    Yeah, I can. And this is pretty much what I mean. Sure, mortal martial arts are pretty bad-ass (I didn't say they weren't Frozen) but that's mortal world stuff. Aside from unique powers mortal worlders don't exactly have much going for them besides fancy martial arts stuff so why make Hakuda martial arts stuff?

    Nor am I saying create whole new style either. But just like 'favorite kido' I don't think it's that much trouble to think up/name/describe a couple of favorite hakuda moves for hakuda specialists. I mean sure...punching a gillian's face in half with your bare hands is pretty awesome..but if it's 'Evil-Cleaving Barrage' and is a Hakuda technique meant and designed for breaking the incredibly hard masks of hollows...then it's all the cooler. Y'know?

    I'm personally going to go with the "HADOKEN!" style of martial arts. Go Ryu! We might be able to take things from DBZ. They do alot of strong and fast moves. Not so much the whole "KAMEHAMEHA!" thing.

    Uh....I thought Hadoken was a move, not a style. A move that's way more Kido than Hakuda.

    I'm thinking some interesting kidou effects added to certain techniques, as well as reiatsu/reishi enforced punches.

    I wont produce a full moves list, but rather, I will produce some basics for various groups of techniques within the Hakudou, as well as some variations and advancements on these. Descriptions and purpose of the different groups will also be added.

    Give me a while and I'll come back with the foundation for the Hakudo martial art if you guys would like it :D

    "Special move spamming" gets you killed outside of a simplistic fighting video game.

    Has anyone read 8-bit-theatre? Double Fisted Monkey Style sounds cool... Too bad my character's only got one fist.

    EDIT: It's also a sword style

    Anyway, for relevency, Rock Lee's style of fighting would work with a shinigami. Hit them so hard they can't think. Then do it 7 more times before they hit the ground.

    Indeed, I took a lot of what Frozen's last post said to heart about various technique categories for differently sized enemies etc.

    Let's just put it this way:

    If you ever wanted to punch a hole into a gillian, follow it up with a shakkahou inside of the hole and then tearing the still flaming hand out diagonally upwards and slightly to the side, splitting the gillian as you do, well, this will be your martial art.

    Same for things such as barehanded fighting against armed opponents, proper punchthrough of hindrances (such as weaker zanpakuto's or smaller trees), throws, and, of course, a further development of the Bone techniques (I'm thinking a full kata or form of bone techniques, with illustrations once I'm done.)

    Sounds very... Concise. I bet it'll look great. Ama will probably use her legs more than hands though. Having one arm tends to inhibit your fighting. Although she may still use her hand a bit.

    A bright idea incoming:

    Once you get far into superhuman range of strenght but still have a human body and weight, few of the biggest problems in utilizing said strenght is to root yourself in place and create enough leverage without causing too much pressure to a too small area or exceeding the tensile strenght of material you are lifting.

    The basic trick of airwalking is to gather reishi at one's feet to create a solid platform. I'd imagine many Hakuda techniques take that trick and run with it, creating such platforms to brace against blows, or using one's reiatsu to hold a large object together so it won't fall apart due to over balancing.

    Tl; dr: Hakuda uses fine manipulation of Reishi and Reiatsu to mimic common 'secondary superpowers' exhibited by extraordinarily strong characters.

    That's a really good point. With that much kinetic energy you'd probably be displaced before your opponent, especially if you arttacked from above. That's why in space you have to strike upwards, so you don't go off into nothingness, but are instead pushed downwards.

    Putting together a list of the basic layout of the martial art at the moment.

    A small taste of my 1-minute brainstorm of ONE part of it:

    "Disciplines:
    - Disciplines are not strict schools of technique like that of many a martial art, but rather gatherings of similarly based and developed techniques under one name to simplify the grouping and teaching of them. Note however, that the Disciplines all use the same basics of Taijutsu (Bodily techniques) and are not individual schools.

    Disciplines involve such things as the Nine Dragon Crests, the Ten Bones of Earth, and the Five Sealed Doors."

    Just a small teaser, I've got stuff thought up and planned for the disciplines as well, do not despair

    EDIT: And now I've got a nosebleed and it's getting late, I'm withdrawing with my notes to find a bigger pile of paper and I'll see if I can't have the basics done in the morning/early afternoon for me, whish me luck fellas, this is going to turn out great.

    I take great interest in this since Kazuma is supposed to be the kind of guy to strike people with his fist and Kidõ BEFORE his Zanpakutou enters the equation.

    The most basic form I could think of would be "air blasts" (namely the age-old explanation of punching/kicking so hard/fast that knife-like air pressure cuts through space like a blade). Sounds like it would be a particularly nasty surprise to pull on someone who expected a Kidõ attack coming, put up a barrier to defend him/herself against that - and then felt him/herself getting ripped to pieces by air.

    Given how Shunpo seems to blur the line as far as how fast someone actually moves, such a style of fighting could lead to the classic 'after-image' kind of moves with 'delayable' strikes. (I.E. utilizing varying speeds to deliver attacks from different angles and confuse the enemy.)

    As for ripping off Kenshiro, the usual explanation for that is that you planted reiatsu inside your opponent and then blew it up from the inside out.

