[Bleachitp] Episode: Rot in the Nest of Maggots

These events are set in the Nest of Maggots. In this continuity, few inmates are political prisoners, but the 'softer' Gotei 13 still needs a place to send its murderers and other criminals.

This place provides a grim exception to the polarised Good Vs. Evil present in the rest of the setting, and while an inmate may be the kindest one day, he may be the cruellest the next.

Chief Warden Hiroshi:

This abnormally large man towers over others at roughly nine feet tall. His arms are as thick as tree trunks and his knuckles are calloused and warped like a man who punches walls every day. His narrow eyes squint out from a face latticed in scars and burns, constantly searching for deception.

The Chief Warden was once a fairly powerful member of the Gotei 13, though his exact position has been swept under the rug. He was 'promoted' to Chief Warden of the Nest of Maggots after a series of abuses of other squad member, all of whom were too terrified to give testimony against him. Without a conviction, this threat to the safety and reputation of the squads was sent to a place where his activities would have a reduced impact.

His use of physical and psychological brutality on the inmates (and on occasion, the other wardens) has bought him the infamous nickname 'The Demon Warden'.

Hiroshi held the inmate's hand (which in turn held a spoon), letting the unfortunate individual dangle helplessly in his grasp.

Nakamura here has been hiding something from you. Isn't that right?

The terrified inmate shook his head violently, holding back a squeal under the Warden's vice-like grip.

No need to be modest! This little **** has been trying to make this spoon into a Zanpakutou!

Now isn't that clever of him? Well, we were going to have a field trip to repair the outside world tomorrow, but considering how clever our little friend here is, he can think of what you'll be doing tomorrow. You'll all just have to wait until the next time Rukongai gets wrecked to go outside.

He throws the inmate to the ground.

Now then, its time for my coffee break. In fact, why don't the other wardens join me for a bit. Goodbye Nakamura.

Nakamura looks up from the floor, the looks on the other inmates' faces say it all. Many had not seen daylight in decades. None were amused.

[Goblin Music]

2nd division Vearo walks by the "Demon Warden" evnin' ladies and gents of the maggots nest, i hope your day isn't doing to badly he looks around at the place, and the people within, that he is charged to look after. (it is his job now ya know)
Deadtime shortly.

[Wraithy]

Hiroshi does not look happy.
Vearo, I know you're new to this, but that's no excuse. We are the light that holds these scumbags at bay, be friendly with them, and I will crush you.

[Fan]

A older man with lank grey hair that is shackled to the walls by his arms looks up from one of his naps, and calls out to back up Hiroishi.
"The kid has a point you know, a Riot will help no one, and only get our grubby meals taken away. Put aside your feelings of rage for now, and try to make the best of things."

It will be noted that this old man is notorious for his good behavior to the guards, and has been called a "Sympathizer" by some of the younger inmates, others see him as the voice of reason in this hell hole.

[Shadowbane]

One man, a shinigami with brown hair, is shackled to the wall. His mouth is torn and scarred, and he twitches violently against the wall.

[Wraithy]

The following morning Nakamura was placed in solitary for ten years 'for his own protection'.

Later, the Chief Warden walked into the open area the inmates ambled through their grim lives in.

Good news Pond Life! Since Nakamura isn't feeling so smart anymore, I've decided you can go out to rebuild Rukongai afterall.
His voice suddenly takes leaves its usual mocking tone.
But! This is not a day of fun and frolics. You've long since lost the right to those.

One misdeed! Just one. And you have an 'accident' during the construction. And a permanent ban on any surface activity for the rest of your stay at châteaux Maggot.

We start work tomorrow.

Many of the inmates understood. They were staying here forever. For some, these activities were the only thing staving off suicide.

[Shadowbane]

((Nice touch with the chateaux Maggot there.))

The twitching shinigami does his best to smile, and blood seeps from his torn mouth. Some thing begins to form over his face.

[H. Zee]

Kaahhh... kahaa... Kahh...

A hugely obese, bloated figure shakes the bars of its cage. The cage is hanging from the ceiling.

Surface world. Surface world. Surface world, it chants in a high-pitched voice.

The fat thing is completely bald, and so huge that it is impossible to tell if it is male or female, since it's all hidden within layers of flab. It is also incredibly pale, to the point that it almost seems to glow in the dark.

Eat things, it says happily, and giggles.

The other residents call it Eater. Three guesses why.

[Wraithy]

The wardens open the various cells and locks. While during the 'day' (when some light leaked through to give twilight), the prisoners were free to roam, they were still regularly locked up at nights.

That's the last of the morning announcements. Try not to **** things up for yourselves. A faceless warden said, releasing the locks.

[[Since most people described themselves as secured, I thought I'd add this in. Most of the time, posts will occur in the day when prisoners are able to roam. We can assume that lock up happens in deadtimes.]]

[H. Zee]

Let me out! wails Eater. Eat things! He begins to desperately gnaw on the bars of his cage.

[Wraithy]

With the last of the cells open, the atmosphere is a tense mix of wariness, excitement, and misery.

The guards return to their posts. Ready to intervene if a scuffle occurs.

[Shadowbane]

The silent shinigami limps out. His limp looks real, his wounds look real.

They're not.

He reaches into his robe to ready his zanpakutou for battle. The movement is absolutely silent, like everything else the shinigami does.

[Fan]

A withered, shackled hand, is put onto the Zanpaktou weilding Shinigami's shoulder, and a hoarse voice speaks up from behind him.
"Is that nessescary, or helpful? The guards out there all have shikai, standing alone will do nothing, if you are this determined to break out... At least get the others to help you, so one of us may break free of this dismal hole."

(fyi zanpaktous aren't allowed in here. Just thought I would mention that.)

((Wraithy and I made a deal.))

The shinigami shrugged away the shackled hand and began to draw his swords.

There would be blood.

[Shadowbane]

((Apologies for the double post.))

The shinigami whipped out his zanpakutou. They were in two machetes, and he blurred away. The guards whipped out their swords, only to have their arms, legs, heads, and other extremities suddenly severed without so much as a sound.

The shinigami blurred behind one of the guards, and calmly scratched the blades of his machetes together.

Instantly, the air was filled with a high pitched whine that sent all the captives and guards to their knees, screaming. It was followed by a wail of sound that literally shattered the zanpakutous of all the guards, and the shinigami slowly walked through them, slicing heads off left and right.

[[Sorry about the lack of onlineness in the last few days. I had an insane amount of things come up.]]

Hiroshi springs into the zanpakutou wielding prisoner, punching directly into the blades. The ungodly callousing seems to block it perfectly.

I don't know how you managed to bring in a Zanpakutou, but you won't leave with one!

As all the trouble seems to be going on,, more guards enter, with Toshiko standing in the middle of them, weaponless. He is not bound or anything, but he is now a prisoner.
