which protects them from being killed by others. The suits will run out of energy, however, after 3 days of continuous use, being recharged when it changes hands.
Orange-clearance Experimental Troubleshooting Battle Suit: The wearer of this suit will decide, unilaterally, who is to be lynched in the day, picking any target other than the wearer of the Red suit and, if he is being voted out of his suit, the person who is replacing him. When the bearer of this suit selects a valid target, Day ends immediately, and Night begins.
Red-clearance Experimental Troubleshooting Battle Suit: The wearer of this suit is not as trusted as the Orange suit's wearer, kills during the night, and may only kill people who did not submit any votes for any election during the previous Day, other than the wearer of the Orange suit. (He replaces the Autolynch mechanic.) When the wearer of this suit selects a valid target, Night ends immediately.
Failure to perform duty in a timely manner: If the wearer of a suit fails to pick a target before the deadline of the phase they're in, and there were valid targets for them to pick, they target theirselves when Friend Computer announces the start of the next phase.
Phase length: All phases have a minimum length of 24 hours, during which wearers of suits may not submit targets. Day has a deadline of 72 hours, and Night has a deadline of 48 hours.
Elections:SpoilerThere are two steps to electing anyone to any suit: Nominating them so they become a Candidate, and voting for them as a Candidate. Anyone who is Nominated by two other people immediately becomes a Candidate. You may only nominate one person per election. The current wearer of a given suit is automatically a Candidate in that election, and automatically votes for theirselves, but is ineligible in the other election. The Candidate who receives the most votes becomes the new wearer of the given suit at the end of the day, *after* the lynch is determined. Thus, Orange suit wearers still decide the lynch on they day they are voted out. If, at the beginning of the day, nobody is wearing the Orange suit, there will be no lynch that day.
Tiebreaking: Ties are resolved in this order:
1. The current wearer of the suit wins ties involving him.
2. The Mutants, as a group, may choose to cause chaos and select the winner theirselves. They will be given 24 hours to decide.
3. The current wearer of the suit may cast a tiebreaking vote, in the same 24 hours as the Mutants' decision.
4. If none of those people interfere, the election will be decided at random.
You vote for the Orange suit with Blue and Nominate:Blue. You vote for the Red suit with Green and Nominate:Green
Votecounts will be provided often to prevent confusion.
Other rules and notes:
SpoilerPlease be active: Inactivity creates boring games. Please do not "stay under the radar" even if this is your normal playstyle and find it to be effective, regardless of your role. While you are not required to be constantly available and posting, please post as much as you can.
If you're away: You can ask to not be a valid target of the Red suit wearer for two nights total throughout the game. After this, you lose your full protection, but if all valid targets for the Red suit have declared themselves away, Redbearer may choose to not target anyone and not be killed for it.

Re: Paranoia WW VI--RECRUITING(Newb-friendly)
I'm in. So what happens if the current suit wearer kills the elected suit wearer?
And are the Mutants revealed if they mess with the election?
And can I assume roles are revealed upon death?

Oh, I guess that should be in the rules as not being allowed.

This sounds interesting and fresh enough. I do, however think that yellow is not good colorto be used, so I'll propose changing to green. In.

Re: Paranoia WW VI--RECRUITING(Newb-friendly)
*sigh* As much as I really like the theme for this game and have been waiting for someone to run one, I don't think I can play. I don't trust Sapo enough to not find some way to screw with me (this was the lesser consideration of the two reasons) and I don't trust Ur-Quan to play fair.

Re: Paranoia WW VI--RECRUITING(Newb-friendly)
Wait, why did I say yellow? Cyan is the opposite of red, not yellow >.<...
But yeah, Cyan and Blue are pretty similar; green would probably be better.
Seriously? You're going to carry this baggage? How, exactly, would Ur-Quan or anyone play unfairly? They can argue with you in a way you don't like, but that's not going to lead to them getting an unjustified advantage. The rules of the game and the forum are the same for everyone.

Re: Paranoia WW VI--RECRUITING(Newb-friendly)
Uh, that baggage (that I just acquired and haven't even had time to put down anywhere, sheesh) comes from you and Ur-Quan doing exactly that though. I have no idea how the rules of this game would impact it or not but, clearly the forum rules didn't prevent such from happening. Anyway, my concern is not that he will try the exact same tactic but, that he may resort to other things I don't consider to be fair play and he's already demonstrated that he doesn't care if something harms others' enjoyment of a game so long as he gets to win.
Edit: I was kinda hoping you'd just leave it alone though. I don't really want to have had this discussion in multiple threads. I can't really see you wanting me to play anyway.Last edited by Ramsus; 2012-06-17 at 02:54 PM.

Re: Paranoia WW VI--RECRUITING(Newb-friendly)
Yeah, both Sapo and I want you to play this game. There is no reason for you to not play the game. I will not allow it for you to cancel out all your games if you think it comes because of my fun.
Now grow a spine and play. Running from your problems will never solve them. Rather send me a PM asking for the situation to be resolved. I never answer private questions of relations in public. I'd be more than happy to talk it over with you with private means. I don't want your vendetta to encompass more games/forums, so please stop with it.My avatar is by Matthias. Thanks a lot <3

Re: Paranoia WW VI--RECRUITING(Newb-friendly)
That S is redundant there.(silly edits, I haet youse) Also, I kinda dig them since I've found I can macro them really easily. It also helps me dig into someone's skull, emphasizing words I want to be emphasized, emulating my speech, which is quite impeding.Last edited by Ur-Quan; 2012-06-17 at 04:59 PM.

Eh, fine. Whatever. If you guy are going to go to that length of in i ting I hould play, I'll play. I wonder if I can keep thi illyne up for the re t of the game (or if I'll end up wanting to hoot my elf before even Day 1 goe by).

Re: Paranoia WW VI--RECRUITING(Newb-friendly)
Ah, Paranoia. Possibly the only tabletop game in existance where the players aren't allowed to look at the rulebook. (And then get punished when they do.) I've never played it, but I like the setting that it's in. (Remember, everyone, happiness is compulsory. ) (Smash the machine!)
I didn't think that I'd be joining this game at first, but I've got more time on my hands than I thought that I would. I'm in.Last edited by CeresianMemento; 2012-06-17 at 06:26 PM.