    It's just crazy how the things you guys talk about things that connect with the things I think of. I've finally completeled my initial attemt at my third character, a character that has more then just alittle in common with some of the ideas being tossed around by Koroimaken, not quite from the same source but similar none the less. So this is my 12th division character, I CHALLENGE YOU RIGHTY! ARE YOU SCIENCE ENOUGH!!!? RAAAHHH!

    Ai is easily recognizable as a member of 12th Division. It would be difficult to place Ai's age by appearance beyond being vaguely youngish looking. Her face is unlined due to her infrequency in smiling, furring her brow, or indulging in facial expressions in general. She has wide, staring eyes, it's to be noted that she hasn't blinked with them in over a hundred years. While the previous is interesting and noticeable after close examination, most would be more immediately drawn to her light mauve complexion. Less immediately, Ai has matching circular markings on her cheek that are a much deeper shade of the colour. Her hair is an off pink that may have been a pale yellow at some point and is cut short to exactly one inch all around. Over her Shinigami uniform she almost always wears the standard lab coat of the 12th. Ai wears a skull cap on her head that appears to be made of coiled copper. Her hands are bare save for copper bits covering where her finger tips would be, there is also something resembling a large marble imbeded in her left wrist on the palm side. Should someone be drawn to Ai's feet they would see that they are slightly narrower and seem abnormally long. Ai has an extremely stiff bearing, her movements are forced and awkward. When looking at Ai, Zanpakuto not be noticed immediately. From the back or side, one my see the sword hilt behind her head, from the hilt's angle the blade itself appears to be stuck in her spine..

    Ai's life revolves around her work in the 12th division. In her hundreds of years of life she refrained from involving herself in anything unrelated her division duties or her own individual contributions in it. In matters concerning the 12th Ai speaks and acts in a brisk and steely manner, she keeps herself aloof. As the above states this means she almost always speaks and acts in a brisk and steely manner, and keeps herself aloof. In recent times Ai has become aware that she is completely socially inept. Her inability to cope with casual interactions or in making connections with her fellow shinigami has started to trouble her. Ai had begun taking steps to remedy this with careful research into social stratagems, So far it's not going well. She's also attempting to secretly smuggle self help books from the mortal world.

    Contrary to what her appearance and what the above suggests, Ai is more then a block of wood. While outwardly this is the case, deep deep inside that grainy layer is a personality. Ai is proud, she thinks highly of herself and of her achievements within the division. Criticism frustrates her as as does anything that restricts her creative process. As Ai's own research was almost always high risk and experimental, she's none to fond of the existing safety measures that greatly inhibit her. It is Ai's belief that there is nothing that can't be improved upon. While understanding the nature of things is fine, it's only the foundation to higher things in Ai's mind. Ai has gone so far as to literally apply this outlook to herself. She has very little in the way of reservations about forcing it on others, if she could only have the chance!

    Ai's history is shrouded in mystery and hearsay... among the interns at least, talking about the strange purple person is always a popular topic.

    Ai is likely the last scion of her clan, a clan she has little intention of continuing. Her clan is hardly a prominent one in the Soul Society, but since the founding of the 12th Division, the clan had always held a firm place in the division's registry. Ai was raised with all expectation of joining the 12th and obviously she had. Initially admitted as an intern, under the tutorage and direction of her fellow Soutens within the division, Ai proved to be a promising young prodigy. upon gaining full membership within the 12th, Ai became a rising star in it's ranks, she would often be trusted with critical tasks in various projects.

    The first black mark on Ai's career came on a day like any other day. A prominent scientist within the 12th and head of the meagre Souten clan had in mind a project that he assured would redefine the soul society for all time. The exact nature of the project has been struck from the records but Ai herself was granted a vital role in monitoring stability in the experiment. Some short days after the initial success The Souten elder was struck dead and she herself was severely injured. In the aftermath, the Captain cracked down on the the involved parties. Her comrades attemped to slot blame onto her (one of the scapegoaters was actually family if you could imagine..) she stated in her defence that she was completely successful in her duty as the experiment technically remained stable and that, if anywhere, the flaw would be in the theory itself. In the end, Ai managed to evade blame for the incident but at the cost of estranging her colleagues.

    Ai came to a degree of notoriety some years later when she finally earned the opportunity carry out her own experiments. Ai's specialty was Reiatsu manipulation, and it became the base of nearly all her future experiments. Ai had long regarded Reiatsu as "waisted energy," constantly leaking out of ones body, very little of it was being put into practical use in her eyes. Her most ambitious endeavour ever was the creation of devices that would redirect Reiatsu internally, using it to power countless other devices inside a subjects body. many within her division were skeptical of her theory but after several attempts she achieved success and felt most assured that it would redefine the soul society for all time! Much to her Chagrin, the Captain seemed to dwell on her first two attempts. The first subject was unfortunately drained of all spiritual power and was forced into retirement, the second had exploded, but his sacrifice had given Ai the idea to include something like a surge protector. The third was perfectly successful, however his Reiatsu had been too weak for it to be of much use regardless. Ai was ultimately banned from continuing with this work to her extreme surprise. Despite the ban, she was stubbornly set on proving the practical application of her work; Ai was forced to use herself as she had little other choice in test subjects. She succeeded of course and spent the years since tinkering with and improving her augmentations. Whatever she made discoveries that interested others in the 12th, she was insistent that original experiment was a necessary component in it, and it usually was. The above only consisted of her personal pursuits, she still adamantly carried out her division duties and played her roles in what work was assigned to her. Despite past transactions, she continued to rise within the division through her consistency in excellence and her obsession with update and progress reports. She still nurses her injured pride and often falls into bitterness but she's not about that get in the way her duty just yet.

