Ford that wagon wheel! And we carry duct tape for a reason, don't we? Let's jury-rig it back together.

There IS a nice Ford-able crack in that wheel...
In the name of the great Leeroy Jenkins...
LET'S DO THIS!
(I say we try to fix it... Nothing duct tape can't fix).

Re: Into the West: Let's Play Oregon Trail II
I was confident in my carpentry abilities, so I went to work repairing the wheel.
However, once I was finished, I had somehow fashioned it into a square, so we decided to just replace it.
Morale was low. We were moving slowly. At least it seemed that we had found water somewhere, although I was not entirely sure where.... Probably best not to think about it.
Because these wagons are just flying down those dusty roads.[ There was a signature here. It's gone now. ]

Replace it, and make an example of the broken wheel. That'll raise morale.
Why no, my persona from Cubey's LP isn't growing on me. Why do you ask?

Re: Into the West: Let's Play Oregon Trail II
We slowed down for the dust, but I still worked on the gallows. Which, of course, people tended to give me strange looks for once we reached Fort Hall...
I didn't trust them soldier types, so I kept us moving. We followed along the Snake River for some time, until finally we came to a crossing.
It's go time.
Also, here's another map update. Once again, the blue rectangle is the screen we're currently traveling on, not far out of Fort Hall. I can't believe I'm saying this, but... We might actually make it.

Re: Into the West: Let's Play Oregon Trail II
You're almost there, but so far there has been a saddening lack of fording.
Could I suggest fording the next few rivers you come across?
You might even ford the one in front of you right now. That would be ace, thanks."What can change the nature of a man?"

Re: Into the West: Let's Play Oregon Trail II
We forded the river with great success! And just across the river, we came to...
The California Trail Junction! And yes, it is in fact just as boring as it sounds. Moving on...
We came to Caldron Linn. I don't know what that really meant, but it looked kinda neat. At least there was water for us.
Finally, the rough trails led us to this. Rock Creek Gorge was staring us down, and that's exactly where we had to go next. Down.[ There was a signature here. It's gone now. ]

Lock the wheels and continue on! We won't leave a trail to follow if we surf down the hill.

I'm confused. How is there no "Build a ramp and fly" option? Anyways. I say we drop anchor and take this hill like pirates!

Re: Into the West: Let's Play Oregon Trail II
I was barraged by a heap of suggestions for making our way down the hill. I was stunned with indecision, which was probably not a good thing, since by the time I came back to make one, the other wagons had already made their way down the hill. I simply ordered the rest to continue on and catch up.
Rock creek was a misleading title. It was in fact made of water, not rocks. Confusing, but nevertheless, we forded without incident.
A ways down the road, however, we came to a new problem.
I guess we found where the rocks were...[ There was a signature here. It's gone now. ]

Clear the rocks. It's a simple matter of chaining them to the wagon and carting them away. Don't tell me you would do it by hand!

I agree those rocks have clearly fallen and can't get up. The good Samaritan way is to help them (by clearing the path).

Re: Into the West: Let's Play Oregon Trail II
Apologies for the lack of updating. I misplaced my disc, which made playing the game somewhat problematic. However, we are back on the trail now. Unfortunately, I missed some screenshots of a couple things that happened immediately after the blocked path.
We made an attempt to clear the rocks, but when that didn't work, we needed a new strategy. Deciding that we had wasted enough time, I ordered them to press on immediately, right over the fallen rocks. Turns out it worked. Who would have imagined?
Shortly after our success, I was called to check in on RS14, who was running a fever and had a number of lesions across his skin. The poor bugger had contracted smallpox, and I did only what I knew I could. I ordered the wagon train onward (I think. I... can't really remember what option I chose, but I'm pretty sure I just kept us moving...)
We were thankfully nearing the final stretch of our journey, which would also prove to be the most challenging. Why is that? Simple. The minds of the other settlers were beginning to fail. They demanded to stop for every single landmark along the trail, and I was beginning to get tired of it. To name a few of the places we stopped....
All in a row. However, the straw that broke my back didn't come until our next stop...
"Sand? You're stopping us to marvel at sand now?! That's it! You people like dirt? Then enjoy all the dirt you want! Come on, full speed ahead!!"
