Re: Dragons of Autumn-DragonLance II
Kalrin smiles, "You've put my heart at rest Tigerlilly, I feel much safer now." Kalrin follows closely behin Pearl and Bryce, when the others begin to charge, he will cast ghost sound to mimic a similar charge coming from the western exit.

Re: Dragons of Autumn-DragonLance II
Pearl, Bryce and Hector run around the corner and charge the suddenly very surprised draconians.
Gneiss and Lagri stay back for a moment as they wait.
Kalrin casts ghost sound and makes it sound like reinforcements are coming from the west
The draconians look to the north, some look to the west. They are surprised and disorganized and some fumble to draw their weapons.

Re: Dragons of Autumn-DragonLance II
Pearl
SpoilerIn the surprise round Pearl will have dashed past the draconian labeled D1, and will get as close to C9 as she could. The lantern gets dropped at C8, or thereabouts. This round, she will either complete the movement to that square, or (if she made it there last round) will 5' step south to C10. If she's finishing the move to C9 this round, she'll turn it into a charge attack, increasing her attack roll by 2 and reducing her AC to 18. Either way, she's using 2 points of power attack:
Attack: (1d20+8)[28] Damage: (2d6+11)[20]
And, being optimistic: Reflex save, in case the sword gets stuck in something abruptly stone-like: (1d20+5)[20]Last edited by Toliudar; 2010-02-12 at 04:50 PM.

Hector
Noticing that Pearl made a dash for the most distant target, Hector keeps to the one close at hand. He stabs forward with his ranseur, putting all the strength behind the blow.
SpoilerSurprise Round
Partial charge to F4. Using PA -4/+8, and +2 for the charge, attacking D1.
ChargeAR - (1d20+8)[25] and DamageRoll - (2d4+17)[24].
AC 17 until next Round 1.
Round 1
Second attack on D1, if he's still alive. Use PA -3/+6 this time.
AttackRoll - (1d20+7)[22] and Damage - (2d4+15)[20]
If D1 is dead, charge to G6 instead and attack B1. Add +2 to the attack roll, and AC will remain 17.

Gneiss
Gneiss follows close on his friends' heels and dashes directly for the robed figure. He strikes low, looking for a vulnerable point in the creature's belly.
SpoilerSurprise round:
Charge to G7, attacking the robed draconian B1.
Attack: (1d20+6)[25] vs. flat-footed AC
Damage: (1d6+3)[8], plus Sneak Attack Damage: (3d6)[12]
Round 1:
Move to H9, attacking B1 if he's still alive, or D3 if B1 is already dead
Main Hand Attack: (1d20+4)[16] vs. flat-footed AC
Damage: (1d6+3)[5], plus Sneak Attack Damage: (3d6)[12]
Off Hand Attack: (1d20+4)[22] vs. flat-footed AC
Damage: (1d4+2)[4], plus Sneak Attack Damage: (3d6)[8]
Gneiss's AC increases to 19.
(This assumes that H9 is open, rather than full of wicker dragon; if H9 is unavailable, then move to G9 if B1 is still alive when Gneiss's turn comes up, or H10 if B1 is already dead.)_______________________________________________

Lagri's inattention had cost him initiative, but the portentous shuffle & clamor of a fresh fight roused him. Re: Dragons of Autumn-DragonLance II
Hector charges D1 and brings his ranseur down in a vicious arc, taking the draconian out with one blow. It turns to stone, trapping his ranseur as he dies.
Pearl rushes past and drops the lantern before she gets to her target. Hector is already engaging D1 as she goes past him and on to D4. Pearl swings her greatsword around and decapitates the draconian before he has a chance to respond. His head and body turn to stone and fall over, crashing to the ground.
Bryce charges beneath the looming head of the wicker dragon in the alcove. He attacks the robed draconian. This draconian stands 6 feet tall with large horn-tipped wings that rise nearly a foot higher than his shoulders. Bryce attacks with his longsword and the draconian dodges, but not enough. Bryce gets in a good strike, drawing blood from the draconian.
Gneiss follows the others and finds that it will be hard to engage any of the remaining living draconians and it will take some maneuvering. He takes the route to attacking D2 and goes low, catching the draconian before he can respond. He disembowels the draconian and wrenches his shortsword out just before the draconian turns to stone.
Kalrin walks around the corner and hangs back, ready to cast a spell if needed.
Lagri finds that his inattentiveness has cost him as draconians are turning to stone left and right leaving only 2 standing. B1 is already in melee with Bryce and Gneiss is standing next to him blocking the way to D3. ((Not sure where you want to move to))
Tygerlilly sticks close to Kalrin, she has daggers ready in both hands.
B1 takes a 5 foot step back to stand back to back with the one remaining draconian. D3 stands back to back with B1 and he’s drawn his longsword.
((the wicker dragon takes up the alcove, leaving no extra space. sorted thru all the actions and the above is what I ended up with, so many good rolls, poor draconians. I left the markers on the map to show where the stone corpses are.))

