One Bad Decision: part four, consequences drawing inward!
Starring: Reinholdt
SpoilerBrilliant light flashed in his eyes. Reinhold clung tightly to the door handle as his eyes adjusted to the sudden change. Slowly, the room in front of him began to come into focus. White walls; tiled floor; high two-way mirrors mounted high on three of the four walls. The room was barren of furnishings of any kind. On the opposite wall from him was a single door. Reinholdt stepped slowing into the door, letting is swing close behind him and lock with a soft click. On the floor was a large X. He swallowed.
Is this the end? Cause there is an Ex this time... Hello?
He walked to the door and tried the handle. It turned slowly in his hand. He gave the door a pull and it swung open. Rein stepped back. A man in a nice suit stood before him, smiling slightly and holding a gun in one hand.
"Ooh, I'm sorry Reinholdt, but that was the incorrect choice. But you've been a real sport."
You! You're the one whose been taunting me this whole time! What is this place? Why make me go through all this?
"Well, this place is a test facility. We test... things, here. As for why you, well, you should really ask your predecessor that one. He is the one who signed the paperwork and agreed to be cloned and experimented on. Now, would you like to say any parting words? Any regrets?"
He leveled the gun at Reinholdt.
Regrets? Please, lets be reasonable!
The man pulled the trigger. Rein felt an explosion of pain as the bullet ripped through his lung, blazing a fiery path through his chest as it went. He dropped to the floor, writhing in pain. He rolled onto his stomach and looked up at the man. Regrets? Yeah, he could thing of one that stood out in particular...
Tune in next time for the stunning conclusion!Last edited by Jacklu; 2009-10-07 at 12:22 PM.

Waiting Room Blues
Eleventh Hour/Reinholdt
SpoilerSlowly, her eyes drifted closed, and she sighed, feeling utterly lost in the small room, obscured from the typical clinical smells, instead left with the droning TV and crying children in the waiting room.
Anxiety would kill her, one of these days.
And so she sat. Waiting. Waiting.
Rules kept her away. Immediate family only, the unsmiling lady in white had said.
And so Eleventh had merely waited outside, for two hours.
Her heart pounded in her head, in time to the clacking clock above it. Why weren't these chairs anymore comfortable? People spent hours in them, sweaty plastic stuck to cheap vinyl.
How much longer could it take? The more the clock ticked away behind her, the more fear developed in her stomach.
Was it bad? It had to be. It wouldn't be taking so much time any other way.
She had already called into work.
An hour, two hours.
Before long, the sun had slipped behind the horizon, no longer shining in her face.
And, finally, he wheeled out of those doors, a sheepish smile on his face.
"Reinholdt..." She breathed his name softly, relief flooding her senses.
"This is why it hurts the way it hurts.
You have too many words in your head.
There are too many ways to describe the way you feel.
You will never have the luxury of a dull ache.
You must suffer through the intricacy of feeling too much"

Mixed feelings on that one. I hate having people worry about me. Even if I'm going in for complicated surgery.
Very well written Rabbit.

Re: Shipping VIII: Yes, Eight. No, really. We are THAT insane.
This is not an HVV, Inc. Continuation (That one is coming tomorrow, my time, most likely):
The End of the World
Loopy/It Doesn't Really Matter
SpoilerLoopy had always joked that him settling down, finding Love, stopping his womanizing ways would be the Seventh Sign of the Apocolypse.
To this day, hes sure the two are unrelated, but the timing was uncanny.
In the end, it wasn't at all like the Bible, zombies didn't rise out of the Earth's cold, hard embrace. There was no plague.
In the end, Mother Earth had just had it. She decided to end Her cruel experiment and wipe out all life - just to get rid of the Virus called Humanity.
And She attacked with all She had. Fire and floods. Hurricanes. Earthquakes. Volcanoes. All kinds of Hell rose up to devour everything - at least until the Humans disappeaered.
It was during this hell that he met Her, and they promised that they'd meet. Here. Right here. Come Hell or High Water. Because they would perservere. They would survive. The society they had both spent so long railing aginst would see to that. The Law and Order was actually doing some good for once.
And so Loopy stood on the peir and checked his watch. She was supposed to be here an hour ago. Collasal waves whipped up by the typhoon in the wrong hemisphere crashed around him and the too-distant voices of riot police shouted at him to come with them. Into shelter. Into saftey.
No. I need to wait here. he would think - defiant to the society. As long as She came back, as long as She returned.
He barely knew Her, and he loved Her.
The last sound he heard was whipsering Her name as the storm surge crashed in, taking him as it had her.
Yes, the copious capitlisation is intentional.Last edited by Thanatos 51-50; 2009-10-07 at 10:57 PM.
