Re: How did you choose your screen name?
This is similar to me, actually. Though I think in my case it was part of my natural desire to be different to other people. Also, silver's prettier.
My username? Fairly simple. I'd been lurking here a couple of months failing to think of a username I thought fitted me, then I read Dune."'But there's still such a lot to be done...'
YES. THERE ALWAYS IS."

Re: How did you choose your screen name?
Was making characters at random and picked one. Would have gone with Halfling Barbarian but I was in a Dragon-y mood so I went with Kobold-Bard.
I thought it was pretty good until I found out about Deekin
And to those saying they dislike their names there is a thread for name change requests.Piratebold-Bard by Elder Tsofu | Backer #121 of the Giantitp Kickstarter | My homebrew

Re: How did you choose your screen name?
I've been using this name (or variations on it) for about 12 years now. It, like me, is a mistake in Latin.

Re: How did you choose your screen name?
Heheh. He was my first dragon, too. I made him into armor.
I took my screen name from an ad for a mediocre George Clooney movie (later found out it was a book too). I've not read the story and will not watch the movie, I just picked the name 'cause it sounded cool.
My other handle, Moustache Man, comes from one of my most obvious features and the nickname the Iraqis had for me (Abu Shuareb, something like that, translates to Moustache Man). It's also my callsign whenever I'm on a radio, because I like flaunting regulations like that.My latest homebrew: Majokko base class and Spellcaster Dilettante feats for D&D 3.5 and Races as Classes for PTU.

Re: How did you choose your screen name?
You didn't pick it because it's the name of the arena planet in Mechwarrior? Shame...
I looked in a dictionary. Was surprised that Eleventh Hour had a definition. Decided immediately that I needed to have it somewhere. GitP was somewhere I was lurking without a username while I read the comics over the past... threeish years. So, I signed up.Spoiler

I was under heavy influence of a certain BG2 mod.
Now that it cooled down, I think I should got something more pronounceable on steam. :F

Re: How did you choose your screen name?
Back in 2000 or so, I was Sisihkat(Takhisis in reverse, pronounced Sissy-cat) back in a now-defunct local version of an online game. When I had to remake the character, she became Deadlykat. Then the band Atomic Kitten came out, and I thought "Oooh, that would be a cool superhero(I hereby stake/predate my claim on any superheroes/superhero-related activities utilising the name AtomicKitKat), so I first used AtomicKitty, but it soon evolved into AtomicKitKat, and the name has stuck ever since. AtomicPixidis is just because I always liked the name of the star Pixidis(Pixydis/Pixiedust). The Ixi is in there because there was a species of Neopet named the Ixi, and I thought it was a nice confluence. I have a couple of older online handles, but AKK is the primary one I've been known by almost everywhere.

Re: How did you choose your screen name?
Runescape name. Originally used Aslandle, but when that character got screwed up I made a new one called Castaras.

Re: How did you choose your screen name?
I like the Legend of Zelda Games. And there was this movie called "Encino Man" Where Sean Astin digs up a cave man in his backyard and names him Linkavitch Strominofsky, or something close, and I liked it.

I wanted one that screamed me. So I got to happy, but I thought it a bit to plain, so I added a Captain for good measure.

Re: How did you choose your screen name?
It was the name of a character for an online game, a spellcaster of sorts. I liked how it sounded so it stuck.

Re: How did you choose your screen name?
This has been one of my screen names forever, along with Wvero and Qkero.
Jokasti I got from Jocasta, the Queen in Oedipus Rex.
Dunno why, but sounded cool male-ificated to me.
Wvero I got from Wyvern.
I got qkero from wvero.

Re: How did you choose your screen name?
I've been using this screen name since the Wizards boards, it's a Hitchhiker's guide reference.
Usually the full screen name is "Prak, the Mad" but, eh, I don't remember why I didn't use the full one here, maybe laziness..

Re: How did you choose your screen name?
When I was younger I had the misconception that 'Anonymous' was an actual person who had written a large portion of the hand-me-down poems and stories that found their way into my primary school textbooks, and then when I later found out that it wasn't, I became far more enamoured with the idea that there was.
My first screen name was FoehammerEcho419, after the pilot, admittedly female, in Halo. It was shortly after I witnessed her heroic death in the game and it kinda stuck with me. Then my friends started calling me "Foreman", so I decided it was time for a change. A character in a book I was reading, about a fictional online game, was called a variation of Anonymous, and spurred on by my earlier theories, I copied the idea, but not the substance, and so Anonomuss was born.
It did help that it had the flow that sounds like it's both a first name and a surname, so on some websites, my details are filled in as Anon O' Muss.Last edited by Anonomuss; 2009-10-15 at 03:15 PM.

Re: How did you choose your screen name?
A couple years ago I was trying to pick out a character name to use in some writing. Staring at the keyboard I randomly picked the letter E to be the first letter. As I was searching through a name website I found Emlyn, which is welsh, and fell in love with the name. It had a nice ring to it. Of course it is now shortened to Em in game.
