[FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
A place to discuss OOC ideas about the MLP Friendship is was Magic RP.
FAQs

Q: How dark is this RP?
A: Somewhere below 'Happy Sunshine Fun Land' and above 'Hopeless'. Happy endings are the bulk of life, but the possibility always exists for a sad ending. Darkness also runs rampant across the world and is always lurking outside the safe walls of town.
Q: What is the tech level?
A: I think the general consensus is 'Steampunk' right now. There may be occasional alien technology influence as well.
Q: What is the general policy on weapons?
A: Equestria is an armed society right now. Every military member, including the common town guards, carries a potentially lethal weapon with them everywhere, even off duty. Even civilian ponies are commonly seen carrying weapons. However, it is standard practice to never draw your weapon unless you intend to use it. Drawing a weapon, for whatever reason, is considered a hostile act by most ponies.
Q: How dangerous is the town of Bridle Shores?
A: Interesting question. The town has seen much more than its fair share of action and odd occurrences over the years since its founding, and no one can say why this is. Skirmishes with monsters at one or more town entrances happen almost daily, and certain loud noises are common enough that they no longer enough by themselves to induce a panic in any town resident. That said, the Town Guard and Militia are good at what they do, and few things are a high enough threat level to greatly disrupt life in the town for long. In D&D terms, this is a town where your neighbor is likely to have one or more levels in a PC class.
Q: How are threats classified?
A: Threat Ranks (guidelines):
F-Rank - Helpless. No threat at all.
E-Rank - Mild threat. Only about as dangerous as an average civilian.
D-Rank - Competent combatant. Not something a pony could be expected to defeat without combat training.
C-Rank - Dangerous combatant. Not something your average soldier could defeat reliably.
B-Rank - Highly dangerous. Defeating something like this is what makes your average heroes. Super-Mook/Sub-Boss/Early Boss status.
A-Rank - Extremely dangerous. 'You and what army?' is no longer a joke at this point. Big Sub-Boss/Late Boss status.
A-Rank+ - Army Killers, unofficial ranking. No official is really willing to admit that such dangers even exist at all. End boss status.
Q: Where is the Roleplay thread?
A: There's a link to it right below.
Q: Where can I post my character and find info on existing characters and backstory?
A: There's a link to that below too.

Re: [FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
Copypasta!
Since we're nearing the timeskip, I thought we should just post up (again) as to what our characters are doing during the interval. Note, I am assuming the airship is still not completely repaired a month later. (Or two weeks, if you want to shorten this.)
Tyrol and Staccata would continue their awkward relations, culminating in a visit to the spa, since Staccata seemed insistent on him going to it. (I think Sandy and Rainbow would be going here as well.) This should be covered in a scene of its own.
Sliverpine would just continue his duties on the Cirrus, fixing his mech and the airship the best he can. Later, he would continue to assist Sandy in the more delicate parts of the repair. He would also avoid bringing up any mention of a closer relationship with Gear, as per his promise.
Lemongrass... I suppose he'd make up with Dreamrunner at some point. Again, would need a scene to wrap this up.
Shell Shock would be doing what he does best. Drinking. And also offering his services to the Public Works Guild for any sort of demolition work.
Icy/Esmeralda would be the most complicated of the five. Generally they would come to an agreement to swap bodies every two to three days and start seeing/visiting Lone Star and Fox Trot on alternate days. Both agreed not to think too hard about the implications of their... love square. Icy would make some headway into her studies of the curse, enough to teach Esmeralda how to resist some of the compulsion spells.
(Also, I think we can start the timeskip events now, if you guys had any planned.)

