Oh... and about the special effects, they're pretty decent considering that it was the 1970s, the BBC gave them a budget that could barely afford catering and they weren't allowed any post-production.

But the acting is a bit... meh...

1. The Deadly Assassin
I cracked a rib laughing the first time I saw that title. Deadly Assassin? As opposed to a non-deadly one? I mean really!

I remember some pretty undeadly assassins in a videogame I play. Psychonauts. Really funny game, I tells yah.

Basically these "assassins" would just walk around in a circle, holding a fake rifle, saying disjointed quotes like "I'm an assasin", "I kill important people", "I like to shoot people", "Sometimes I work for the government" and "My true motivations are clear only to myself" over and over again while being picked off one by one by a gun-weilding girl scout.

All your character needs to do to fit in is get a fake gun and say "I'm an assassin", and they don't do anything at all.

1. only if necessary for the disguise (if the supposedly drunk farmer is as polite as a royal person you know there's something wrong)
2. The rules are supposed to tell you how to do that, not order it.
3. point, but why write that in the rulebook for those who will grow up to be your rival.


I also only wrote the rules that those guys had broken as far as I could figure.

Also, I hear that the final level, the Meat Circus, is renowned for it's incredibly frustrating difficulty, but I found that level incredibly easy after I figured out what to do (at one part, where you have to dodge a sword thrown at you and swing on it to the next platform was frustrating because I didn't know how to get past it at first, but after that, smooth sailing).

Were the TvTropes guys just really, really, REALLY exaggerating about how hard it was, or am I just the most awesome player ever?

I have the same question about it's scariness. The TvTropes guys make it sound pants-crappingly, life-scarringly scary, but I don't think it would scare a toddler.

I'll be the 5th person to want to see that list then. As much as I try to stay neutral around here, there are people who really tick me off sometimes.* I just want to see if my annoyance is shared with others.

Perhaps it's only a temporary dislike though, there are people here who I've grown to approve of even if I thought they were total jerks at the start. Jason Doomsblade comes to mind, I wasn't too fond of him at first but eventually I figured out he was pretty cool. *shrugs*

Or Q, at first I thought he was a messed up old guy who didn't know when to keep his mouth shut. It turns out I was right, but he's still nice enough.

Did you miss the horribly mutated rabbits and the blood dripping, well, everywhere? And the clowns? It's pretty much every standard nightmare combined.

I've tried a more nightmarish game (granted the point of that game is to drive you insane) than that.

I actually didn't find so. It was just as easy as the the rest of the game, except for the part with dodging, catching and swinging on the sword in the wheel to the next platform.

I saw everything except for the blood. I must have missed that. And sure, I supposed those things are supposed to be scary, but I just found them to be dramatic.

I suppose difficulty and scarriness are all relative.