    As stated in her backstory, Ai has spent almost 200 years tinkering with her own body, she's been very productive with her time. Ai's modifications aren't nessesarily limited to those listed beflow, these are her standard fare and it's hardly beyond her to devise new ones at a later date.

    Reiatsu channelling device:
    Just as the name implies, Ai has implanted devices that redirect her Reiatsu internally. Her Reiatsu is for practical reasons infused in her blood and is carried along all through her body (thus explaining her queer complexion). Her very special blood passes through a varied selection of inventions also by Ai, these items draw the spirit power from her blood and are thus powered. over time Ai discovered additional effects caused by the implants. Ai's nerves sense of touch have long been deadened by the flow of Reiatsu, aside from occasional twitching she's almost entirely incapable of involuntary movement. Much of her actions are carried out on a conscious level, any form of bodily expression is forced and done only out of courtesy for others. On that not she's mostly immune to pain and would only notice being cut when she feels her Reiatsu leaking out. on the subject of wounding, Ai has had quite a long time to examine the complex flow of her spiritual energy through her veins. Ai can now manipulate her super infused Reiatsu blood, similar to how other Shinigami make use of theirs. Ai may stop and harden her blood similar to an extremely powerful Hierro, only under the skin ...of course Ai has to stop her blood to actually do this. Ai may also force her blood to continue to flow where it would normally go even with a sizable gash, this is almost entirely unconscious, it would stop wounds from bleeding although it would be a bit much to expect the blood to through through where an entire arm used to be.

    Strength enhancers: A number of Shinigami enhance their strength with their spiritual power. Ai also does this, although she's among the extreme end of this collection. She mostly uses this for lifting heavy apparatuses.

    Multi-jointed:
    Ai, with patience and care, has made herself absurdly flexible. It's quite disturbing to look at when she displays it, one would also expect it to be damn hard to trap her in a hold. This is not reliant on her spiritual energy.

    Eye Enhancement:
    She hasn't truly enhanced her eyes rather encased them in special protective lens'. Over time she played with them to enhance her sight but refrained from tinkering to much as a matter of pride (She makes a point of avoiding the Captain's inventions whenever she can due to past injuries). She also doesn't need to blink anymore, very efficient.

    Finger Tools:
    The metal tips of her fingers are there to ensure she has essential equipment always on hand haha. The left hand bits slide open to reveal several generic tools, she routinely changes them. The right hand has a more permanent selection of Reiatsu powered lasers (To the enthusiastic approval of her Captain). They serve all manner of functions where lasers are appropriate and some where they aren't! For combat application, Ai must straighten her arm out to link up additional charged implants along her arm.

    Soul phone/holo projector:
    Rather complicated sounding, but essentially the phone is part of her hand and works much like this. The projector takes the form of the large marble in her wrist, it can display a similar if more advanced version of the Soul phone's hollow radar. The projector may also display other information for practical usage in the labs.

    Wheeled feet:
    Yes, as the title states, Ai has wheeled feet. One of the strangest and a personal favourite invention of Ai herself. it starts off with her oddly narrow feet, she actually has only three enlarged toes to each, something she regards as important in this. Her "big toe" has copper plate for a nail, the plate isn't so much a plate as an extending band. The band would extend in a snap to form a wide ring that goes into her heel. Once the rings are complete, she rolls around with dexterous ease upon them. With them she moves with obscene speed and can switch directions with minimal loss of momentum. She may also airwalk, or rather roll with them, when doing so they gather violet sparks. For some reason Ai can't fathom, they have yet to catch on in Seireitei.

    Ai is fairly proficient with this technique.

    Hakuda:
    Yes, Ai the scientist is no stranger to the mysteries of connecting the fist the ever vulnerable face. Her interest in it began some hundreds of years ago where she took serious injuries, she's since resolved never to be caught flat footed again. She's very well versed in the techniques and, combined with her Reiatsu enhanced resilience and strength (not to mention her flexibility), she is very formidable.

    It is assumed that she is not the most proficient of sword users as she has opted to keep the thing embedded in her spine. She can actually unsheath the thing but, unsurprisingly, her technique is not a fine example of the Soul Society's noble art.

    Kido:
    With a clear voice, an unmatched memory, and excellent control of both Reiatsu and Reiryoku, Ai is a poor practitioner of Kido. Of course for one so talented and having all the right qualities it was a physical effort to be so bad at it. Ai really dislikes Kido and has nothing but contempt for those incense huffing mystics. That isn't to say Ai didn't study enough to grasp the useful bits regarding Reiryoku manipulation and other useful tidbits that can be gleaned in that arcane dribble for her research. Ai can actually use some Kido spells, although only ones she managed to convert to proper scientific calculations over those absurd mantras. She hasn't given much time to it so she only as access to the least of Bakudo and Hado. She can't use any without the words.

    Ai's Zanpakuto is more likely the length of a Kodachi or wakizashi over a katana given that Ai doesn't have a small metal blade sticking out much like a tail. the hilt looks fairly standard with the bindings a dark violet colour to match the rest of her.

