Re: Doomriders: A Campaign Journal
Wow. I thought for sure the post with the magic system would be filled with meta-spoilers, meta-meta-spoilers, and such.
I didn't understand it all, but if it's simpler than the standard system, it works for me.
One thing, though. it has charts for 1st-10th level... isn't this E6? as in, epic 6th, were after 6th level you only get feats? and could there be other arangements of Skill-power stats? like Cha-Wis (diplomat), rather than Wis-Cha (priest), or using the physical stats, Cha-Str (War-sorcerer), Dex-Wis (monk), Int-Con (psion), or such? physical stats may mean there's some more cheese, so Tam may have banned them, but would it be theoreticly possible? or the same for each (Int-Int, ArcheMagi)? not likely, just throwing some ideas against the wall, seeing if they knock it down. and if there's treasure behind.Demilich avatar by Smuchmuch. Re: Doomriders: A Campaign Journal
We're not E6. We hit epic level at 6th, but we continue to level until 10th. We could, in theory, go higher than that, but then we become demigods. Not unheard of in Tam's campaigns, but they had to kill other demigods first and we don't appear to be in conflict with any at the moment, aside from Fluffy's old run-in with the Sea Witch.
As for other casting combinations, I don't think Tam wants to go that direction. And I know for sure we don't want to have 2 of the same attribute, as it was expressly forbidden in the case of Wis-Wis.
That said, there may be a feat for it at some point in the future, maybe. Who knows?

Nah, you were epic at level one. You just became more powerful as you leveled. :3

Re: Doomriders: A Campaign Journal
Aw, well thanks!
Also, I've talked to Tam again, regarding some of the questions I didn't know how to answer:
No physical stat mods to casting. Sorry. No doubling up with a single stat, either. As for movement, yes, you can choose to move after your spell goes off. Your next action will still be at the same initiative count it was last round.

Re: Doomriders: A Campaign Journal
Well, THAT was interesting. I discovered an interesting side effect of not having to breathe. It doesn't matter if you loose your lungs. Entirely.
The writeup is coming in due time. These next 2 should be quick. (I'm currently 1 behind in writing.)
Wow. Absolutely wow.
Not too many spoilers party people! We want... some... suspense!

Re: Doomriders: A Campaign Journal
Hey, is anyone else familiar with the infliction of the Massive Damage condition? Did you know that, in our system, if you apply a heal between a failed save and the victim's next turn, they actually live? I proved it.

Re: Doomriders: A Campaign Journal
Well, they make her (even more) badass anyways. Which compensates for a lot. And how I imagine her, she just might be able to pull the "sexy scars" off. Or rather, she probably can; I'm pretty sure it's very difficult for anything she does or has not to be sexy. It just sounds like an inherent quality.

Re: Doomriders: A Campaign Journal
Slowly. Life has popped up again. Morchana has made preliminary edits, and has sent it back to me to let Cade take a look at it while she is away. So the schedule has altered slightly from it's norm, but that's ok. Shouldn't be too long before we're ready to post the next one and I'm catching up on the actual writing now.
