All I've got in my head is a nice Mace of disintegration. It seems like it should be overpowered, but I can't say if it really is.

My immediate thought is this: what if I put a 'harmless' spell into a weapon?
Also, it seems like a bit of a crap-shoot to make your armor resistant to one specific spell. Maybe make it a more generalized damage reduction?
Finally: Non-combat, Non-buff spells make for interesting conundrums. Choosing something at random from my Player's Handbook: Stone Shape.
