Re: The Eye (D&D 3.5 campaign)
the city of Eioioni stands at the crossroads of two major trade routes, the Adris-Nomiaim route along the great road, and the stonehold-noadi route along the iron tunnel. dispite this, times are hard in Eioioni, as it is located just a bit to close to the riven peaks for comfort.

Alesteir Arizter Dread Necromancer//Sorcerer
Oh Whispered One, you gave me the knowledge of the secrets of life and death, grant me the wisdom to walk the earth as one of your brethen
Alesteir Arizter, Necromancer and follower of Vecna.
Spoiler
Born to the Arizter family, Alesteir nativity seemed to be bleesed as he showed the signs of the Aasimar, the Arizter family was lucky to count a celestial on its family three and Alesteir had inherited some of the celestial blood of his forerunner.
The family thought he would grow up to become a force of good in this dangerous world... how wrong they were.
As he grew up he showed to be adept at sorcery, the Arizter's thought that they should nurture his powers, but when he started to show even more adeptness at wielding the negative energies. Soon this adeptness became mastery and Alesteir became a necromancer.
As he tried to understand this power Alesteir started traveling looking for knowledge; as if destined he accidentally found dedicated to the, Whispered One, Vecna.
Looking over the vast amount of knowledge kept at the shrine Alesteir consacrated his efforts to uncover forgotten knowledge.
Soon after he decided to join the ranks of his new master as an Undead and went through the procces of crucimigation.

Re: The Eye (D&D 3.5 campaign)
Whoops, knew I forgot something. They're illusion and transmutation. I've updated the sheet to say as much.
Also, rolling hitpoints:
(1d6+2)[3]
(1d6+2)[8]
(1d6+3)[9]
(1d6+3)[8]
The modifier on the rolls changes because at level 3 my Con score goes up, by the way.

Re: The Eye (D&D 3.5 campaign)
Isosceles@ are you sure you want to ban those schools? there are quite a few powerful spells on both of those schools, offensive-wise (Polymorph line, shadow evocation, etc) defense-wise (Mirror Image, polymorph again) Buff wise (almost all good wizard buffs are on transmutation.)
Also when your CON score changes, you increase HP for al HD
@Nolipse: the template of Necropolitan changes all my HD to d12 so I'll roll them
(4d12+12)[33]
+12 for first level HP

Re: The Eye (D&D 3.5 campaign)
Yeah, I know, but I've dropped them for roleplaying reasons and because I intend this character to be more of a blaster. However, because I just realized that disintegrate and some other cool things are transmutation, I'll revise my choices to illusion and necromancy. Same roleplay value and I don't even step on your toes, DuskEclipse.
Edit: I didn't know that about the Con score. Thanks, I'll update my health to rectify that.Last edited by Isosceles; 2010-01-17 at 07:34 PM.

Re: The Eye (D&D 3.5 campaign)
Posting here with my character, Annabelle the Favored Soul//Crusader. I asked in the other thread if Crusader was okay, if it's not I can easily switch it to a UA variant paladin.
Annabelle

At first level one traditionally takes automatic full hp, so no one rolled for that level.

Re: The Eye (D&D 3.5 campaign)
Alright, my character is finished (ish).
Zouigif was born among a tribe of semi-barbarian warriors, distant relatives of Reshar and devoted followers of the Sublime Way. His tribe was destroyed by extremist paladins who felt that civilization and death were the only options when he was 14, and the dying words of his father (Zouigif the zeroth) were "Track them down. Find their cities. Learn their tricks. And give them hell." Since then he has striven to do just that, learning to further hone his martial abilities in conjunction with power devoted to defeating magic: he does not admit to any innate magic himself, claiming that his Spellthief spells are simply his own body going further.
Incidentally, I am heading for this prestige class. My concept will survive without it, but I would really love to use it. Pretty please? If I creep into your house in the dead of night and strangle you while you sleep, you probably messed up your grammar.
I'm always extremely careful to hedge myself against absolute statements.

Re: The Eye (D&D 3.5 campaign)
how do you use the forum die roller?
okay folks, we now have 6 characters. we can now start, although if more characters turn up they will be inserted into the start mission without problems. according to the die Annabelle hears of the "Staff of the Void" in the temple gardens, one of dozens that heard the high priest speak of this power that could unite the world. over to you rocketman. gather the party.Last edited by nolispe; 2010-01-18 at 03:56 AM.

