"HhhhEH" barks the stranger with the spear at Grigor's words. "Ill-met, then, ha-ha..."

She steps up to the thrashing threshold, blade down and ready. "...Foul things are afoot, or so the gods tell me."

She snarls as she swings the war-scythe low, the head of the weapon clicking inwards from an upright to a hooked configuration on a geared contraption where a normal polearm would usually have mere bolts holding the blade in place. The blow flashes for the blonde bastard's legs even as Ranelath says, "I warn thee once. Repent or perish."

    Grigor, human cleric

Grigor isn't quite happy about how the situation unfolds. At least he is at the back of the others and thus can't raise his weapon effectively anyway.

So he just shrugs and readies his harp, maybe his companions could use some moral support. They certainly don't need any encouragement to use violence though.

    Round 1 (cont.)
Ranelath follows up the trip by hitting the downed man with the butt of his scythe (( Improved Trip follow-up: 1d20+10=21, 2d4+4=7, successful )).

The short man starts to wave his hands in the air and speak strange syllables with a rhythmic drone. (( Megiddo recognizes it as the start of the spell hypnotism)

Redithidoor moves up to the doorway and feebly asks, “Uh, guys, aren’t we getting a little carried away?”

    Round 2

Not hearing Redithidoor, Jaroo simply responds to Ranelath’s demand for rpentance. “Repent?! Repent from what? You maniac!” As he says this, he moves to help the blond man out of the way (( Successfully Aiding to boost his AC )).

Megiddo will hold back, not quite convinced enough to risk killing them accidentally. With a few arcane words and gestures, he sends four streaks of silver light into the group.

    OOC: Casting Magic Missile
    Jaroo: (1d4+1)[5]
    Blond: (1d4+1)[5]
    Shortie: (2d4+2)[5]

Shortie will need to make a DC 10+dmg Concentration check to maintain his spell.

Megiddo will also take a move action to look around. Druids often have animal friends, and he is convinced there is another person hiding somewhere as well.

rolls in OOC thread, 3 spot, 17 listen.

Tell sends his chain past Jaroo and the blond to strike at the short human casting a spell.

    (1d20+10)[28]
    (2d4+7)[11] + (2d6)[8]

Short guy probably has cover, since Tell is striking past Jaroo and the blond. Not striking for nonlethal. If he hits the caster has to make a concentration check DC 10+dmg

Grigor begins to pluck the strings of his harp, invoking the magic of the music to enhance his allies' fighting prowess (to the tune (hah!) of +1 to to-hit and damage).

His heart isn't really in it though. damn peer pressure.

At least they are attacking to subdue rather then kill.

Still, if this turn sour, this is one village he and the others better avoid in the furture.

    Jaroo’s Lodge: Planting 10, Mid-afternoon

    Round 3 (cont.)

The blond man takes up a defensive stance and positions himself a little more between Tell and the short man. Without dropping his guard, he takes a swing at Tell, but misses.

    (( Tell’s turn. ))

    (( Still Map #7 ))

    Round 3 update (( because I am blind… ))

The swordsman easily avoids Tell’s attack.

Ranelath moves to neutralize the spellcaster, and gives him a few solid thumps (( Nonlethal full attack: 1d20+6=26, 2d4+4=6, 1d20+1=18, 2d4+4=11, both successful )).

“%^*& this!” the short man says as he backs against Jaroo’s hearth. He starts chanting out another spell. However, Megiddo quickly gives him a rough telekinetic blast. The man slams against the mantle before crumpling to the ground, out cold.

Unable to see this choice bit of violence, Redithidoor simply asks Megiddo, “What do they need to explain? We broke down the door!”

    Round 4

“What have you done‽” the druid shouts, “That man is my guest!” Jaroo then engages Ranelath, though his glare at Megiddo indicates it is simply because Ranelath is in the way. He strikes with such ferocity that Ranelath can even feel it through his armor (( 3 damage. lethal. ))

    Round 3 (cont.)
Tell easily evades the swordsman’s parting blow, but receives a sure thunk from Jaroo (( 4 damage )).

With one last mighty blow, Ranelath succeeds in knocking the swordsman out cold. He then turns his attention on Jaroo, but the blow bounces off some armor hidden under the druid’s robe. (( Full Attack Nonlethal: 1d20+6=23, 2d4+4=6, 1d20+1=19, 2d4+4=10, one success, one failure ))

    Round 4
Jaroo looks at his fallen friends. Suddenly, with a surprising display of dexterity, he jumps on his bed, and then off, of it behind Ranelath, all the while presenting no opening for a counterattack from the Paladin. As he runs out the door, however Megiddo takes a swipe at him, though Jaroo easily doges that (( AoO: 1d20+2=15, 1d8-1=2, fail )).

