Also, there's another reason why she won't run and escape. It's this:

I wouldn't be annoyed enough to attack and restrain them. I would avoid putting my feet where people walk. Astrid wishes she had two free hands and a ax.

A rumbling from the tree next to him stops him. Timmy, let go of the humans, you're far too hasty and overreacting.

But muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmm...

Astrid frowns and waits to be let down.

Helen rolls her eyes, and wriggles against the entangling roots.

She looks over at Astrid, her eyes seeming to say At least it's just something stupid. Actually, they do say that, 'cause she can do telepathy.

Timmy, put them down right now.

The roots start to release the two. And apologise.

I'm sorry.

Thank you, says Helen, glad to be almost-free of the tight roots. She looks for where her longsword went. Where did it go?

Astrid nods to Helen and then turns to the trees. Apology excepted, next time bury your roots a little bit deeper.

One of the roots has it. Here's your sword from where Timmy chucked it.

I'm really quite sorry about that. He always overreacts.

And better us than the Hobsons a bit deeper in. They're a clan of giant spiders, and their daughter wraps up anything that runs into her webs. She doesn't eat the intelligent ones, but those webs are apparently really annoying to get off someone.

Thank you, says Helen, sheathing the sword across her back. That does sound like it could be bad.

Then she turns to Astrid, So, ready to clean up the cabin? she asks as she brushes the dirt and sticks and snow and leaves and whatever else off of her.

Astrid nods, Yeah let's go. Nice to meet you. She says waving to the trees.

Helen...gives the trees a nod. Yeah, that's what she does, before walking over to Cabin Number Five with her friend.

Within Cabin 5, Helen and Astrid see a woman wearing a faded red dress, her face covered by her hands, weeping.

[McBish]

Aw crud, there goes hope for a cleaning montage as I have to deadtime for now. Oh well Helen can talk to her.

Aww, okay. Astrid can clean while Helen talks. She's not that good at cleaning, anyway.

Once seeing and hearing the woman, Helen quickly shape-shifts from normal demon form back to human, as she walks up to the woman. Go help her. Is something wrong? Do you need help, or something? she asks.

The lady in the faded red dress, just weeps, face still hidden behind her hands.

"My friends and I are going to be driven out of our homes."

What? Why? Who's driving you out of your homes? asks Helen, walking closer to sit next to the crying woman with the faded red dress.

[ThePhantom]

"You and your friends are!"

The lady in the faded red dress looks up and moves her hands to her side, revealing that she has a skull for a face. She goes transparent, and starts floating a little.

She's a little taken aback...but it figures, that it was a ghost. I'm...sorry. But we're not forcing anyone to leave, I don't think. She watches skull-lady.

[ThePhantom]

"Liar!"

The beds in the cabin start floating.

"I'd heard your friends plans to destroy us. Well, I won't let you lot do that!"

What? I've never heard about that, says Helen, watching the beds float, getting ready to leap out of the way if needed.

Who's saying it? I could tell them to not do it.

[ThePhantom]

"It doesn't matter!"

And now, the beds start flying at Helen, trying to either crush her, or knock her out of the cabin.

Why not? she asks, shadowstepping into the shadow of a bed as it approaches, and coming out on the other side of the room. I might be able to help.

But if you just want her out, I'll make her stop dodging and go out.

"Liar! Fiend!"

More beds being thrown.

(Probably a good idea, the lady in the faded red dress isn't very open to reason right now.)

Koyuki walks outside, without her mask on.

She was ready for anything.

Hey, just chill! says the disguised demon, stepping through the shadow of the looming bed as it tries to smash her.

I'll see what I can do, she says, coming out near the doorway to outside the cabin, quickly walking out before any more beds could fly at her.

Koyuki may feel something pressed against her back.

The ghost of the bloody gentleman will float into cabin five, look at the lady in the faded red dress, and say "You know, you're only giving them more reason to want to be rid of us."

Not that he really has much room to talk.
