Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIX: To FAIL, or not to FAIL?
I do apologise if I seem offensive. I just feel it had to be said.
And personally, you still aren't as bad a somebody who decided to kill off several characters because they were sick of having people interrupt them.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIX: To FAIL, or not to FAIL?
Anyway, I speak for myself here, but possibly for many ABR brethren. Also, I apologize if this rant sounds like it's been ripped from a movie, but it's not.
Anyway, I've never been a man of words. I've always had trouble explaining and materializing what's in my head. Which is probably why I haven't finished any one of the 100 novels I've been writing over the years. I royally SUCK at explaining things.
The only things I have ever seemed to finish of any moderate decency was comics. Only comics, which I have only found out as I came to the GiTP games, wrote a webcomic, and took place in ABR. They say a picture means a thousand words, which really makes things easier.
Anyway, ABR, as I see it, is about a giant tug-o-war between a thousand palookas. Yes, we come together, spill our stories and wrestle for the spotlight. I woudn't have it any other way.
Now, (keep in mind, I SUCK at explaining, so I'm sorry if I sound like a grabbring loon right now) it seems like Mad Mask has used his charismatic skills to control the spot-light. Not to a specific person, but to the whole plot in general. This is a good thing in solo stories I would guess. I personally would LOVE to see a webcomic made by Mad Mask if it wasn't too wordy.
However, ABR is a beautiful thing because it dosen't seem to be like that. There is not supposed to be a group-mentality to it. The spot-light is to be for the characters, working together and competeing to truely and accidentally make something special.
Mad Mask is a genius, but when things get too wordy because of some backstory thing or he (or ANYBODY) dosen't allow the story to continue by the palookas tugging the rope, then it is no longer collaberative. It is a comic by Mad Mask, with many, MANY guest authors.
I guess what I'm trying to explain is....Get your reason outta our plot, you!AVATAR BATTLE ROYALE!

Oh my god!? Mad Mask could have a comic!? He could use his new ideas for there and then come here and make a cool comic with all of us agreeing with what should be in it.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIX: To FAIL, or not to FAIL?
I'd hope you do, cosidering yours were some of them. But others were killed including a flying stingray when it was trying to negotiate. -The threat to kill the next character who interacted with TS hadn't been stated at that point.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIX: To FAIL, or not to FAIL?
I'm glad it's 3 AM here because it means I have license to not follow what's going on.
Isn't Mask autistic? I remember reading that.
If so, then I can absolutely understand why he might seem controlling, because he's doing exactly the same thing my brain does: analyses things to death and plots them out ahead of time. And then when his brain sees something not going as it predicted, it gets kinda fidgety.
You should see my D&D games...
EDIT: I'd like to point out that it takes more than three people for a comic to be completely ignored.Last edited by Lyinginbedmon; 2009-04-18 at 09:08 PM.

'Arry Po'ah. Sometimes it gets sort of annoying, though.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIX: To FAIL, or not to FAIL?
Whenever I participate in an argument of this sort I always end up being unaniously unpopular. Thus my enlightening tounge will be restrained for the proceedings.
Hey Crimson... is there going to be a romance subplot between Damien and skimmer's character now? Clarification makes the world clearer.
Also, was... was Damien feeling up her unconcious (but still smiling body) whilst under fire from heavy artillery and foot soldiers from two seperate factions?
Other than those nitpicks that comic you wrote is thus far, the best I've seen in this new plot.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIX: To FAIL, or not to FAIL?
Friends! I have a solution!
We all just take Mask a little less seriously. Think of him as a normal ABRer that has no more power over us then any other ABR. He has just about as much influence as we all give him. Without us giving it to him, he has just the same amount of influence over where the plot goes as Master Ranger.
How about that? EASY!Last edited by Green-Shirt Q; 2009-04-18 at 09:27 PM.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIX: To FAIL, or not to FAIL?
Ah, yes.
Well, I suppose if it is unintentional, it needs to be brought to attention just to prevent it going out of hand by accident, you know? Like when you do something that pisses a friend off but they don't tell you until they explode at you. It isn't really fair, but it still needs to be done.
That is assuming it is unintentional. Either way, I vote that the plot be handed to the masses, rather then handled by a few and given the thumbs up.
