Clean it up a tad more, remove what we don’t like, edit, ETC. and you have a perfectly good name. Don’t like it? Tap some more keys and try again!

Magic is a very common thing in the world. Mages and many other magic users bend it to the will of the user. Most do not know where it comes from, and there are many skeptics that it is all witchcraft. All of those rumors are mostly lies, though it is debatable with warlocks. In fact, most magic is natural.

When the world was created, there was an extraordinary amount of left over material. Many of this is of an otherworldy nature. If the inhabitants found this, they probably would have been killed by the mere magnitude of the power in these items. Instead the power was extracted and put in the world. It made a ring surrounding the planet invisible to the eye, but of extreme power. The ring started to create lines into the ground itself, almost like threads of pure energy. These are called Ley lines.

Wizards spend years learning how to take it from nature and use it in spells. Other users of the arcane use it in a way that is considered reckless due to the havoc an accident can cause. Warlocks don’t directly use it. They take it from a higher power that they sold their soul for. In a way, it is safer then direct use of wizard magic.

As suspected, the energy started to pervert parts of the world after a long course of time. It is the reason for some creatures like the foulspawn. It also allowed some mortals to become powerful beyond their wildest dreams, like mages. It also tainted nature itself. Some places starting creating portals to other planes and abominations of nature came through. Though the greatest effect on nature is probably mana

Mana is energy from the Ley lines put into an item or container. When used upon a person, it helps them become powerful at the arcane arts, but at a cost. When it is not in its natural form of the Ley line, it can become an addicting substance. Many mages have met their end trying to become the best wizard in existence this way.

After subsequent use of mana, people begin to change. Some is the way most addicts act, while some is in a very different manner. Some begin to have glowing blue veins on their arms, neck, leg, and chest. After awhile, parts of the body begin to grow sporadically. Then they normally become mutated abominations. In EXTREMALY rare cases, some attain near god levels of power. That is one of the few reasons non mages take it.

and knowing is a fourth of the battle.
