Injustice from Lord Nasher, I can hardly blame her for getting angry. And in fact, she'd have been entirely justified in violently removing Nasher from the throne after the hanging of Fenthick; the poor man did nothing wrong himself other than his associations with a traitor...whom he had no idea was a traitor.

Aribeth's actual choice of retaliations, however, was not really justifiable.

I really enjoyed the Hordes of the Underdark interpretation of Aribeth.
Such a wonderful dark secret.

After you find her spirit in hell you discover her dark secret.
She never loved Fenthick.
She was in a relationship with him because he seemed a good match and it looked appropriate.
She went and got revenge for his death because it seemed like the appropriate thing to do.

She betrayed her city her lord and her god, not for love, but for what seemed fitting.

For some reason I found the theoretically incorporeal spirit Aribeth more attractive. Maybe it is just that she was available. Did anyone else try and kill Fenthick during the main campaign?

I'd say otherwise. After all, while it is the first canonical appearance of a Paladin on the Final Fantasy series (not considering the Knight and the Mystic Knight), Cecil is...well, how can I say? For once, he seems to forget a bit about what it is to be a Paladin.
