Re: Shipping VIII: Yes, Eight. No, really. We are THAT insane.
Sadly, no ships. But I have been reading more and trying to get my creative energies mustered again into an unstoppable host...
*ahem* sorry, been reading too much Song of Ice and Fire.
In any case, I at least want to read ships and make comments.
And I did miss all you guys.Last edited by TwoBitWriter; 2009-10-05 at 12:03 PM.

Alright, where should we go?
And last night I could have sworn that I had this lovely idea for a ship floating around in my brain, but thoughts of my lit analysis essay (due Wednesday) and a bunch of American history stuff (due Thursday) seem to have driven it from my brain. Procrastination FTW?My preferred pronouns: they, them, their

Someone write Rabbit some happy, fluffy ships.
Please.
She needs them.

Somewhere Else
TwoBitWriter/EleventhHour
SpoilerTwoBit swirled his glass again. Another night. Another drink. Another bust. It never changed. At some point women even stopped responding to his pick-up lines. Stupid book. He didn’t even get through the first 100.
Gathering his courage, he gulped his drink down, ready to scope the place out and give the whole romance thing another shot. Spinning in his seat, he nearly fell backwards out of his seat when he spotted the face that was leaning towards him.
“Gah!”
The girl giggled. She had silver hair that could almost be mistaken for fur and ears that tipped upwards slightly. “Hi there.”
TwoBit held one hand over his chest and took a few deep breaths. “Don’t scare me like that. What are you doing here Eleven?”
“Oh, I dunno. Probably the same as you. Trying to fill the void with booze and boobs.” She cracked a sly grin.
TwoBit just shook his head. He knew perfectly well from her ex-boyfriends that Eleven was just playing with him. Looking around the bar, he saw a few people around, but they were all pretty much coupled up. “Slim pickings tonight.”
“Ugh. Don’t tell me that.” Eleven frowned. TwoBit just sighed and shook his head. “Fine. Then let’s go somewhere else.” She grabbed his hand and started dragging him out of the bar.
“But where?” TwoBit said as he reluctantly followed, barely able to give the barkeep his due in time before being whisked outside.
“Who cares? Somewhere else.” Eleven slowed down a bit as she stepped outside, breathing in the night air. It was only late evening, so there was still plenty of time to do whatever they pleased.
TwoBit just shrugged and started walking next to her down the sidewalk. They enjoyed the silence for a while until TwoBit got a little uncomfortable. “How long are we going to keep this up?”
“What? Walking? As long as we want I guess.”
“Not that. I mean this. Diving into relationships, having them fail, falling into the bar hopping depression until the other one drags us out again.”
Eleven just shrugged. “Until we find the relationship that works I think.” She paused, spotting something in the distance. “Oh! I forgot! The fair came in this week. Come on TwoBit!” Eleven dashed off towards the lights.
TwoBit shook his head, unable to stop himself from cracking into a grin. “Hey! Wait up!” He dashed off after her, barely able to keep up with her enthusiasm. He caught up with her at the gates as she was buying the tickets. Eleven grinned before ushering him inside before he could even catch his breath.
Indeed, it seems catching his breath wasn’t an option as he got dragged to the see the animals. Then to bumper cars, where he could swear she was trying to actually kill him. Followed by the haunted house, where her face ended up buried in his side. Next were the games, where TwoBit proved his manly strength by popping balloons with a dart… well at least he won Eleven a big stuffed cat anyhow. Finally, the Ferris Wheel.
As they followed the curved path upwards, TwoBit smiled. “Thanks for dragging me out of that smelly old bar. I had a great time.”
Eleven scooted over and snuggled close to him, wrapping one arm around his waist, leaning her head against his shoulder. “Thanks. So did I.” She closed her eyes and smiled, enjoying the closeness and feel of him. They simply enjoyed the silence and break from the shouting crowds for a bit, relaxing peacefully in each other’s company.
“Eleven?”
“Yeah.”
“I love you.”
She looked up into his searching eyes, seeing the joy and ache that blossomed there. Whispering she replied. “I love you too.” She slowly leaned in and upwards, drawing a gentle passionate kiss from him.
Wrapping around each other in the lover’s embrace, the wheel reached its apex as fireworks went off in the distance.
Silver is not a color to be used in ships. I like my eyes.

