Well they have rooms upstairs, and he had a lot of buisness to take care of in town so we stayed there.

Astrid shrugs. Meh it was not that much fun.

Really? Not fun at all? she asks. Well, then, what did you do?

Oh not much, just regular stuff. Getting his meals making up his room, a massage every now and then. Just sort of regular servant things. She frowns.

Oh...so you're a servant? she asks, a little bit frowning also...?

Astrid thinks for a bit. Well I was, but not anymore I guess.

The angel is frowning now... Servant...the only times he's heard that word are in very bad stories...

Oh, that's good. Were you freed? she asks,

Then she notices Celiaire's frown. What's wrong?

Just thinking.. I never thought I hear anyone who was a servant here. I've never heard any good stories about being one.

[McBish]

Astrid frown deepens a bit more. Not really. We were attacked on our way home... I tried to protect him, that was part of my job. But I couldn't stop them... She sets down her silverware done eating, her hand going to her stomach remembering the wound she got that day. She pales a bit thinking about holding in her guts.

Ouch...that's gotta be a painful memory,

and: to Celiaire: What do you think a servent is, then?

We were told they were just like slaves... They aren't are they?

[McBish]

Astrid nods to Helen. No they aren't all like slaves. But she decides not to fill Celiaire in on the details of all her work.

Helen decides that this isn't a good time to mention that she was, essencially, a servant to greater demons and devils... Yes, not all of them are like that.

[celtois]

Oh... that's good to hear. He manages a smile...

(Oh, shoot...just remembered that he can read minds.) Helen suddenly begins thinking about flowers.

Yes, not bad at all.

[McBish]

Astrid nods. Yeah. She still seems upset by her memories of the attack. She gets up and washes her plate and puts it away.

[celtois]

He doesn't use it but yeah he does have it.

Yeah... he stands up...and a portal appears behind him.. It looks really pretty on the other side, golden grass and white skies. The portal sounds like it's softly singing..I.. I think I'm going to go home for a bit.

[Je dit Viola]

Oh, okay. she says, You're coming back, though, Celiaire?

Have fun...

[celtois]

Yeah... I'm coming back. He looks back and telepathically says to her.I feel silly for asking but would you like to come? He steps backwards ...one more step till he reaches the portal.

[Je dit Viola]

Helen jumps up and runs to him. Of course I'm coming. she says.

[McBish]

Astrid stands where she is having put away the plate lost in thought.

[celtois]

Are you sure? He steps through the portal and it starts to close behind him.

[Je dit Viola]

Yes! She runs into the portal with the angel.

((Sorry, McBish...))

[McBish]

((No problem. I should be going to sleep soon any ways.))

Astrid turns and starts to head to a room to spend the night. Tears in her eyes but not crying yet.

[celtois]

The portal closes.. leaving no trace but the faint sound of music.
