Hmm. So on my new laptop, I have to press the quotation mark keys twice to get them to show up, then they show up double. Otherwise I just get symbols, like Ï or á. Does anyone know how to switch this around to normal?

I'm using Vista, by the way.

What type of laptop is it? If it is an HP, I might be able to help. Did you try shift key, quotation marks key, because otherwise you get apostrophes.

So I saw Zombieland tonight with some friends. It was quite an amazing movie, but I felt quite off-put because I was the only one sitting by myself, since there was no more room in the other row...

I question my relationship with my friends sometimes. =/ This was one of those times.

so... at work today we were conveniently shorthanded. at first, no one thought much of it since nights usually weren't very busy.

talk about a boot to the head followed by a chokeslam and a face-stampage.

I swear... every idiot in TOWN came here this evening and ordered things that totaled to be AT LEAST $15 [for the record, the average combo meal is around $4.50-$6]

and so all in all, the store made several thousand, but every order took at least 15-20 minutes to get out.

one of mine was 28:37. always fun.

and to top it off, we get a few indignant ingrates who don't REALIZE we're both busy and shorthanded, and they complain "why is it taking so long?"

oh how I want to slap them.

but luckily most of them were cool about it. I only had 2 drive-offs out of the 157 orders I delivered that day.

if you look down in the right hand corner, there should be a small image of a keyborad, make sure to set this to your setting of choise

as for the double press, try cleaning the key it is most probably sticky

    That too.

...I miss the nineties. Back when things were easy, people weren't as crazy, and...

    Stop!

    Hammer time!

Go with the funk, it is said,
if you can't groove to this,
    then you probably are dead!
So wave your hands in the air,
bust a few moves, run your fingers through your hair!

This is it, for a winner!
Dance to this and you're gonna get thinner~
    Move, slide your hump!
Just for a minute let's all do the bump!

    Can't touch this!

    Can't touch this!

    You better get hype, boy,
    because you can't!

    Can't touch this!

Ring the bell, school's back in!

    Break it down!

    *Dances*

    Stop!

    Hammer time!

    *Dances away*

    *yawn*

I miss the 90s because that's when video games were actually challenging, and yet super fun.

and the games from the 80s were insanely popular instead of Gaystation3 and all the FPSuck games for Xbox...

the Nintendo64, Gameboy... and back in the old days of SEGA... the Mario/Sonic rivalry...

those were the glory days of gaming.

Meh, Space Invaders and Pac-Man still beat most games that came out back then...

In fact, I can't think of any that are better than them that came out back then.

I do hate it when they do that. I work in the deli section of a supermarket, so at nights I not only have to serve customers, but I also have to keep the cabinet full AND clean up. We usually have two people on and can manage fine.

Well, for quite a few weeks we'd been pretty quiet on mondays, tuesdays, and fridays. My normal work days. Boss is trying to cut wages, so she thinks 'Great. Lioness is a capable worker. I'll stick her on by herself!'
    Busiest. Tuesday. Ever.
We have a schedule. Chicken oven done by 7, start wrapping up stuff at 7.30 (we close at 9...but we get things done earlier so that we can leave early), floors at 6.30, dishes done from 8-8.30. Stand around for half an hour until we can do the final cabinet cover, then leave.

    The night went something like:

5-7: frantically serve rush of customers while simultaneously trying to clean up everything and not get stressed over the customers getting angry at waiting.
7-8: Panic about oven and floors and chicken warmer not being done yet because of all the angry customers. Attempt to do them, only to be foiled by more customers.
8.30: Oh dear. The cabinet is almost empty. I don't care. I need to clean. I have an hour left and still way too much to do.
9.30: I'm meant to finish now, but if I just leave, I'll probably fail most of the health and safety standards. Dishes not completely done...some food not covered, etc.
    9.50: Finish! Finally!

The friday went a bit better, because it wasn't busy, but they never put me on by myself again. It was great.