Re: [FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
Ember- Would get over his pride and try to find some labor job to earn some Bits considering he's as poor as *buffyspeak* poorest poor pony. Also, he would try to get a start on his plot revenge to take vengeance justice on those who killed his family.
Aubade-Would find a job as a cleaning mare or something to supplement their income. She might develop a friendship with Shellshock, and Sunbleach if he and she can patch up the uneasiness she has with Tanj.
Fox Trot- He would be dismissed the next day from the clinic. Contact HQ for information on the Cult of the Eclipse for Icy. Try to have more 'study sessions' only to find themselves getting 'distracted' as usual :smalltongue: With his fore hooves temporarily out of commission he would try to train more his kicks and bucks. He would indefinitely scrap the idea of going to the lake for Icy.
Gearstride- Help with repairs, try to take it upon herself to solve this thief plot only to hit dead end after dead end. Angst, in regards to her selfish conflicted emotions for Silverpine. Help plan Blaze and Hover's wedding.
*I would assume that at some point during the time skip, the Cirrus Crew would try to test out those power suits or something' that they got from Mach.
===
===
Balboa- Plot. Grope Plot. Have his way with plot. Get twacked by Astrid. And once in a while do something unimportant like continuing his public relations and image, and collecting intel from his various sources.
Gwynfillion- Plot the demise of those foals who dared to...Anyhoof. She's probably go out on more adventures and quests for the Dark Ones. Acquire longing for some of Soft's cookies and pina coladas. Regularly punish Ink Noir.

Re: [FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
Staccata: Usual misadventures about town, thief stuff during the timeskip. Also would be at least moderately interested in revenge plots to make nobles get what they deserve.
Mach: Usual keeping ponies patched up, looking for places where there would be decent parts for sale/salvage. But with what he and the Cirrus needs, it seems the best place to find them would be in a ruined cloud city...
Griffon: Pretty harsh physical training for the guards that are sent to him. Smack-down on those that think they don't need it and want to get straight to combat. Showing up where it would be convenient to break up a fight with his size/potential intimidation factor.
edit- I think the scene at Dreamrunner's room is ready to move forward, assuming she's not too drunk.
-
Re: [FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
Pyrope - Continue being a pony who tells other ponies who loves them and so on. Possibly visit her new 'friends' from time to time. Keep an eye in the skies for Gwyn. Also possibly learn there is another blind Seeress and want to contact her.
Marzipan - Accept her new job with the Guard. Keep an eye on Ember and Aubade and probably let them stay at her place. Keep searching for Mystic.
Astrid - Smacking Balboa every now and then and maybe look for some gullible pony stallion to take advantage of. Other than that, just doing general things for Balboa and keeping him in line.
Also Soft Serve, maybe in a little bit? I don't know if I'd mind that much though honestly.
-
Re: [FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
The scene at Dreamrunner's is in fact ready.
Plus she won't be drunk for too long because her medic gun can make her sober.:smalltongue:
And she will probably be fooling around with it.

Re: [FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
Sandy would throw himself back into the repair work, no longer held back by injury. His over-enthusiasm for his work, combined with the strain put on his body at the battle, would prompt some of the other crew members to foalnap him and forcibly take him to the spa for a day. I've got some good scene openers in mind for this when the time comes.
He'd spend some of his free time with Rainbow; he'd try to set up nice, quiet movie evenings or walks around town, but those never quite worked out. Rainbow would quickly become drunk, and he'd cave to her advances, not wanting to upset her. The very picture of a healthy relationship.
He'd also take up Silverpine on his long-forgotten offer of a root beer, and the two of them would spend at least one night just catching up and hanging out. (I'd kinda like to do this scene as well as the spa one, just keeping the number of loose threads to a manageable number)

Weren't we going to have Sandy get fixed up today? He's just napping at the moment, not properly asleep, so Gearstride and Silverpine can come and talk to him about the procedure. I suppose this applies to the rest of the crew as well, so maybe don't end the day just yet?

Re: [FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
Flowier- Flowier is in Fetlock running Fort Fetlock. Her training for her troops grows harsher by the day.
Grills- Grills spends most of the month reading intelligence reports on various nobles and their possible motives for hostility for Bridle Shores or the Flamestrongs. He leaves town for a weekend to scout the Cavallo casino under magical disguise.
Hover- Hover hatches a plan to go completely bridezilla to delay the wedding with Blaze as much as possible. All kinds of crazy requests while blowing off any filly time suggest by the female crewmates.
Rainbow- Rainbow does her normal solo thing. She would have a couple dates with Sandy around the ship. Each one would end or start with her being completely wasted with the blue pony unable to stop her.
Regal- Regal will mostly dive into regaining the bits lost in the battle. He would attend a few parties and conduct wedging with House Skald allies.
Juribean- Juri is still beat up but manages to commit a few assassinations for Regal to open another Senate seat.

