Lim-dul is suddenly surprised by the appearance of trees around him.

Andal spots a wisp of shining green suddenly flash between two trees in the distance, a little way off from the trail. Above it is perched a little figure sitting on a coil of stairs that wrap around one trunk from the ground up to a height of about seven feet.

Andal readies his urgrosh and signals the party to stop by raising one hand.

"There's something over there, sitting in the trees."

"Good Gods Man, Where Did All Of These Trees Come From?!"Lim-Dul shouts. "How long have we been in the forest?"

"Stop talking in capital letters!" Andal orders, as his eyes scan the area around then. "It's grammatically unsound."

The little figure sitting up in the tree takes out a flute and begins playing it. The sounds from the instrument are hard to stomach as they waver between two strange tones. With the music playing, all other sounds of the forest quickly fade into silence.

<in Elven>: "Oh gweat Enchanta! These mortals come to the fowest to offer willing sacwifices and twibute like the others!"

Andal speaks Undercommon, which is related to Elvish iirc. Does he perhaps glean a little of what is said?

(Well it at least sounds angry and uninviting, but is still as melodious and fanciful as the Elven language. Undercommon is based close to Elven, so he can figure out 'sacrifice' and 'tribute'. If anyone else knows Elven, then they can fill him in but even then it seems to be a very old dialect of it.)

    Lindee

"We're not here as sacrifices and we havn't any tribute, so you'd best take that back this instant, young feller-me-sprite!" Lindee scolds, before repeating that in Elvish, and continuing in the same tongue. "Where have you taken the others what have come through here?"

Lim-Dul asks in Elvish, "Yes, and who is this so called "Enchanta" anyway? Why would we, or anyone else for that matter, be giving him tribute?"

The creature on the tree jumps up and down. It looks like a little hand-made ragdoll from this distance.

<in Elven>: "No sacwifices? No twibute? The Enchanta will not be happy. You tall-folk must be... DESTWOYED!" There's the sound of the flute again, but it's very deep this time.

    (<in Undercommon: Sacrifices... tribute... destroyed...>)

"You were raiding the caravans to sacrifice their goods? Why couldn't you have just bought them, eh? Fething cheapskate elves!"

The creature is about to retort when it's soundly struck in the head.

"AIEEEEEE! Twiiibbbuu-" It screams as it falls, relative to its height, six or seven stories to the ground. There's an almost imperceptible thud when it lands. But soon after, another thud can be heard. And another. And it's growing louder every second.

"GRAAAAAWWWWWRRRR!!!" A large bear comes tearing out of the woods and down the trail after you.

(No one notices anything peculiar about the bear.)

Lim-Dul's shot catches the black bear in the front paw as it continues lumbering toward you all. Amy's ends up landing too low to strike the charging beast.

When it reaches Andal, it lunges forward and swings an arm the size of a barrel at his head. The strike misses but smashes into the soft ground with a resounding thud.

    Next Round!

    Lindee

"Ahhh! Why would a bear attack this many people? That sprite must have enspelled it!"

Lindee grabs the point of Andal's weapon as he braces it against the animals charge, murmuring, as she draws a short club.

"Spirits! Spirits of earth, bless this weapon forged of your bounty of metal and make it strike true..." she begins to murmurs incomprehensibly, and a flash of grey-white magic lances out from her palm and jumps into the weapons spear-point.

((Magic Weapon on the spear-head of Andal's Urgosh. +1 to hit, +1 to damage, now a magic weapon.))

After that, she dashes over towards the prone figure of the sprite, raises her club, and koshes it upside the head.

((OOC: Taking two rounds of actions, one this round and the last, is that okay? Taking -4 to hit to inflict nonlethal damage on the sprite, aiming to brain it, not kill it. Roll for me if necessary. If you're ruling I missed the chance to act the first round, then I'll cast cast Magic Weapon, draw my club, and take a 5 foot step away from Andal.))
