Aya's mind

The red mecha has just jumped on top of a jet and crashed it into his opponent. His opponent responds by shooting a nuclear reactor and destroying everything in a five mile radius.

The show has the most gratuitous violence Aya has ever seen. Yet she can't stop watching.

Woah. It's not worst than that show with the sentai child soldiers fighting giants creepy monsters named after piece of mythology but still...

Aya watch a little more, astonished.

Ashley enters the drownball tourney not expecting to win but going in to have fun. Having placed her name in she heads around to see the sights exploring.

"Alright, that makes sense. We'll all meet at the contest in an hour and a half, maybe a bit earlier." She kneels down a bit to be closer (but not very) to eye level with Yuki. "Wanna go see the festival?"

The tiny talking bunny jumps onto Shizune's head.

"Ok, let's go!"

Festival (Aya, Shizune, and whomever)

The festival is taking up the entire city and filled with food, games, and prizes. There are a dozen dunk tanks, several dozen game booths to win stuffed toys from Bob, many arcades, and dozens of food booths selling highly unhealthy things.

A few of the booths have the Sandwich Tournament's symbol on their signs. Their prizes are either rare and expensive ingredients, or new cookware.

Shizune looks around the festival in amazement. "This is way bigger than my school festivals, but I guess their kinda the same." She looks at one of the booths with the sandwich logos. "Hey look, a completely good reason to play games!" She runs over to the booth to look over the game.

Reed

When Reed comes out of the shuttle, he starts to look for a place like the DNA place he went to on the other planet.

Festival Games (Shizune & Whomever)

The games are like those you would see at a New Jersey or Coney Island boardwalk.

"Ring toss" - win expensive cooking wines and liquors.
"Pop the balloons" - win a new set of knives
"Fill the balloon race" - win a customized teddy bear from Bob
"Shoot out the star" - win a stun gun

There are many more games that the GM will think of when he is coherent.

DNA Bank

Reed finds a DNA bank of the same type she sold her DNA to earlier. A few blocks away, she sees another one.

She hmms. "The ring toss looks the most easily rigged and hardest to win..."

"Let's go there!" She heads over to the booth and looks at the specifics on price and number of tosses.

Reed

"Crap. Of course there would be two."

Reed's Stuff

Fortunately, Reed's sister did sell her DNA to the first bank. Unfortunately, they still won't give out pictures without a bribe.

The second one is a different company. While they have Reed's sister's DNA on file, Reed's sister never visited there.

They are willing to purchase Reed's DNA profile, however.

Ring Toss

The ring toss is simple enough. You get a bucket of 30 rings for the human equivalent of 10 dollars, and you get a prize based on how many rings you can get onto the bottles.

1 ring: Expensive cooking wine
2 rings: Really expensive cooking wine
5 rings: Expensive as hell cooking wine

Shizune smirks. "Get me a bucket," she demands, handing over the money, and proceeds to throw the first ten rings with altering uses of skill and luck.

Aya was following Shizune whistling the dusk of the old world theme and not paying attention . she get a bucket and try her luck. She doesn't even try to aim, reasoning that even if she misses the ring she might hit the guy behind the stand wich would be just as rewarding (it's not like she could really hurt anyone with a plastic and these games are alway rigged so he probably totaly deserved it)

Shizune loses horribly. Of course, she sees nobody else who stands a chance at winning.

A few men in dark suits and colored ties walk up the the ring toss.
<Do you really want to play this? It's just a kid's game.>
<I need to practice. I'm starting to feel out of shape.>
<All right then.>

One of the men buys a bucket and goes five for five with his rings.
<You try now.>

Somehow, in some way, Aya manages to get her twentieth ring around a bottle.

<Winner! This Hungwun robot! Would you like to keep playing?>

"Nah. I'm good for now. Later maybe."

Reed

"I am trying to find my sister. She sold her DNA at one of these places before. I found out about it on that water planet. Unfortunately these people won't cut a guy a break."

Reed turns to the person working there.

"Sure I will sell my DNA."

Shizune

Shizune turns her head slowly to Aya. "Winning this can get you wine for the tournament." She jolts her head at the men in suits. "Participating at the tournament, I take it?" She asks with a hint of anger.

"Oh okay fine, I'll try again"

The woman scans Reed's DNA and hands him 10 kilos in small bills.

<I'd love to help you out with your sister, but I'm just not allowed to without some sort of political or governmental action. You know, privacy laws and such.>

Ring Toss

Aya fails to win with her remaining rings. The man hands Aya a bottle of alcohol of the sort used for flambe.

<We're not really competing. We're eliminating.>
<We've got to get rid of that ****ing old man who keeps winning. Makes our organization look bad. Anyway, I'm Butler G. This is Butler S and Butler C>
<Nice to meet you, maids.>

[Siren]

Reed

"They both do. The other one has a picture of her though. Privacy laws...you can plainly see by the DNA that we are related."

[Verlaufen]

Shizune

"Wait, do you mean Butler X?" These people seemed interesting.. but what do they mean by eliminating?

<Lots of people are related. But she still has the right to be left alone unless she is a registered missing person, a criminal, or lost.>

Ring Toss

<Yeah, that old man. Making our organization look bad since he ****ing quit. We're here to bring him back to HQ for punishment.>
<We had to retire his letter after he left. It made us upset.>

"He quit?" She asked with hope and tentativeness. If this happened, there were still many obstacles, but one big one out of the way.

Ring Toss

<He left the organization years ago, about when he stopped taking students. Left a smudge on our reputation. Showing him up at the tournament he loves might be able to stop the old man.>

Yuki did say he was known as the Ex-Butler. But Butler X still remains dangerous.
