If I could, I upgraded my Scimitar from a normal to a Masterwork, blowing the full 300 gold.
If this is illegal, then I shall remove the masterwork bonus, and merely add the 300g to my total gold

No, it's not possible to directly upgrade.

If you need a masterwork weapon, you must buy it at full price. For a scimitar, that would be 315 gold.

You may also sell gear at half the listed price. If you sold your current scimitar, you would receive 7 gold, 5 silver. If you put that towards the purchase of a new masterwork weapon, it would end up costing only a little more than 300 gold.

To the best of my knowledge you are still in B-13 where you started.
Flamel Zeal was in L-11 during your Round 4 turn.

Since F.Z. has cover, but not total cover, in L-11 against B-13 there is LoE at that point so you're readied action would have immediately fired.