    Inner World:
    ..Is hardly important, it's not like you'll be seeing it. it's probably lightningy or something..

    Shikai: "Connect, Saki"
    In Shikai, Ai's zanpakuto transforms into a plain metal pike with a copper sheen, her appearance is amusing reminiscent of a bumper car given it's still stuck in her spine. The pike serves much like a spiritual conductor, drawing spiritual energy from that is expelled from others, and collects enough to send it back in the form of bolts of energy at her unfortunate foes.

    Ai doesn't use it for this though, instead she jerry-rigged the sword (much to it's indignity) to provide herself with additional spiritual power. Ai becomes rather giddy with the power boost, she quite literally trembles with power. special spiritual surge guards would begin to kick in at this point to keep her from overloading which would be followed with dying. The guards can be manipulated manually from an area somewhere on her body.

    Bankai:
    Ai has not achieved Bankai, she doesn't seem to think much about it..

    ...I can feel the critical backlash in my bones already, probably spearheaded by a biology major. Also I've touched up personality and such in my other characters, well I will in a moment anyway.

    Ahhhhhhh... this is sort of like what I was intending, sort of, well actually not really, no.

    Blackmarket in Los Noches is kind of redundant if you think about it but I was thinking of a market bazaar area too. Also while not really slaves, lesser hollows would be captured and brought there for sale, presumably to be eaten. I like to think of it as the nicest place in Los Noches, for non hollows at least, possibly excluding Mei's area for the first couple of hours.

    Overall, a nice and suitably bizarre character. One nitpick: technically, internal spiritual energy is Reiryoku, and it becomes Reiatsu when it leaks out. So instead of moving her Reiatsu internally, it'd be more proper to say she prevents her Reiryoku from flowing out in the first place.

    *reads Hannibal's backstory* oh geez..man, that's pretty spooky.. hmmm...

    I know what you mean though about Reiryoku and Reiatsu. I don't really think of it as Reiryoku though as the spirit energy isn't exactly sent back into it. I don't really think I'm using the word Reiatsu correctly either, as the spirit stuff itself isn't really called that, oh well. I still think of it as Reiatsu though because it really is the run off from her Reiryoku and stays completely separate.

    On another note I actually forgot a couple of things, not particularly important but I plain forgot about them when writing my bio up. They're only important in an rp sense as I intended them there mainly to creep people out.

    Number one is her special tongue. it's a sort of multi purpose sensor tool and an excuse for me to let her lick everyone and everything. I also thought of a special nose to sense spiritual pressure, but that's actually useful so I don't know.. I thought these up as part of Ai's compete aversion of her captains inventions, such as his visor, enhancing her other senses instead. I don't think he'll be going around wearing a special nose cap so it's probably safe for me.

    Number two is a special internal compartment that she keeps stuff in. I wanted an excuse to make her regurgitate things to further put people off. originally I was going to have it so her head snaps back like a pez dispenser but then I remembered her sword would be in the way, sigh..

    Classifications of molten rock:

    Magma - Molten rock beneath the ground.
    Lava - Molten rock above the ground.

    Classifications of spiritual energy:

    Reiryoku - spiritual energy inside your body.
    Reiatsu - spiritual energy outside your body.

    So her augment basically turns reiatsu back into reiryoku, but coursing through a different medium than what reiryoku usually courses through (hint, not your bloodstream).

    It's all semantic really, at the end of the day, lava and magma are both molten rock, and reiatsu and reiryoku are both spiritual energy.

    Alright, I've got the absolutely bare bones structure down, did sleep for quite a while and have been chatting with that-special-someone who's coming home from japan in a matter of days.

    But I've got the bare bones of the structure and the groups, but it is FAR from complete or indepth. However, I am contemplating putting the list up to show the progress as well as to get some input on it from all of you. On the other hand, I could develop it a bit further before throwing a more fleshed out version out there to show my vision and ideas a bit more clearly than:

    "Basics: involves blah, di blah, di blah" (and a bit more of course, but you get the point). What would people preffer?

    Hakuto



    Hakuto is formed around spheres of teachings and influences, or "levels of skill" if you so will, where the first sphere is the foundation of any and all Hakudo, the second is an advancement of it, and the third sphere stretches the possibillities of bare hand fighting. Do note however, that the third sphere is not the limit of Hakudo, nor of the Shinigami, it is possible to transcend it, but doing so requires a complete and utter understanding of the three spheres.


    The Firt Sphere



    Hanmi/Kamae (Stances):
    -The starting points, the origin of any and all techniques, also often the midway and finishers. A stance, a hanmi or kamae, is a very important thing, if it is not proper, the technique will be weak.


    Guards:
    - There are also a set amount of basic guard positions or poses within the Hakuto, the most common and most basic is having the same hand and foot forward, with the arm slightly stretched out, hand and fingers straight up and in a straight line from the face. The offhand raised to eye-height with a softly bent elbow. This guard is deviced to produce an unbreakable and indommitable line to the defenders face and body, the forward arm cannot be bypassed, whilst the forward foot provides a short and swift kick. Alternatively, the offhand and off leg will provide both threat and blocks should a bypass be attempted. The position also allows for an easy forward motion as well as a continous capacity to enter into disciplines or counters of grapples.


    Tsuki (Strikes):
    - The basic strikes of the Hakuto uses a twist from the hip and center of the body in order to generate power, this will either twist in both ways, expanding preasure from the hip and down, into the ground via the back leg, and a similar force, expanding through the body, through the shoulder and into the straight fist. This, as well as the strike where you also take a step to increase reach and bring a more direct bodyweight behind the blow are the two basic strikes of the Hakudo.

    However, they are not the only ones. Techniques and variations include open and closed fists, with the open being palm strikes where the connection from the forearm bone into the enemy is shortened, and the closed often utilising a straight or slightly curved strike with a fist directly alligned with the forearm. Do note however, the the strikes of the closed fist, although curved, do NOT curve to the sides, but rather in archs from below or above (such as the Bones of Earth).

    Shortening of strikes is also taught, in which case, the forearms are removed and strikes are carried out, with elbows, however, due to the short distance required for these, they are a fallback more than a standard. also, due to the relatively short distance from shoulder to elbow, these strikes can curve horizontally whilst still being well connected to the center mass of the person striking.


    Kicks:
    - In development, studying Soifon and Yoruichi.


    Dori (Throws):
    - In development, can apply several throws from aikido and judo into the Hakudo, however, need to adapt them in order to fit properly.


    Reijutsu:
    - The control, control, shifting and displacement of Reishi, Reiatsu and, foremost, Reiroku. This is done in order to strengthen the body for impacts, both blocks and strikes included, however, a person skilled in Reijutsu cannot also shift the reiroku of himself, but also the reishi around him, including the reishi gathered underneath the feet of an enemy, blowing it away temporarily (although not permanently). Masters of Reijutsu have been known to lock down an enemy's movement, if only for a moment, by blocking strikes or motions before they gathered momentum.


    The Second Sphere



    Melding:
    - The art of folding incantation-less Hadou and Bakudo into your Techniques and basics of Hakuto. Do note however, that there is seldom enough time during a combat to carry out handmotions, as such, only incantationless or motionless Hadou/Bakudo can be melded.

    Sealed Doors and Dragoncrests are disciplines particularly suited to Melding due to their nature of either stopping the opponent dead in his tracks, or grasping him to leave him open for attacks. (For instance, a Ducking Claw (duck under the strike, grab the forearm with your offhand) into a Hainawa to seal you and your opponent together, or a Dual Bone into a First Break where the first break impacts together with a Shakkahou).


    Disciplines:
    - A gathering of more advanced techniques, note however, that these are not specific styles of combat, for only a single discipline will not win you a combat, even if you rely upon it. The disciplines compliment eachother and techniques from them can be chained together into an unstoppable string of attacks.

    The disciplines include the Dragon Crests, techniques that go from a strike (palm, clawed or closed) into a hold, often followed up by further strikes. The Ninth Claw is also part of the Dragon Crests, a technique in which Melding and Reijutsu is included to a great degree, for the fingertips of the wielder seem to start to bleed a reiatsu based fire, escalating the pure force behind the punches as well as searing flesh, however, even with expert Reijutsu, this technique will leave burns on the fingers and hands of its wielders.

    Another Discipline would be the Bones of Earth, powerful, harshly Reiruko enhanced strikes and kicks which rely on single strikes to bring down the enemy rather than a flurry of them. The Single Bone is a strike emenating from the hip, curving upward slightly, often aiming for, or just below, the lower ribs of a human enemy. This strike is carried out with an enmormous tension in the body, but can transition, should it fail, into a dual bone by releasing the arm to the side and taking a step forward with the other foot, this allows for a Single Bone strike with the previous off hand, whilst the hand that just struck the enemy passes in an arch from its outstretched position, past the head of the wielder, forming the dual bone. By then turning the body around, only briefly turning your back against the opponent before the arms that have been spun around by the motion connects, one transitions into the First Break, where the two outstretched and reiroku enhanced fists will slam into the enemy.

    The First Break can also be done from a resting position, by striking one hand from the (opposite of the hand) temple onto the face of the enemy, whilst the other hand carries out a Single Bone strike, this is also a First Break.

    Another defining discipline would be the Sealed Doors, this involves complete stops of ongoing enemy attacks. One example would be the "Lock and Key", in which the enemy strike is stopped dead on through catching the fist and leading the force through your body and into the the ground rather than attempting to face it with equal power. Note however, that many of the Sealed Doors resemble innitiations into Dragon Crests.

    More disciplines to come.


    The Third Sphere



    Windfighting:
    - Still under development, specific name for the type of air to air hand to hand that was carried out between Soifon and Yoruichi. Figured it needed such high amount of skill and was so specialised so as to put it in the third sphere, however, it might be a second sphere level.


    Ken tai te:
    - Unarmed combat against armed opponets. Although the basics are taught within the Taijutsu (physical training) of the First Sphere, ken tai te upps the level. Unlike the basic defenses, Ken Tai Te is not intended as a fallback, but rather as a fully viable option to battling an armed person. The discipline involves blocking of blades (by blocking the hilt, wrists or striking the side of the blade) as well as throws, controlling the opponent, disarms, and even counter strikes to prevent the opponent from utilising his weapon.


    Menosudo, path of the Gillian:
    - Under development. Unarmed combat against Gillian.

    Shunko:
    - Requires a full understanding of Melding and high skills within the Second and third sphere, the pinnacle of the Third Sphere, but not a transcendance of it.



    Note that a LOT of this is still under production, even if I fleshed quite a bit of it out as I typed. Any and all feedback, opinions and thoughts are welcome to help the creation of Hakuto ITP.

    Ai is easily recognizable as a member of 12th Division. It would be difficult to place Ai's age by appearance beyond being vaguely youngish looking. Her face is unlined due to her infrequency in smiling, furring her brow, or indulging in facial expressions in general. She has wide, staring eyes, it's to be noted that she hasn't blinked with them in over a hundred years. While the previous is interesting and noticeable after close examination, most would be more immediately drawn to her light mauve complexion. Less immediately, Ai has matching circular markings on her cheek that are a much deeper shade of the colour. Her hair is an off pink that may have been a pale yellow at some point and is cut short to exactly one inch all around. Over her Shinigami uniform she almost always wears the standard lab coat of the 12th. Ai wears a skull cap on her head that appears to be made of coiled copper. Her hands are bare save for copper bits covering where her finger tips would be, there is also something resembling a large marble imbeded in her left wrist on the palm side. Should someone be drawn to Ai's feet they would see that they are slightly narrower and seem abnormally long. Ai has an extremely stiff bearing, her movements are forced and awkward. When looking at Ai, Zanpakuto not be noticed immediately. From the back or side, one my see the sword hilt behind her head, from the hilt's angle the blade itself appears to be stuck in her spine..

    Ai's life revolves around her work in the 12th division. In her hundreds of years of life she refrained from involving herself in anything unrelated her division duties or her own individual contributions in it. In matters concerning the 12th Ai speaks and acts in a brisk and steely manner, she keeps herself aloof. As the above states this means she almost always speaks and acts in a brisk and steely manner, and keeps herself aloof. In recent times Ai has become aware that she is completely socially inept. Her inability to cope with casual interactions or in making connections with her fellow shinigami has started to trouble her. Ai had begun taking steps to remedy this with careful research into social stratagems, So far it's not going well. She's also attempting to secretly smuggle self help books from the mortal world.

    Contrary to what her appearance and what the above suggests, Ai is more then a block of wood. While outwardly this is the case, deep deep inside that grainy layer is a personality. Ai is proud, she thinks highly of herself and of her achievements within the division. Criticism frustrates her as as does anything that restricts her creative process. As Ai's own research was almost always high risk and experimental, she's none to fond of the existing safety measures that greatly inhibit her. It is Ai's belief that there is nothing that can't be improved upon. While understanding the nature of things is fine, it's only the foundation to higher things in Ai's mind. Ai has gone so far as to literally apply this outlook to herself. She has very little in the way of reservations about forcing it on others, if she could only have the chance!

    Ai's history is shrouded in mystery and hearsay... among the interns at least, talking about the strange purple person is always a popular topic.

    Ai is likely the last scion of her clan, a clan she has little intention of continuing. Her clan is hardly a prominent one in the Soul Society, but since the founding of the 12th Division, the clan had always held a firm place in the division's registry. Ai was raised with all expectation of joining the 12th and obviously she had. Initially admitted as an intern, under the tutorage and direction of her fellow Soutens within the division, Ai proved to be a promising young prodigy. upon gaining full membership within the 12th, Ai became a rising star in it's ranks, she would often be trusted with critical tasks in various projects.

    Ai came to a degree of notoriety some years later when she finally earned the opportunity carry out her own experiments. Ai's specialty was Reiatsu manipulation, and it became the base of nearly all her future experiments. Ai had long regarded Reiatsu as "waisted energy," constantly leaking out of ones body, very little of it was being put into practical use in her eyes. Her most ambitious endeavour ever was the creation of devices that would redirect Reiatsu internally, using it to power countless other devices inside a subjects body. many within her division were skeptical of her theory but after several attempts she achieved success and felt most assured that it would redefine the soul society for all time! Much to her Chagrin, the Captain seemed to dwell on her first two attempts. The first subject was unfortunately drained of all spiritual power and was forced into retirement, the second had exploded, but his sacrifice had given Ai the idea to include something like a surge protector. The third was perfectly successful, however his Reiatsu had been too weak for it to be of much use regardless. Ai was ultimately banned from continuing with this work to her extreme surprise. Despite the ban, she was stubbornly set on proving the practical application of her work; Ai was forced to use herself as she had little other choice in test subjects. She succeeded of course and spent the years since tinkering with and improving her augmentations. Whatever she made discoveries that interested others in the 12th, she was insistent that original experiment was a necessary component in it, and it usually was. The above only consisted of her personal pursuits, she still adamantly carried out her division duties and played her roles in what work was assigned to her. Despite past transactions, she continued to rise within the division through her consistency in excellence and her obsession with update and progress reports. She still nurses her injured pride and often falls into bitterness but she's not about that get in the way her duty just yet.

    As stated in her backstory, Ai has spent almost 200 years tinkering with her own body, she's been very productive with her time. Ai's modifications aren't nessesarily limited to those listed beflow, these are her standard fare and it's hardly beyond her to devise new ones at a later date.

    Reiatsu channelling device:
    Just as the name implies, Ai has implanted devices that redirect her Reiatsu internally. Her Reiatsu is for practical reasons infused in her blood and is carried along all through her body (thus explaining her queer complexion). Her very special blood passes through a varied selection of inventions also by Ai, these items draw the spirit power from her blood and are thus powered. over time Ai discovered additional effects caused by the implants. Ai's nerves sense of touch have long been deadened by the flow of Reiatsu, aside from occasional twitching she's almost entirely incapable of involuntary movement. Much of her actions are carried out on a conscious level, any form of bodily expression is forced and done only out of courtesy for others. On that not she's mostly immune to pain and would only notice being cut when she feels her Reiatsu leaking out. on the subject of wounding, Ai has had quite a long time to examine the complex flow of her spiritual energy through her veins. Ai can now manipulate her super infused Reiatsu blood, similar to how other Shinigami make use of theirs. Ai may stop and harden her blood similar to an extremely powerful Hierro, only under the skin ...of course Ai has to stop her blood to actually do this. Ai may also force her blood to continue to flow where it would normally go even with a sizable gash, this is almost entirely unconscious, it would stop wounds from bleeding although it would be a bit much to expect the blood to through through where an entire arm used to be.

    Strength enhancers: A number of Shinigami enhance their strength with their spiritual power. Ai also does this, although she's among the extreme end of this collection. She mostly uses this for lifting heavy apparatuses.

    Multi-jointed:
    Ai, with patience and care, has made herself absurdly flexible. It's quite disturbing to look at when she displays it, one would also expect it to be damn hard to trap her in a hold. This is not reliant on her spiritual energy.

    Eye Enhancement:
    She hasn't truly enhanced her eyes rather encased them in special protective lens'. Over time she played with them to enhance her sight but refrained from tinkering to much as a matter of pride (She makes a point of avoiding the Captain's inventions whenever she can due to past injuries). She also doesn't need to blink anymore, very efficient.

    Finger Tools:
    The metal tips of her fingers are there to ensure she has essential equipment always on hand haha. The left hand bits slide open to reveal several generic tools, she routinely changes them. The right hand has a more permanent selection of Reiatsu powered lasers (To the enthusiastic approval of her Captain). They serve all manner of functions where lasers are appropriate and some where they aren't! For combat application, Ai must straighten her arm out to link up additional charged implants along her arm.

    Soul phone/holo projector:
    Rather complicated sounding, but essentially the phone is part of her hand and works much like this. The projector takes the form of the large marble in her wrist, it can display a similar if more advanced version of the Soul phone's hollow radar. The projector may also display other information for practical usage in the labs.

    Wheeled feet:
    Yes, as the title states, Ai has wheeled feet. One of the strangest and a personal favourite invention of Ai herself. it starts off with her oddly narrow feet, she actually has only three enlarged toes to each, something she regards as important in this. Her "big toe" has copper plate for a nail, the plate isn't so much a plate as an extending band. The band would extend in a snap to form a wide ring that goes into her heel. Once the rings are complete, she rolls around with dexterous ease upon them. With them she moves with obscene speed and can switch directions with minimal loss of momentum. She may also airwalk, or rather roll with them, when doing so they gather violet sparks. For some reason Ai can't fathom, they have yet to catch on in Seireitei.

    Yes, Ai the scientist is no stranger to the mysteries of connecting the fist the ever vulnerable face. Her interest in it began some hundreds of years ago where she took serious injuries, she's since resolved never to be caught flat footed again. She's very well versed in the techniques and, combined with her Reiatsu enhanced resilience and strength (not to mention her flexibility), she is very formidable.

    Zanjutsu:
    It is assumed that she is not the most proficient of sword users as she has opted to keep the thing embedded in her spine. She can actually unsheath the thing but, unsurprisingly, her technique is not a fine example of the Soul Society's noble art.

    Kido:
    With a clear voice, an unmatched memory, and excellent control of both Reiatsu and Reiryoku, Ai is a poor practitioner of Kido. Of course for one so talented and having all the right qualities it was a physical effort to be so bad at it. Ai really dislikes Kido and has nothing but contempt for those incense huffing mystics. That isn't to say Ai didn't study enough to grasp the useful bits regarding Reiryoku manipulation and other useful tidbits that can be gleaned in that arcane dribble for her research. Ai can actually use some Kido spells, although only ones she managed to convert to proper scientific calculations over those absurd mantras. She hasn't given much time to it so she only as access to the least of Bakudo and Hado. She can't use any without the words.

    Ai's Zanpakuto is more likely the length of a Kodachi or wakizashi over a katana given that Ai doesn't have a small metal blade sticking out much like a tail. the hilt looks fairly standard with the bindings a dark violet colour to match the rest of her.

    ..Is hardly important, it's not like you'll be seeing it. it's probably lightningy or something..

    Shikai: "Connect, Saki"
    In Shikai, Ai's zanpakuto transforms into a plain metal pike with a copper sheen, her appearance is amusing reminiscent of a bumper car given it's still stuck in her spine. The pike serves much like a spiritual conductor, drawing spiritual energy from that is expelled from others, and collects enough to send it back in the form of bolts of energy at her unfortunate foes.

    Ai doesn't use it for this though, instead she jerry-rigged the sword (much to it's indignity) to provide herself with additional spiritual power. Ai becomes rather giddy with the power boost, she quite literally trembles with power. special spiritual surge guards would begin to kick in at this point to keep her from overloading which would be followed with dying. The guards can be manipulated manually from an area somewhere on her body.