Re: Shipping VIII: Yes, Eight. No, really. We are THAT insane.
Well, off the top of my head, I can only really do this:
Letter
SpoilerI feel I have to write this down, because it will never pass my shy lips in person. It always feels too contrived, not a natural part of a conversation, but I think it needs to be said.
I love you. I never dreamed of such a thing as this, a year - no a few months ago I wouldn't have believed it was possible, let alone that it could happen to someone so flawed as me. But here we are.
I won't tire you with the declarations of how little I deserve you, because I know they just lead to arguments as neither of us will admit a failing in the other, except of course the failure to recognise their own specialness. You should be able to take it as read by now.
I'll limit myself to the wonders of you, a subject on which I could probably babble for hours, though I try not to.
To me, you are absolute perfection, and I will love you long after the sun goes dark and the galaxy collapses.
Thank you for all you have given me.
Words cannot express my gratitude for knowing you feel the same way...
Edit: I tell a lie. A little thought later, I can also do this:
Love You - DD/Rabbit
SpoilerThe perfect summer. The kind you dream of as a child. The kind that usually only appears in montages on TV or in movies. That’s what it seemed to be.
“You’re so childish.”
“That’s the fun of it! I’m young and free and fearless! Wheeee!”
She smiled as he ran across the fields barefoot in all directions.
“Careful, you’ll startle the cows down there.”
“They can’t catch me though! Watch!”
It was true of course. He ran straight through the cowfield, leaving all the chaos and bovine confusion behind him. The one time he scared a cow in front of him he jumped so much at the shock he actually hurdled it...
“C’mon, come down onto the beach, it’s lovely!”
“The wind feels strong enough to blow my face off! I’ll stay under cover, thanks, D- eeek!”
Not taking no for an answer, he’d tackled her into a tight hug. They rolled down the sand...
“Now, no ‘sensible’ nonsense today, no frowns, FUN. OK?”
The fair was for such a random event. They both screamed as the rollercoaster turned upside down, and laughed about it afterwards, listened to the songs, played the silly little games with their strange names, kept up on adrenaline until they finally collapsed on a hill in each other’s arms.
“Dandelion?”
“Milkweed.”
On rolling aside, it turned out they were both wrong.
“Hey, boat on the canal! Let’s hitch a lift!”
“We’d be faster walking.”
“But that’s not the point now is it?”
The owner being of a kindly disposition, they lay on the roof and floated past the world a while, staring up at a rainbow.
“I love you.”
“Rabbit, wait up!”
“Hey, you choose to ride your old tricycle while I’m on my bike, you gotta face the consequences.”
“Wait up and I’ll buy ice cream.”
“Candy?”
“Lollipops?”
“Popsicles?”
“Liquorice?”
“Ew.”
“Contrariwise, if you leave me, I’ll buy nothing and go home free.”
“Oh no you don’t. Come on...”
“I’m a Cowboy, you’re an Indian. Bang! Ooh, doggy!”
While she played with the forget-me-nots in her hair, he streaked off to play with his newfound canine friend, not a care in the world. Well, maybe one care.
“Give the ball back, you mangy mutt. Rabbit, the dog stole our baseball, but- oof!”
She’d glomped him from behind and kissed him on the back of the neck.
“Love you.”
“Love you.”
“Love you.”
“Love you.”
...
“Love you.”
And these but a few snippets of the whole. Dream of a summer’s day, a summer’s joy, a perfect summer’s delight. Once upon a time, it happened. Never forget it.Last edited by Thufir; 2009-10-05 at 08:23 PM.
