Re: ToS Exhibition 3.14159265358979
What's a dispelling cord?
I also forgot to mention that I have ten glowing orbs, with two of them in hand. I'm also shining with a very bright light. (those are the only differences from the previous description). I dunno if the glowing orbs count as items or things affecting me, honestly, but if we assume that they count as the CL I had when I made them, you probably aren't dispelling them.
Anyway, ok, let's go then...
SpoilerBead of Karma enhanced Celestial Brilliance (18 days). Cl 18

Re: ToS Exhibition 3.14159265358979
I can only hit 14 targets, so if I'm not mistaken that's only 4 orbs. A Dispelling cord gives a bonus to dispel checks until the end of my turn. Also, I count 20 buffs/items in your previous post, not 19. I think I have to make 24 dispel checks. Are you sure your last post is accurate to account for this?
Edit: You see me. Here's my description again, but there's not much new in there if you still remember from last time:
SpoilerA man with dark hair stands before you. His eyes glow blue, but the color seems muted. In fact, he looks drained of color, as if viewed through some sort of filter. There is a band of beaten old leather on his forehead, which is mostly concealed by greasy black bangs. The most striking feature about his head, however, is the gaudy bright pink veil that covers his face, which seem very out of place on such a drab, gray... well, man. He has a drab, featureless gray cloak with a hood, and where it does not conceal his torso you can see a tiger's pelt. His arms are covered in fine, silvery chainmail (the cloak is sleeveless), and you see bracers of tiger's skin on his wrists. There are a large number of thin leather bands crudely tied around his right arm. He is also wearing ornate blue leather armbands with golden patches that look like eagles sewn in. A light crossbow hangs at his side, and you can see a pouch on his belt within easy reach of his hands. He wields a round wooden shield, its surface virtually unscathed. There is a smooth blue gem embedded in the center of the shield, with a small arrowhead embedded in it. He has one ring on each hand: the left ring is a thin golden band set with silver spheres. The right ring is a thicker, larger golden ring with a seal in the middle surrounded by small rubies. It could certainly be used as a signet. You probably can't make out what the seal looks like at this distance. His boots are dark gray and seem unusually large, and are padded on the bottom. He is also wearing a backpack.
Also, I don't know what the stats are for a Nightstick. I can find them when I have access to my books, but that may take a while.Last edited by Claudius Maximus; 2009-08-05 at 07:36 PM.

Re: ToS Exhibition 3.14159265358979
Ah, I must have forgot something; I'll edit real quick.
EDIT: Ok, I'm not sure how this works; I have the BoK active, so does that count as an active effect on me, or not? If it does, it's one of the transmutations, and if not you just need to dispel the bead.
And how much of a bonus is this to dispel checks?Last edited by Milskidasith; 2009-08-05 at 07:40 PM.

Re: ToS Exhibition 3.14159265358979
the BoK is an effect on you. You don't lose it if I dispel the bead. However, I can dispel it by targeting you, which I am doing. By dispelling the bead, I just make it so that you can't activate it for 1d4 rounds, which is probably useless.
A Dispelling cord only gives +2, but that may make the difference sometimes.
Also, I forgot to mention that there are nine of me. You know it's Greater Mirror Image.Editor and playtester for Legend.

Is Daylight still up? By the way, it's Enchantment and abjuration that have been rolled into one, not Evocation/Abjuration. I also get to know precisely which items are down, since I saw their auras go out.

Re: ToS Exhibition 3.14159265358979
Uhh... at CL 10, you dispel it on a roll of a 9, since your mod is +12 and the DC is 10+ CL.
Anyway, you fail to identify the spell illuminating me.
I drop an orb where I'm standing (so 60 feet bright illumination from Y10) and then I move to P4. If at any point I get within 60 feet of you, tell me.

Re: ToS Exhibition 3.14159265358979
Is that the radius of your Daylight-level light effect? Would my HiPS be negated in that area? Remember, it has to be bright enough to give penalties to light-sensitive creatures to do that.

Re: ToS Exhibition 3.14159265358979
The orbs can have any brightness I choose and the spell gives double penalties to light sensitive. So yes, it does negate HiPS.

Re: ToS Exhibition 3.14159265358979
I debate that the orbs can be that bright. Permanent Daylight for 50 gp and a 3rd level spell slot? I doubt it. That other spell (Celestial Brilliance?) is certainly bright enough, though.
Make a spot check.
Edit: Why don't you just carry around a number of rocks equal to your CL-1, and cast Celestial Brilliance on them all? It's much less dubious, and it's free.

It's still my turn; if I can't see you, I'm going to move to I2, dropping the orb at my current location. If you are within 60 feet at any point during that move, tell me what square you are in.

Re: ToS Exhibition 3.14159265358979
No.
But I suggest you do it from now on. It'll wreck the day of anyone who depends on darkness-based HiPS. I'm not really sure if the damage stacks though.
We have to determine whether or not those orbs can be that bright. Here's my argument against it: the spell says it can illuminate a 60-foot radius, which could be 30/30. Even if it's 60/60, which is admittedly equal to Daylight, it says nothing of imposing penalties, and as I learned earlier, "reasonable extensions" of spell powers are not RAW.
You do not see me.
OO:
