[NEXUS] Clearing in the Countryside II

[McBish]

What is this. You guys sitting in judgment of me or something?

[The Bushranger]

As one, the owls turn their heads torwards Angie.

And all bob their heads in a circle, as if agreeing, in sync.

[McBish]

All right then. Just let me know when I get the chance to speak in my defense. She says reclining in her chair.

[The Bushranger]

Silly human, thinking she has any say in the matter.

And thus, the hootennanny re-commences!

Loudly.

[McBish]

Angie closes her eyes and listens to the music of the owls hooting. She waits for something to change.

[The Bushranger]

Finally the hooting dies away; when Angie looks, she'll see that only a single owl remains, watching her.

[McBish]

Angie opens her eyes again and glares a bit at the lone owl. So you stuck with dealing with my punishment?

[The Bushranger]

"Whoooooo. Hoo hoo hoo, hoo-hoo!" the owl says, actually sounding quite jolly.

Either that or demanding protection mice on behalf of the Owl Mafia.

Before fluffing its feathers, and flying off!

[McBish]

Well that was odd. Angie gets up and heads inside to go to bed.

[The Bushranger]

Meanwhile, from the forest, the hooting starts again...

Caterwauling, almost, the way owls do sometimes.

[McBish]

As the days go by Angie manages to relax take part in her illegal drugs and basically wast the days away. But now she is done with all that packing up her stuff she goes and takes the teleporter back to HALO.

[The Bushranger]

One of the owls perches on the railing as she departs, looking at Angie and hooting.

[McBish]

Angie ignores the owl as she teleports back to HALO.

[The Bushranger]

"Whoooooooo. Somebody's ignoring things. Next thing you know, she'll be ignoring Ill Omens," Wol mutters...before flying off.

[UncleWolf]

By the time a tan furred Wolfen, and the elven girl he's carrying arrives, it's nearly sunset. The place looked empty, and when he reaches the door, Waterstrider sniffs the air. Finding lack of inhabitants, he will set Renetta down to her feet gently before pushing open the door for her, giving her an exhausted smile.

[Gullara]

Renetta gives Waterstrider a tiny smile and steps inside. She stands with her arms wrapped tightly around herself, as if she's trying to look as small as possible.

[UncleWolf]

Waterstrider looks around the place quickly before returning to her with a smile and a small clean robe for her. "It's just us now, and there's a shower just down the hall." He tells her, offering her the robe and first chance at cleaning up.

[Gullara]

Renetta takes a robe and holds it against herself. "Thank you, Waterstrider." She smiles again and heads off to the shower.

The elf doesn't come back for a while. In fact, she's not back in much longer than it should take to take a shower.

[UncleWolf]

For the first few minutes, Waterstrider simply goes to the kitchen and rummages around, pulling out some food from the fridge and setting it on the table. After a little longer than it should be, he lets out a bit of a whimper, worried.

His ears fall back a bit and he heads over to the bathroom, sniffing the air for the smell of anything, such as blood, before knocking. "Renetta?"

[Gullara]

He won't smell any blood or the like a he approaches. She likely isn't hurt. There's a scuffling when he knocks. "One second." She chokes out. After a moment the door opens to reveal Renetta wearing the robe and with a towel wrapped around her head. Her eyes are puffy and red. "Oh, you can use the shower now." She looks down at her feet.

[UncleWolf]

Waterstrider's ears droop, and he obviously looks sad. He reaches out and squeezes her shoulder. "There's food on the table, but if you want some more time, that's okay." He tells her.

[Gullara]

"No, I'm done." Renetta looks up into his eyes briefly and starts heading toward the kitchen.

[UncleWolf]

Waterstrider gives her shoulder a gentle squeeze. "I'll be right out, promise." He tells her before heading in. He almost shuts the door completely, but decides not to, in case she needs him, so leaves it open a crack for her.

[Gullara]

Renetta finds the kitchen in short order and starts picking at the food, whatever it might be. She doesn't have much of an appetite at the moment however.

[UncleWolf]

He doesn't take too long considering he had so much fur, and comes out, still damp, but clean and bandaged. He slumps into a chair and offers her a smile. "We're free."

[Gullara]

She smiles back weakly, still nibbling at her food. "Yeah. We're free." It seems to hit her then, and she brightens a bit, but simply being free isn't going to undo the months of abuse she's suffered.

"Are you okay?" Renetta asks, eyeing his bandages.

[UncleWolf]

Waterstrider tries to reach out and take her hand to give it a squeeze. He doesn't expect an instant recovery, but it's a good start. His smile falls and he winces a bit when she mentions the bandages. "My brother and I...we...we had to fight back, couldn't help it. And we tried to protect Pansy and her family."

[Gullara]

The elf squeezes his hand back, and doesn't release it as of yet. She nods gravely, having heard about how they'd fought back. "You're going to be okay though, right? Are you sure bandages are all you need?"

[UncleWolf]

"Nothing is broken." He tells her, lying somewhat. His claws had been clipped to the nub, and that was painful enough, especially when they start regrowing. "I just need some nice company and some rest." He tells her with a bit of a weak smile. "Are you hurt?"

[Gullara]

"No." She shakes her head. She'd stopped resisting quite a while ago. "Just a few bruises." She looks down at the table.
