So this past week, my baby's been at his grandparents in Louisiana, so we decided to use that time to redo the walls in his bathroom. The wallpaper was peeling, and it didn't look TOO bad to remove it from the YouTube videos I saw.

Unfortunately, the prior owners painted over the wallpaper. So several days of annoying work trying to fix that, and I now hate them for it. Then sanding, cleaning, and painting. And, we figured at the start, as long as we're doing this we may as well replace the toilet like we've wanted to since we got the house. And may as well go ahead and replace the really dated towel handles and toilet paper holder, outlet covers, lightswitch covers, and make it all look nice and new.

Long story short, I still hate plumbing, I now hate drywall, wallpaper, painted over wallpaper, the previous owners, and plumbing. My goal in life is to make enough money that I can hire people to do that for me, and appreciate the hell out of them.

Painted over wallpaper is just the worst. I hate that also.

I don't know if you've tried it but they do make a solution that is supposed to loosen the glue. I've used that in a sprayer and a putty knife to decent effect at times.

We did indeed! It's hard for that to penetrate the paint. Damnable painted wallpaper....

Well, the painted wallpaper is peeling at the corners. You would think that would make it easier to remove. You would be wrong.

Plus, it's worth it to rid the house of the evils of a round toilet. Elongated or die!

That would work, but "not running out of pills" is the better option.. and yeah, I know I failed at it, but still.

I have run out of meds before, usually pain. I understand. just keep on keeping on.

Will considering how late it is now, how dry my mouth is, the fact I feel cold, and the fact that I have both a light migraine and nausea I think tomorrow might be my first sick day since secondary school.

I actually feel terrible about it. They're going to need to get cover on at best a two hour notice, most likely one hour, and I could still in theory do my job without any problems. But I'm a potential infection risk and I'm fairly abrasive at the best of times, today I'm just going to be a lot worse and I don't want to show everybody else down while putting residents at risk. I do hope that this clears up so that I can go back on Friday*, but I think they for now I need to test and drink lots of tea (where's those maids that American media is always claiming I have when you need them?)

* Shifts mean I have Wednesday and Thursday off anyway.

I agree. There isn't a competition for number of days spent at work without a sick day, there's no reward for going in when you feel you shouldn't, so take the day and stop worrying about it.

Whelp, well past midnight and I'm still wide awake and being treated to pretty much the first toothache of my life.

Real stubborn one, too. Took three Advils and the son of a gun ain't gone nowhere. It's been on and off the past week or so and generally worse at night, but this is the worst it's gotten. Good thing I've got a dentist appointment... next Tuesday.

Well, I spent 4 1/2 hours shopping with my sister in law. it was kinda rather nice, though I miss my niece. She was in school, so oh well.

I felt like taking another shower, but there are limited medical wound covering rescources.

on an aside, I finally did a major clean out of the fridge.

If you get goose bumps after stepping out of said shower it can leave a bit of the hair exposed again causing stubble to form what seems like immediately. This most commonly happens on legs.

I just came up with an extremely over-the-top scene for the defeat of an archdemon for a story or similar.
