Portals do a good job of waste disposal. After taking care of the tumor vomit, Decker hovers worriedly, hoping all the srs business will be over soon so she can go back to bashing apes and ducks and stuff.

Magtok grimaces and shudders, before turning his head over towards Decker.

We're just going to keep the details of this operation on a need-to-know basis, right?

Butler grins happily before heading back to the infirmary to get his head all cut up and resume continuity.

Helen is still in the garden, reading a note, by herself, on a bench partially obscured by rose bushes.

Alex starts, then turns and grins at Alexis.
Thankfully it was a thornless rose.
"Didn't see you there, love." He chuckles, and leans in to kiss her.

In the Infirmary, meanwhile, Quinn is awake!
But pretending not to be and listening to Magtok.

Vidalia is in the Rose Garden with a magnifying glass trying to direct a beam of sunlight toward the deadtimed Fighter Smurf.

Magtok grins, even in spite of all that's just happened. Or maybe it's just a weird nervous reaction.

"Hm? Oh, not much." Alex smiles. "I thought I'd carve a new whip handle to replace the one you broke doing your Supergirl act," he teases.

She blushes deeply. Yeah, sorry about that. Kinda scared you too, I know. Getting hit in the face with a whip would be scary to anyone.

Indeed.
Alex just shakes his head though with a smile. "Don't worry about it, love. Just still don't know your own strength all the time."
She might be able to sense some slight unease in him, though, although not about her, per se...

She sits down next to him, facing the opposite direction. Do you think I made a mistake?

"I...honestly don't know," Alex admits, tucking away his pocketknife and half-down whip handle. "I'm glad you're strong and able to look out for yourself," he quickly adds - with a wry grin - "but I'm just worried what kind of favour the people who did it will ask for. That kind of thing isn't something people give out for free..."

I-I don't know. They said they would contact me about the favor. But as far as I know it's just the one. And I'll come back to you when it's done. She promises.

Alex turns and tries to pull Alexis into a very tight hug. "I know, love. And I'll always be here for you no matter what."

She leans into the hug, returning it. I was just tired of being so helpless. I want to be able to be with you as long as I can.

"The feeling's mutual." Alex whispers, closing his eyes and leaning in for a soft kiss. "I want you forever, love."

Astrid wakes and starts her morning routine cleaning around the public area.

Quinn finally escapes the Infirmary, and heads for the Kitchen, and breakfast, smiling at Astrid as she goes.

Astrid sees her and smiles. Hello there Quinn, are you hungry?

[The Bushranger]

"Hi, Astrid. I am, actually." Quinn smiles and carefully settles onto a chair. "I've been kinda neglecting myself lately, I guess, I need to stop doing that."

[McBish]

Yes you do, let me make you something. And if you want I can make sure that you get your meals, even if you are working in the infirmary. She says heading into the kitchen to start to cook something.