Oh manure...near forgot about that xD...okay...scratch that 'end pony day' for Gear, so we can get this scene done.

Sweet. I can finally stop overusing ellipses.

At least you probably don't abuse them as much as the Warrior comics. (Has not been paying attention really)
A quote by Dr. Insano on a part in one of said books.
"....Why are there ellipses in a definition?"

Re: [FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
So, explain to me again why we're doing another timeskip so soon after our last one?
Hasn't even been one pony day.:smalltongue:

Mostly because most of our ponies seemed to be still injured in one way or another. A timeskip would allow us to skip all that. Besides I had always thought a three-day timeskip after the battle to be a little too short. A month would be good to allow everypony to start fresh. And also allow those who had fallen behind to start anew as it were. (Crisis-21 comes to mind.)
-
Re: [FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
Also, I don't think that we have to role play out every single pony day in a row. Sometimes even small time skips, like 2-4 days could be good for story flow.
-
Re: [FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
A month may be a little long, I'd be up for perhaps two weeks. But if you think a month is necessary, that's alright.

Two weeks is fine with me as well.

Re: [FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
Another point: We tend to introduce new factors and threads with each ponyday. A little skip like this is helpful (for me at least) to take care of a few little dangling ones without having a bunch of "And then Sandy stayed in the engine room all day so as to not induce any more drama." It's what Benson said; helps with the flow a little.
-
Re: [FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
All of my characters have ended their pony days. I'm good for the time skip.
-
Re: [FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
One other note for the time skip: The Cirrus will definitely not be repaired, as the parts they ordered were delayed by the thief/battle. Also, Sandy is secretly thrilled to have the chance to actually make some headway on his work. He's got a to-do list about a mile long, and it nearly doubles every mission they do.

Re: [FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
Oh darn ...Gear's stuck in that laaame town that is Bridle Shores. Boo http://i.imgur.com/jgqXQ.png (:smalltongue:)

Also, I'm totally digging the fun dynamic between Astrid and Balboa. Speaking of that knave with the name of a dance, I kinda seem him at some point not quite sure who he is. Is he that villainous schemer who likes plot and to manipulate others? Or is he that socialite who enjoys giving back to the community, getting himself some plot, and probably genuinely is looking out for his son...in his own twisted way. Who knows, might find out next year considering the rate the RP goes :smalltongue:

Re: [FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
Icy never told Lone Star she was sleepin' with Fox :smalltongue:
Lone Star - Hospital. He'll warm up to Esmeralda over the weeks, though he'll remain weak until the last couple of days.
Moon Blossom - Will take on a few patients, occasionally check in on LS to evaluate his current mental health.
Wrench - Will stay home and work on a secret project. Occasionally, he will send questions to Dreamrunner about the medical viability of a design idea, some of which were feasible only with the medigun and others were just plain impossible. Shell Shock will recieve a few questions regarding the stability and strength of certain high explosives.

Re: [FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
All my ponies ended their days.
Flowier is in NPC mode.
I think I will jack up Regal's magnificent bastard gambitness. And give him Cage level freakouts.

Hmm... does that mean we need a scene to showcase Lone Star's reaction?

Probably. :smalltongue: I'm not sure if I ever said what his reaction would be and you'd have to see it to believe it.

Okay, we can start on this while waiting for... I think Gear/Mach/Sliverpine/Sandy to finish up their scene. Choose any day within the next two weeks. :smalltongue:

Re: [FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
Oh...so the time skip has been changed to two weeks? Ah okay.
Anywhoof, what other little scenes are there to wrap up aside from Staccata's and Dreamrunner's and of course the Mach/Gear/Sandy/Silverpine scene,?

I think those are the last ones. In the meanwhile...
*goes to cavort in the Misc adventures thread*

Re: [FWM] OOC 2: Eclectic Scootaloo
Moofin is just waiting for everyone to end their pony day.
She wants to play some more.

Go ahead and start interactions that you feel might happen during the timeskip. I think Balboa and Astrid may need those, as do Regal and somepony else.