Pearl
Leave the robed dragon-man to the others, Pearl does what she can to prevent any thought of escape. Looping around to the far side of the alcove, she swings at the dragon-man who's guarding the leader's back.
SpoilerMoving south and then east to get around the statue of D4, Pearl is hoping to use a move action to get to F11. She'll then take a swing at D3.

"HA!" Lagri cries not so much in joviality as with the incensed intent of murder. The barbarian bounds over the momentary hurdle formed by Hector's ranseur and the stony remains of his felled draconian. Lagri draws his halberd close to the hip and tackles the enemy kirjanik barb first.
SpoilerLagri will be moving to F8 or some like space. Making the attack a charge seeing as the move is expressed with a single vector greater than 10 feet in length.

Re: Dragons of Autumn-DragonLance II
Hector
Hector holds back a curse as his ranseur remains stuck in the draconian. He takes a quick glance at the battlefield and, seeing he is in no immediate danger, he flung his pack to the ground and reached for the shovel tied on it. The laces weren't solid and he wrenched it off quickly.
His new weapon at the ready, Hector prepared to join the fray again.
SpoilerI'll assume getting the shovel out will require a round. If it is less, he will delay and take Gneiss' current position, at F7. Hopefully there'll be something left to whack next turn (coincidently, what damage dice do I roll with a shovel?)

Re: Dragons of Autumn-DragonLance II
Hector tugs ineffectively at his ranseur, but it’s stuck in the draconian’s stony corpse. He drops his pack and wrenches off the shovel. He turns, ready to attack. ((A shovel will have a -4 to attack since you are not proficient in it, for damage 1d8+STR mod))
Pearl goes around the statue of D4 to attack D3, her attack strikes his chain shirt and slides off to one side.
Bryce’s attack misses as the robed draconian side steps the blade.
Gneiss squeezes between the statue and the well. He attacks the robed draconian again, keeping him off center. He slashes with his dagger and finds something solid underneath those robes, blood drips off the dagger and onto the floor.
Kalrin remains back with Tygerlilly watching the fight. He keeps an action readied, just in case they try to run, but it doesn't look like they will.
Lagri charges into the battle, he stabs at the robed draconian, barb first. The halberd’s point goes into the draconian's flesh. The cloth rips and Lagri exposes the draconian’s innards as they spill out when he yanks his halberd up and away.
Tygerlilly is ready for anything. She bounces up and down as she watches and tries to be patient.
The robed draconian’s flesh shrivels and crumbles from its bones in a cloud of dust as Lagri is disemboweling it. The bones explode outward, hitting everyone within a 10 foot radius. ((Bryce, Lagri, Gneiss, Pearl dam: 4, Reflex save DC 14 for 2 dam))
D3 ducks and most of the shards miss him, although a few pieces are embedded in his wings. He attacks Pearl with his longsword and tries to bite her, but her defenses hold strong against him.

Re: Dragons of Autumn-DragonLance II
Pearl
Pearl coughs, surprised at the explosion. What next? Do some of these dragon men turn into pillars of fire? Banks of poisonous fog? She tried to picture a hospital for these dragon-men. They couldn't use beds, because some of them would turn to stone and break them. They couldn't have any delicate containers for the medicine, in case a patient died nearby. It would be a hard life, to be sure.
Pushing such thoughts to the back of her mind, she worked to regain her warrior focus, and swings - a bit more delicately - at the creature.

Re: Dragons of Autumn-DragonLance II
Hector rushes forward and almost bashes the draconian’s skull in…((crit didn’t confirm))
Pearl’s sword is deflected by the draconian’s chain shirt.
Bryce can’t quite move into the alcove, the wicker dragon takes up most of the space. He finds the best spot and attacks with both longsword and shield. He misses with his weapon but, he bashes the draconian roundly with his shield. The draconian is reeling by this point, one hit to the head and one to the side.
Gneiss goes in for a sneak attack and his first attack takes the draconian down. He doesn’t quite withdraw his weapon in time and it’s trapped in the stone draconian.
Kalrin goes over to check out the remains of the robed draconian. His robes are still there, blood stained and ripped from the battle. He can’t determine much about the draconian and he’s never heard of them before. There are a few items remaining (they didn’t blow up), short sword, long bow, and a few pouches.
Lagri is a bit slow to duck the blast.
Tygerlilly follows Kalrin, she tucks away her daggers and pokes one foot at the robes, That was interesting. Exploding when they die. I wonder how that works? Are they born with it?

Pearl nods, and immediately goes to get her lantern. She sheathes her sword and slides her bow off of her back. She turns to Tygerlily.
"Must be strange - feeling like you're carrying an explosive inside of you your whole life. Say, could you look that wicker dragon over - make sure there's nothing hidden in it or anything?