    Grigor, human cleric

Grigor suddenly finds himself face-to-face with Jaroo, just before the druid tries to run past him. Since his armour is slowing him down, Grigor could never catch up with him if he was to evade him. Could Grigor catch him? Should he even try?

As much as Grigor disdains the outburst of violence he witnessed, he also realizes that something is off here. And maybe, just maybe the situation can still be salvaged.

But the chances for this happening might actually be better if the druid doesn't get to alert the town guards.

So, with a heavy heart, Grigor drops his instrument and tries to grapple the fleeing druid.

    Jaroo’s Lodge: Planting 10, Mid-afternoon

    Round 4 (cont.)
Jaroo tries to fend off Grigor with his staff, but the cleric ducks under the incoming blow and makes contact with the druid (( Successful touch attack )). However, Jaroo wrestles free before Grigor can tighten his grip (( Grapple Check failure )).

Tell walks out of the cabin, surprised by the spry old man's acrobatics.

He swings his chain in a deadly arc, trusting in Grigor to mend the old man when he falls.

    Jaroo’s Lodge: Planting 10, Mid-afternoon

    Round 4 (cont.)

Jaroo tries to duck behind a nearby tree, but to no avail. Strangely, the chain does not seem to bite into Jaroo as hard as it normally does to normal humans (( Spot: 1d20+13=24 )).

Ranelath follows Tell’s lead in following attacking Jaroo, but the druid is too quick for him (( Attack: 1d20+10=16, 2d4+4=12, fail ))

Megiddo focuses his mind on his blade as he steps up to the doorway, which flies through the air, circling around Jaroo, or perhaps an imposter, and striking him in the back.

    Jaroo’s Lodge: Planting 10, Mid-afternoon

(( I don’t think control object actually allows for flying. The power simply grants a speed of 20. But it can still attack Jaroo from the ground. ))

    Round 4 (cont.)
The sword crawls behind Jaroo, making a terrible clanking and screeching noise as the metal bends in ways never intended. It take a swing at Jaroo, who neatly dodges it.

Redithidoor continues to plead with Grigor, “Now, this is just ridiculous. Can we please stop this? Or I’m going to have to go get the militia.”

    Round 5
Jaroo breaks off from the fight and starts running towards the village, taking a blow to the back from Tell as he flees (( Due to reach, he gets an AoO despite Jaroo’s withdraw action: AoO: 1d20+10=21, 2d4+7=13, Success )).

"This man is not Jaroo. Have you not realized that yet?" Megiddo will state as he focuses his mind, and everyone can hear a bell ringing steadily in their mind, faintly, as if from a long distance away.

My action, once it is Megiddo's turn:
    Spoiler
    Show

Manifesting Control Air on my turn, centered on Jaroo. The effect varies depending on the current level of wind in the area. Megiddo will augment sufficient for a windstorm if he can, or to a severe wind if he can't. Jaroo is either checked (can't move forward against the wind) or knocked down, depending.

If there is even 1mph worth of wind, I can make a windstorm. If there isn't, I will make the wind direction so that he can't move directly away from us.

This is based on size, there is no save.

    Grigor, human cleric

"Imposter? How should I know, I#m seeing this man the first time today."

Seeing the man run away at full speed and knowing he can never catch up with him, Grigor just shrugs and readies his bow.

"Fine, if you want, I can try and shoot his leg or something."
    Spoiler

I guess stowing his instrument and readying his bow will cost Grigor his whole turn.

Tell will cast Soften Earth and Stone in the area around Jaroo. He will also move forward 20 ft.

    Jaroo’s Lodge: Planting 10, Mid-afternoon

    Round 4 (cont.)
Grigor puts his instrument away and readies his bow.

Jaroo begins kicking up grass as the dirt underneath is loosened and broken up by Tell’s spell.

    Ranelath, chases after Jaroo.

Suddenly, wind dramatically changes direction and picks up in speed. Dirt, grass, and leaves begin flying and Jaroo is knocked off his feet. (( Sufficient wind for a Windstorm, direction changed from blowing to the Northwest to blowing towards the Southwest. Requires full augmentation on Megiddo’s part. )) Unfortunately, Tell and Redithidoor, both caught on the edge of the wind are also knocked over (( Tell Fort:
1d20+8=9, fail )). Ranelath manages to struggle and keep his feet (( Fort: 1d20+10=27, success )).

(( Still don’t have internet at home due to the tornado, and the library is closing. So Jaroo’s action will have to wait. ))