Re: The Eye (D&D 3.5 campaign)
Necropolitan doesn't have a LA per se, it cost about 1000 XP to get it, if you rule that I should start a ECL 4 it's ok
Also lesser Aasimar is the same as a normal aasimar but instead of being an outsider (native) is a humanoid (planetouched) it is found in Players Guide to Faerûn

Re: The Eye (D&D 3.5 campaign)
SpoilerReplace the parentheses () with brackets [] in the below.
(roll)1d20+12(/roll) results in (1d20+12)[25]
(rollv)4d6(/rollv) results in (4d6)[5][5][4][6](20)
(roll)4d6b3(/roll) results in (4d6b3)[11]
The View function does not work in conjunction with the Best # function, as seen below.
(rollv)4d6b3(/rollv) results in (4d6b3)[2][1][4][4](11)

Re: The Eye (D&D 3.5 campaign)
I don't mean to run your show, Nolispe, but maybe we could make this the OOC thread (because a lot of OOC stuff has gone on here), and create a new In Character thread. That way, everything is kept organized. Maybe in that IC thread you could also post a bit more information about the scenario we're starting with, because, frankly, I'm slightly confused as to what exactly the Staff of the Void is, how we're supposed to assemble, and where we're supposed to go.

Re: The Eye (D&D 3.5 campaign)
I actually have no idea how to move it. You could just start a new thread and call it "The Eye: In Character" or something like that. Also, if you don't mind a bit of advice, when you start the new thread, you may want to lay out posting procedure, i.e. something like this:
Spoiler
Sir Example the Correct
**Begin each post with your character’s name in bold**
:: Sir Example scans the ongoing battle with his steely gray eyes. Spotting the closest orc, he raises his sword to the sky and cries out to his allies as he attacks::
**Descriptions or movements should be bracketed with “::” on either end**
“Come now my brothers, drive these fell beasts back to the filthy caves that spawned them!”
**Dialogue in quotes. If you are whispering or speaking only to one person, please say so. If you “want” you may each pick a dialogue color, though I don’t require it. Don’t pick anything obnoxious/hard to read**
Long Sword +1: [roll] 1d20+7 [/roll]
Damage: [roll] 1d6+3 [/roll]
**Please roll damage along with the attack. If it hits, I will use the damage score. If it crits, I will look up your sheet and see if it is successful. You must handle all conditional modifiers that affect your character. If Sir Example is under the affect of an Aid spell, it is up to you to remember to add the bonuses. I will factor all external combat modifiers (firing into a crowd, flanking, etc) and will inform you of Attacks of Opportunity and the like. If you have a feat that aids you in fighting (like Precise Shot or something like that, please say so in the beginning till I get used to it all**
Lightning Bolt: [roll] 1d20+5 [/roll] (ranged touch)
Damage: [roll] 5d6 [/roll] (electricity)
**For spells, please include the attack roll required and the damage magical damage type. If you need to roll a DC check for something like commanding an animal companion or making a binder check, include the DC with your roll. Also include a brief description of any unique abilities or not-completely-obvious spell effects. I know what a fireball does off hand, but not all the psychic warrior abilities.**
**Skill checks work the same way**
::Sir Example the Correct searches the body for loot::
Search: [roll] 1d20+8 [/roll]
Aid Spell: Two rounds
**Please keep count of spell effects and stuff like that during combat. If it is a party buff, only the buffer need keep track. This isn't so much to keep people honest as it is to help keep track over long periods of time. Counters should also be kept for summoned creatures, negative effects, etc.**
OOG: Sir Example is t3h 1337z0rz
**Finally, since it is a big group and I’m a space cadet sometimes, please include what result you want from anything out of the ordinary that may lie in your description but doesn’t have a roll with it so I don’t forget it**
<result of tasting potion>
**Now I know this is a lot at once, but with this system it should make it much easier for me to post and for you to read. Let’s give it a try, shall we?
Doing something like that should help quite a bit, especially because eight people will be an absolutely huge group.Last edited by Isosceles; 2010-01-18 at 04:33 PM.
