"I'm sorry..."
Quinn knows that something so simple really doesn't cover things, and is really kind of...overly simple.
But it's all that she can think of to say.
[size=1]"How did it happen? Do you know? Or was it like you woke up and...?

...oh, and you really should put something on." Carefully pulling back, Quinn grabs a hospital gown and tosses it at Memzee.

"Right now? Just...think about the old days," Shrike says quietly. "When things were simple and less confusing."

((35 minutes left here before bed. ))

Zamira sits, remembering everything.

Everything, I say.

Shrike remembers everything, too...

Not that she'll act on that remembering right now though. First, things are still too raw, and secondly, they're only curtained off from the main room. Not enough privacy at all.

"We had some good times, didn't we?" she says quietly, starting to calm down.

Yeah, we did.

Shrike moves to lay back on the bed, stretching out. "Maybe we'll be able to have them again, too..." she says, smiling a little more.

Zamira smiles a bit. I hope so.

And deadtime, I'd say.

Shrike nods, and goes to hug Zamira as she closes her eyes and drifts off to sleep/deadtime!

The hug makes her feel better.

A little, at least.

The comment about putting on clothing, though, makes her blush tremendously. "...I've been wandering around since I was turned naked..." now she just feels silly. "Eerr... I can handle it, I think..."

With that the carapace goo begins slithering out of the pores along her spine, flowing around her and weaving together into a loose black tunic. That should do nicely!

"It's... still part of me a guess..." she comments, prodding at the infernal fabric. "But it doesn't feel weird at all..."

On a passing whim she removes her mithril ring and sets it on the table beside her bed. The thing is really making her finger itch. And probably slowing down her healing, too.

"Zee was given an amulet of corruption as a tip. Didn't know what it was and put it on. She died. I was born. I have her memories. Something similar to her personality. But... I'm not her. She's still alive and uncorrupted, though. Probably because of how weird time is around the Nexus."

Quinn almost says something about 'that's good', but manages to avoid that, seeing as that would be a major faux pas...
"Oh...." She bites her lip, sitting next to Memzee again. "Must have been pretty powerful magic...do you want me to try and find a way to undo it?"

Jamie watches them from across the room.

[Infirmary]

"Already tried. I met a demon hunter who has a cure. But it didn't seem to work on me. I... think my life-shaping ability might have been fighting against it to keep me like I am now."

Oh swell...

"Eerr... Here, one moment," and with that her form shifts and wavers into something quite a bit more human. And looking quite a bit like Zee, as well. She offers a rather lame smile. "Ever since I started being... this... I've been fighting demonic urges and instincts. A lot of the stuff caught me by surprise. Especially when I was still trying to be Zee. Once I came to terms with being me I... Think I've managed to get them under control..."

Or maybe not.

"I got killed once already. Or... killed myself. So that Master wouldn't be able to control me. I woke up in Sheol..." she still sounds disturbed about that.

"You...oh, no..." Quinn looks distinctly distressed by that. "Who is this, um, 'Master'?' she asks, clearly intending to take a chunk out of him at the first opportunity!

"If there's anythign I can do to help, in any way, I will, alright?"

Jamie, meanwhile, waves from her playpen. "Hello!"

Memzee wrinkles her nose a bit at that question. Then rubs the back of her head awkwardly. She can do this, right? "Eerr... Master is Master. No. Hold on. Maelas... Mael... Master."

She looks frustrated now, slumping forward and resting her chin on her hands. "He's another demon from Sheol. He can change his form, though naturally he's this weird skeleton looking thing. Last I knew he was at Lulz bar and grill."

Thankfully the ring seems to have shattered his previous commands. And given the tug in that direction she's feeling right now...

"He's probably still there. He's been corrupting women into demonesses. Apparently for his own harem," the last word is spit rather venomously.

Memzee doesn't like Master.

Quinn scowls. "Well, we need to stop him, then. Don't worry, I'll make sure he doesn't get to do that to you," she promises.

Jamie, feeling ignored, sits down and pouts!

Both of them deadtime.

A barn owl flies into the camp ground and lands on a rooftop deciding to stay in this form for awhile. The city was a bit overwhelming and it is nice to have the simplicity of being an owl for now. So she watches thinking she might grab dinner if she sees something available.

Angie finishes her talks with the refugees and heads back to HALO.

There's a mouse scampering across the ground.

That counts as dinner, right? It's a cute little mouse. Snow white, large enough, but still smaller than a rat, running with its ineffective camoflauge. Hopefully it's not anybody's pet.

Yep that would count as dinner. The Owl watches it for a bit, and if it just keeps acting like a mouse and doesn't do anything strange it will flap it's wings and silently fly down to trap the mouse in it's talons, not killing it just yet.

Yup.

It continues to act like a mouse, sqeaking like mad when it gets caught, expecting to be eaten.

It's not like it's a wizard, or something. They're smarter than that.

Keri doesn't necessarily like to play with her food, but she holds it down now to make sure that it isn't intelligent. And if it makes no attempt to communicate or change form, she reaches down with her beak to break it's neck and start to swallow it whole.

Owl's Digestive System

No, sadly, it wasn't intelligent. I should have thought of that earlier, so I could come up with a backstory.

So...mouse gets eaten, fulfilling its role in the food chain.

Mmm... mouse.

Avatar really needs to get back to his hole in the sandy hillside. And speaking of which...

[Starry Night]

Far above GLoG a shadow soars. A patch of stars that moves of its own accord. For those with rather sharp eyes it will be clear that this shape isn't simply a wisp of cloud, but rather something alive. Something wheeling far above the campsite and gazing down at the goings on.

He had been dreaming for some time.

And now he's awake again.

The owl and her snack reminds the Chimera of his own hunger... And so he may as well get to it. Silently the shadow descends into the Dreamlands, stalking through the visions of those that slumber. Hunting for nightmares.

Nightmares that will be devoured.

And pleasant dreamscapes painted in their place.

Memzee responds with little more than a nod and a smile, rolling over in her bed and drifting off to sleep.

Yay mice. They are tasty she enjoys her snack and then with a few flaps of her wings goes back up to her rooftop, now just watching the grounds for the heck of it.

Quinn's still here, checking over her paitents, as Jamie plays!

Zamira looks at Shrike. She wanted to do more for Shrike... but Shrike would probably misunderstand.

Shrike, for her part, rolls over and starts to wake up.

Zamira is hugging her! If there's anything I can do... just ask.

"Alright..." Shrike whispers, turning so she can look at Zamira. "That means a lot."
Clearly, it pains her to admit that she can't do everything herself.

Zamira simply hugs Shrike, not saying anything more, just comforting her Solar Mate now.

And Shrike seems to pull her a little closer, too, her Lunar Mate's comfort seeming to be quite appreciated...

However, for now, Zamira doesn't take it any further. If Shrike does, though, she'd go along with it.

But at the moment, a deadtime ooze drops on her!

Both because she's not ready, and becuase Nurse Piper would have their hides for unsanitory behaviour if they got curtain-y in the main lodge.
