Re: Farmer Felix's Fantastic FRandom FBanter #119 (may contain traces of fnuts)
In Dutch the UK is normally called Engeland as well, doesn't mean that when there is a more accurate term available you should disregard it's use.
It's just that Verenigd Koninkrijk is ambigious. (Verenigd Koninkrijk van Britannië en Noord Ierland or Verenigd Koninkrijk der Nederlanden?)
Britannië or Groot Britannië are occasionally used, but they still leave out northern Ireland.٩๏̯͡๏)۶

A pars pro toto is a perfectly acceptable literary device, so why wouldn't it be acceptable in a colloquial appellation of an inconsequential nation?

Err... Hello.
Why would it have to be patriots couldn't non-patriots also be angry at you for whatever reason they happen to feel like?

I echo both of these sentiments. Never really been an Aerosmith fan.
In any case, goodnight.

Re: Farmer Felix's Fantastic FRandom FBanter #119 (may contain traces of fnuts)
So perfectly acceptable but niggling to a small subset of the population at large, eh? Good to know. Now to wonder what part of Holland my ancestor came from. Yeah, somehow just the one. Same thing happened with a very confused Welshman....
Lamesauce, you're not even a cohesive nation-state emancipated from monarchy? man, you're really falling short of your rep, my home dogs.
Good band name.
So sitting here in my kilt is incredibly liberating feeling.
The itchiness of the woolen hose when it rides down my leg due to not having the garters on is getting a bit old, but I dinnae feel like having my feet nekkid.

500 ouches... Wow... That's even more expensive than the Coldplay tickets I got, which I almost didn't want to get on account of their cost vs. the returns...
Also, I saw Robert Plant free last night.
Absolutely awesome.Last edited by randman22222; 2009-04-26 at 09:24 AM.

Re: Farmer Felix's Fantastic FRandom FBanter #119 (may contain traces of fnuts)
It makes the cost of living in the eurozone hilarious even before VAT, which is like sales tax in being applied to non-essential items, but at least twice as high. Imagine genteel poverty.
Though, come to think of it, it would only be a dollar sympathizer with any concept of a 25-cent coin. The euro itself has a 20-cent coin instead, and man is that confusing in an otherwise identical system.Last edited by Quincunx; 2009-04-26 at 10:04 AM.

Yeah, but we dutch people are still annoyed at our government for switching to the euro.
We also like to pretend we still use the gulden.
