Re: TYM Soundstage D (Trial IV: Eurus vs. Tidesinger)
Alright. I have to go too, but I may not be able to get back on until tomorrow or so.

No worries, I'll just post it and you can mull over it at your leisure. Thanks again Talic!

Re: TYM Soundstage D (Trial IV: Eurus vs. Tidesinger)
Well, I was hoping not to do this...
EDIT: Operates on the assumption that she was outside her own dim-anchor, which I think is reasonable given how she moved around. We needed to do a map, but it's basically too late. My humble apologies.
Turn one:
Standard: She pulls out a shrink item(clothe-mode) ring gate, drops it on the floor in the middle of your warding. Tossing it like that turns it back into a normal item.
Move: Scrawls you an apology in lipstick.
Swift: Pins it to Isabella
Turn two:
Standard:Teleports to the area just outside the dimensional anchor
Move: flies up to the ceiling over cedric
Swift: Belt of battle for a standard
Standard: Tosses the other end of the ring gate on cedric, causing LoE to be drawn by vortex of teeth and filling your warding with force-fish.
Turn three:
Standard: Casts maw of chaos through the ring gate, targetting it at just below the ceiling of your warding
Move: GTFOs
Swift: Queues up Mysterious Ways
3 more of my turns until the vortexes expire.Last edited by Doc Roc; 2009-07-27 at 05:03 PM. Reason: Forgot to put something on Prystele's I-Pod.

Re: TYM Soundstage D (Trial IV: Eurus vs. Tidesinger)
Oh dear.
Hrm, I do wonder, though. Ring gates work through teleportation, don't they? The one inside the warding would be blocked from the anchor, but what about the one outside it?

Re: TYM Soundstage D (Trial IV: Eurus vs. Tidesinger)
They do work via teleportation, but it's not clear that they're a similar effect. Dimensional anchor and most similar effects allow continuous portals to function. Even dead magic zones allow permanent portals. If I need to, I'll rework things so that I can dispel my dimensional anchor. Shouldn't be too hard to make space for it wot with me packin' arcane fusion\spellsurge.
Could we discuss some things via PM?Last edited by Doc Roc; 2009-07-27 at 06:50 PM.

Re: TYM Soundstage D (Trial IV: Eurus vs. Tidesinger)
Ah, okay. So. I may be dead, now... hrm. Let me check and make sure there's no options I've missed.
This reminds me of that lovely Xykon quote from Start of Darkness. "In any battle, there's always a level of force against which no tactics can succeed." That may not be quite true in this case -- I could've had Delay Death and Beastland Ferocity up for the whole party, for instance, but I'm sure she could have simply chained a Disintigrate on everyone the next turn. I could've had Forceward up, but there are plenty of other, worse area effects.
And sure, I should be on for at least another hour or so.Last edited by Eurus; 2009-07-27 at 06:52 PM.

Re: TYM Soundstage D (Trial IV: Eurus vs. Tidesinger)
Yes, I picked vortex of teeth because it is a minimal amount of bull**** with maximum effect. It even gives you ways to escape it. The issue is.... well, let's talk about some things I had to do to make this a viable challenge, and if you like, you can have another go. AA may not have time to manage this thing anymore, but I'm willing to pull it into the great reaching arms of the Test of Spite.

Re: TYM Soundstage D (Trial IV: Eurus vs. Tidesinger)
Actually, I forgut; anyone who beats her initiative and makes the will save gets to live for now. But unfortunately, I didn't optimize for initiative except to give everyone an Eager, Warning weapon. No Nerveskitter, because Sol'deth burned his immediate action already. Therefore, only Cedric stands a chance. So, let's see if he makes it another round, and everyone else's rolls, too.
(1d20+33)[49] Cedric Will
(1d20+19)[20] Cedric Initiative
EDIT: Wow. The one that might've made it, foiled by a natural 1. >_>
(1d20+30)[45] Sol'deth Will
(1d20+11)[31] Sol'deth Initiative
(1d20+24)[29] Boris Will
(1d20+6)[24] Boris Initiative
(1d20+36)[41] Isabella Will
(1d20+9)[23] Isabella InitiativeLast edited by Eurus; 2009-07-27 at 07:10 PM.

Re: TYM Soundstage D (Trial IV: Eurus vs. Tidesinger)
Yeah. Isabella and Sol'deth have used their immediate actions already, and Boris and Cedric can't do anything. None of them can survive 300+ damage, and the Avoral disappears when Isabella dies. So, it seems to be the indisputable end of this party.

Re: TYM Soundstage D (Trial IV: Eurus vs. Tidesinger)
Not... Quite.
Isabella wakes up slowly, groggily, to a hellish landscape, some twisting interstitial realm between your world and the astral. Prystele has resurrected Isabella, and used her powerstone of True Mindswitch to swap bodies with the unconscious Isabella, and then vanish into the outer planes, her identity concealed forever. Your world lies in ruins, and you discover to your horror that you have become precisely the creature you sought to oppose, bereft of the vast majority of her powers and resources. You know it is only a matter of time before your former allies destroy Prystele's remaining phylacteries, killing you rather than her.
Welcome to the Planes, Berk.

Well well. Interesting, and quite cruel. Not a bad epilogue.

Re: TYM Soundstage D (Trial IV: Eurus vs. Tidesinger)
Hope this isn't in bad form to post here, but I figured now that you guys are done...
Eurus, you DID say that you cast Greater Anticipate Teleport when you were buffing outside.
Tidesinger
Okay, for her standard, she teleports in with you, and time-stops via immediate celerity as expected previously..
Again, hope this isn't rude to post.

Except that her spell resistance (if any) would overcome the effect.
