I think saying that you didn't manage it is entirely justified on my part.

Basically, I don't like FFF Keris. He was a rushed concept that I never really got nailed down, and has no real motives. I just want him out of the way, and repair the mistakes he's made along the way.

I'd prefer you to make characters native to Avbaroy and characters who have a technology lower than Modern Earth (industrial revolution would be best, unless he comes from Schizotec [the only place allowed to have high-technology]).

well the only way I could come up with a character without messing up the ABR timeline was to have a person from another galaxy who's tech was high enough to get him here...
as for the whole alien looking exactly like a human...
The universe id a BIG place...

I understand where your coming from but MM is right. It's practically god-modding having everyone using the same technology and then having one person who is a lot more advanced.

It's not Godmoding, he's just more powerfull.
Take Igon, he's a powerfull spellcaster. Fayt is a powerfull technology dude.
And what MM like's and doesn't like has nothing to with it, that's his own opinion.

I didn't make any changes to the robots themselves. These are also scientists that build reality-altering devices in their lunch break. Glorified signal jammers are child's play.

yeah as a crazy old man with just enough energy left to keep him alive.
(crazy as in:
A group walk up to a rocky outpost, sniper shot dings into the floor nearby.
Fayte: "get off ma property you hooligans! or the next ones going right between your eyes... and ill make sure it ricoshaes and hit your friend in the leg!" another shot shoots a spider off of a guys shoulder.
"You ainte gettin ma booze!" takes swig from bottle and casts it into a pile of empty bottles next to him.)

EDIT: and i wanted a second character to be able to do thins Fayte cant...like be a high(ish) ranking member of a hierachy and try to get off the darn planet he's on after he crashed his ship, the communication device is ruined and all his merc squad perished in the crash...

how about they came from a nearby solar system that isnt far enough to be easy to get to but if spent enough time traversing between solar systems then you could eventually get their?

Except that Humans, or Catfolk as the case may be, have spent millennia evolving ways to control their arms, and have specific clusters of nerves to do so. Most of the work is done by the subconscious, you don't think "bend third knuckle" as you type.
But with something new you're trying to control the body has no evolved method of controlling it. So you have to think "flex robo-arm". That's why Doc Ock had an AI to control his tentacles in Spiderman 2. (Example uses for illustrative purposes, not necessarily completely accurate.)
Keris has issued a series of basic instructions to the Nanites, like "Keep toxins out of my breathing air", and "locate catgirls", but the Nanites themselves work out how to do this. If you shut this processing off, you have to do all the thinking for millions of Nanites.

And Keris comes from a place where you change timelines to get to work. He's still more advanced here.

NC, how about you lived on a faraway island that nobody else knows about and you crashed an airship on Abvaroy while exploring? You could still want to get home, and you'd still be an outsider. You could always substitute the technology with magically enhanced gear as well.

Still, 6 years implies a level of technological advancement far greater than Modern Earth... Perhaps you should consider Tired 'N Drowzy's idea ?

I agree I don't think Rand and Lying should be so powerful but that has already happened and we can't change that however we can change this so we don't get ultra powerful people in FI.

Did you know that before the 15th century, no European (apart from a few Vikings) knew about the Americas, an entire continent ? Surely a small island could remain unknown for a long time.
