    That and getting into Oxford with five A levels Fred. Pretty impressive in a way. I got thirty quid by comparison (nadda for GCSE if you wanted to know)

    I'm not Welsh. Dihan's Welsh. Koorly isn't. And yes, there'll be a thank you letter and a visit. Mainly because I don't know her address even though I know where she lives.
    Unless she moved. I know one of them moved recently, but which? For the record, I have eight great - aunts and ten great - uncles still living.

    I got nothing for GCSEs either. Ironically, it turns out that in three years I'll have the last number of GCSEs out of myself, Little Brother and Little Sister.
    Little Brother has fifteen GCSEs (or equivalents) and Little Sister will have a massively impressive 20 GCSEs (or equivalents).

    There is something I hate about my reading list though. Victorian long poems. Aurora Leigh, In Memoriam, The Bothie of Tober na Vuolich, The Princess and shorter longer poems.
    They are doing my head in.
    This is from the girl who read Paradise Lost in ten days including notes and introduction; the poetic Iliad and Odyssey (and prose Aeneid) and Dante's Divine Comedy.
    The Victorian ones are so mindnumbingly boring and long and convoluted. I like Tennyson, but I hate long poems.

    But I am amused by Goblin Market by Christina Rosetti.
    Oh, I read part of this in E Lit earlier this year. It was very amusing, read the extract in the spoiler to find out:
    Spoiler

    She cried "Laura," up the garden,
    "Did you miss me ?
    Come and kiss me.
    Never mind my bruises,
    Hug me, kiss me, suck my juices
    Squeezed from goblin fruits for you,
    Goblin pulp and goblin dew.
    Eat me, drink me, love me;
    Laura, make much of me:
    For your sake I have braved the glen
    And had to do with goblin merchant men."

    Laura started from her chair,
    Flung her arms up in the air,
    Clutched her hair:
    "Lizzie, Lizzie, have you tasted
    For my sake the fruit forbidden?
    Must your light like mine be hidden,
    Your young life like mine be wasted,
    Undone in mine undoing,
    And ruined in my ruin;
    Thirsty, cankered, goblin-ridden?"
    She clung about her sister,
    Kissed and kissed and kissed her:
    Tears once again
    Refreshed her shrunken eyes,
    Dropping like rain
    After long sultry drouth;
    Shaking with aguish fear, and pain,
    She kissed and kissed her with a hungry mouth.

    I rarely know what my body is saying to me. and I was wondering out loud if it was more than the token pain from knowing that there was an needle in me, and then she tried to help.

    Well, Fred, Nameless, it was a fair cop, but I don't think we'll be getting Deary into a bikini anytime soon.
    Shush you. Exercising just stresses me out, takes time away from things that I'd rather do/am obligated to do, and makes me feel like I eat too much.

    @Koorli: he exaggerates. I met a guy the first week of school who told me his name was Voldemort Evans and that his friends called him Voldy. There was no nose-chopping involved.

    Don't do TOO many more pages while I'm in class....

    So why do you live in Wales if you're not welsh? I thought there was some kind of racial tension between welsh and non-welsh and corns and non-corns.

    Or are you one of those game cornish hens?

    So the actual plan is that we kidnap this Evans character and saw off his nose before breaking his mind and will and leaving him bandaged and insane and repeating the word "Voldo" to himself before we sell him to the Japanese.

    I think you can pretty much figure out my motivations from my evil plans. Or rather, my adaptations and modifications to the plans sent to me in my dreams by Cobiky.

    Also, I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it if you start swimming
