Re: Groundhog's Random Banter of Weather Prediction and Anti-Gopherness #120
*pats* don't worry, he's still got plenty of time to have all the joy of living sucked out of him.
Let's wait until he gets his first girlfriend. Women are good at taking everything that is happy in a man's soul and twisting it until they are left as shadows of their former selves.
THEN they want to see other people.

Re: Groundhog's Random Banter of Weather Prediction and Anti-Gopherness #120
Two more exams done!
I even went in early, as in I caught my college bus in even though the exams started at quarter past one!
I spent four straight hours (nine 'til one) revising. Mainly becuse I hadn't actually managed to do any proper revision at home - too many distractions. So I was a wee bit concerned over these two exams. Understandably.
Greek history and culture is first.
Greek tragedy.
The first section: one question on Oedipus, one on my hated play Antigone (she's such an incestuous necrophiliac with a martyr complex). So you'd think I'd advoid Antigone like it had the plague or something right? I did that question. It was easy, although I did srew up the timing so when it came to
The second section - the synoptic, I had to rush my ending.
But it was a great question(the one I chose)! Basically: how far does the audience's prior knowledge of the story enhance or spoil the play?
Roman history and culture came second. After 90 minutes of straight up frantic writing.
Aeneid
The first section: Dido question or . . . or, something that was apparently so horrendous I've already forgotten it. So I did the Dido one and I believe I did good. Whooped the timing on that one so when it came to
Scetion two (synoptic again) I was so happy. Why?
One of the best ever questions came up.
'The Aeneid is more about human relationships than promoting AUgustan values'. How far is this true?
Paraphrased, that is.
Five pages I did for that one.
Four hours later, my hand still aches, and the biro groove is nicely engraved. Well, at least my next exam isn't for one week.
Six left!
Bathatar!
Squid bones are lies.
