No, it's just, Holland is one of the 10 Netherlands.

Technically speaking, Holland does not refer to those other Netherlands.

Calling the Netherlands Holland is like calling Britain England.

Well, in certain languages the Netherlands are only called Holland, or at least something like it. For example, in Polish the Netherlends are called Holandia.

    Alright, my point is made.

In Dutch the UK is normally called Engeland as well, doesn't mean that when there is a more accurate term available you should disregard it's use.

It's just that Verenigd Koninkrijk is ambigious. (Verenigd Koninkrijk van Britannië en Noord Ierland or Verenigd Koninkrijk der Nederlanden?)

Britannië or Groot Britannië are occasionally used, but they still leave out northern Ireland.

So perfectly acceptable but niggling to a small subset of the population at large, eh? Good to know. Now to wonder what part of Holland my ancestor came from. Yeah, somehow just the one. Same thing happened with a very confused Welshman....

500 ouches... Wow... That's even more expensive than the Coldplay tickets I got, which I almost didn't want to get on account of their cost vs. the returns...

Also, I saw Robert Plant free last night.
    Absolutely awesome.

It's funny because the Euro is worth more than the dollar

Seriously, there's nationalism, and then there's being ridiculous.

Just for the record, 1 euro = 1.33 USD, so $500 is 375.94 EUR

It makes the cost of living in the eurozone hilarious even before VAT, which is like sales tax in being applied to non-essential items, but at least twice as high. Imagine genteel poverty.

Though, come to think of it, it would only be a dollar sympathizer with any concept of a 25-cent coin. The euro itself has a 20-cent coin instead, and man is that confusing in an otherwise identical system.

I'm just kidding, chill down man.

I thought it was obvious I was joking.

Edit: Quincunx: We had a 25 cent piece before the introduction of the Euro.

Of course, that one was worth about 11 eurocent.
