Getting [Steam]-Rolled 9

I'm still waiting for an invite to the GITP group on Steam (that no one seemed to notice a page or two ago) if someone can do that. Otherwise I've only got 3 GITP people on my Steam friends list.


I don't really like the shotgun, too few shots between reloads. In 2 at least, its probably the M16 clone, though the AK47 clone is pretty good too. The hunting rifles are nice sometimes, but they just don't cut it in the mobs.

I personally love the M16 for its accuracy though the AK is better for running. The damage it does plus its decent accuracy makes it the best all around gun. Only like shotys for close range tanks.

A team of 4 military rifles is absolutely godlike because it's very easy to absolutely obliterating an incoming horde before it reaches you, kill special infected in seconds, etc.

I seem to recall one occasion where on the Dark Carnival finale we were able to blast the tank away before he could run across the area to us

Wide open areas it is great. Dark Carnival Finale being one of the best. That being said they suck if a horde gets close.

EDIT: I made a Steam Group for the Highlander thing and invited everyone on my friends list who is in it to the group. If you could get the missing people an invite, that'd be great.

Mmm...:( Still full of lag. Even after a full reinstall of Steam. I'm...out of ideas. I think you should just take me off the main list for Yellow and switch me with a reserve.

I find the scoped rifles actually work quite well for hordes, as long as you're outside them. The fact that they penetrate an unlimited number of infected means you can sweep through a horde in just a few shots.
All statements based on around 2 hours of total playing time.
They're definitely not great when you yourself are mobbed, though.

Any reserve in Yellow willing to take Trobby's spot as team demoman? By the looks of the player list, it's Potatocubed, but it's down as his second reserve.

If all four players have them, it's pretty easy to prevent any horde from getting close, and it's very easy for at least one player to distance himself and obliterate them all.

Gets easier in midgame, unless you mean Bioshock 2. Electric gel... I had too much.

Not anymore I don't. As soon as Djinn fixes the Hat mod, I will, in effect, have all the hats (except for the Halo, noble amassment, and tower, which I don't want).

You only get 8 seconds either way to my knowledge...

Congratulations Shadow. Apologies for not joining the L4D2 action. In my defence (again) I am drinking/was drunk (delete where applicable) at the relevent zombie slaying moment.

10 seconds if you pop and hold on the same person. You spend 1.5x uber if you pop on yourself, pop on one person then drop or juggle between 2 people (7.5 seconds). You spend 2x uber if you pop and juggle between 3.

That is, if I read the link in drolkcal's post a while back correctly.

You certainly get around 8 for popping on just yourself though, because I've waited for 10 seconds left on CP maps, stood on the last point an popped, then run out at 2.5 seconds left.