    Bankai:
    Ai has not achieved Bankai, she doesn't seem to think much about it..

    ...I can feel the critical backlash in my bones already, probably spearheaded by a biology major. Also I've touched up personality and such in my other characters, well I will in a moment anyway.

    Also another thing.Ahhhhhhh... this is sort of like what I was intending, sort of, well actually not really, no.

    Blackmarket in Los Noches is kind of redundant if you think about it but I was thinking of a market bazaar area too. Also while not really slaves, lesser hollows would be captured and brought there for sale, presumably to be eaten. I like to think of it as the nicest place in Los Noches, for non hollows at least, possibly excluding Mei's area for the first couple of hours.

    Ai is easily recognizable as a member of 12th Division. It would be difficult to place Ai's age by appearance beyond being vaguely youngish looking. Her face is unlined due to her infrequency in smiling, furring her brow, or indulging in facial expressions in general. She has wide, staring eyes, it's to be noted that she hasn't blinked with them in over a hundred years. While the previous is interesting and noticeable after close examination, most would be more immediately drawn to her light mauve complexion. Less immediately, Ai has matching circular markings on her cheek that are a much deeper shade of the colour. Her hair is an off pink that may have been a pale yellow at some point and is cut short to exactly one inch all around. Over her Shinigami uniform she almost always wears the standard lab coat of the 12th. Ai wears a skull cap on her head that appears to be made of coiled copper. Her hands are bare save for copper bits covering where her finger tips would be, there is also something resembling a large marble imbeded in her left wrist on the palm side. Should someone be drawn to Ai's feet they would see that they are slightly narrower and seem abnormally long. Ai has an extremely stiff bearing, her movements are forced and awkward. When looking at Ai, Zanpakuto not be noticed immediately. From the back or side, one my see the sword hilt behind her head, from the hilt's angle the blade itself appears to be stuck in her spine..

    Ai's life revolves around her work in the 12th division. In her hundreds of years of life she refrained from involving herself in anything unrelated her division duties or her own individual contributions in it. In matters concerning the 12th Ai speaks and acts in a brisk and steely manner, she keeps herself aloof. As the above states this means she almost always speaks and acts in a brisk and steely manner, and keeps herself aloof. In recent times Ai has become aware that she is completely socially inept. Her inability to cope with casual interactions or in making connections with her fellow shinigami has started to trouble her. Ai had begun taking steps to remedy this with careful research into social stratagems, So far it's not going well. She's also attempting to secretly smuggle self help books from the mortal world.

    Contrary to what her appearance and what the above suggests, Ai is more then a block of wood. While outwardly this is the case, deep deep inside that grainy layer is a personality. Ai is proud, she thinks highly of herself and of her achievements within the division. Criticism frustrates her as as does anything that restricts her creative process. As Ai's own research was almost always high risk and experimental, she's none to fond of the existing safety measures that greatly inhibit her. It is Ai's belief that there is nothing that can't be improved upon. While understanding the nature of things is fine, it's only the foundation to higher things in Ai's mind. Ai has gone so far as to literally apply this outlook to herself. She has very little in the way of reservations about forcing it on others, if she could only have the chance!

    Ai's history is shrouded in mystery and hearsay... among the interns at least, talking about the strange purple person is always a popular topic.

    Ai is likely the last scion of her clan, a clan she has little intention of continuing. Her clan is hardly a prominent one in the Soul Society, but since the founding of the 12th Division, the clan had always held a firm place in the division's registry. Ai was raised with all expectation of joining the 12th and obviously she had. Initially admitted as an intern, under the tutorage and direction of her fellow Soutens within the division, Ai proved to be a promising young prodigy. upon gaining full membership within the 12th, Ai became a rising star in it's ranks, she would often be trusted with critical tasks in various projects.

    The first black mark on Ai's career came on a day like any other day. A prominent scientist within the 12th and head of the meagre Souten clan had in mind a project that he assured would redefine the soul society for all time. The exact nature of the project has been struck from the records but Ai herself was granted a vital role in monitoring stability in the experiment. Some short days after the initial success The Souten elder was struck dead and she herself was severely injured. In the aftermath, the Captain cracked down on the the involved parties. Her comrades attemped to slot blame onto her (one of the scapegoaters was actually family if you could imagine..) she stated in her defence that she was completely successful in her duty as the experiment technically remained stable and that, if anywhere, the flaw would be in the theory itself. In the end, Ai managed to evade blame for the incident but at the cost of estranging her colleagues.

    Ai came to a degree of notoriety some years later when she finally earned the opportunity carry out her own experiments. Ai's specialty was Reiatsu manipulation, and it became the base of nearly all her future experiments. Ai had long regarded Reiatsu as "waisted energy," constantly leaking out of ones body, very little of it was being put into practical use in her eyes. Her most ambitious endeavour ever was the creation of devices that would redirect Reiatsu internally, using it to power countless other devices inside a subjects body. many within her division were skeptical of her theory but after several attempts she achieved success and felt most assured that it would redefine the soul society for all time! Much to her Chagrin, the Captain seemed to dwell on her first two attempts. The first subject was unfortunately drained of all spiritual power and was forced into retirement, the second had exploded, but his sacrifice had given Ai the idea to include something like a surge protector. The third was perfectly successful, however his Reiatsu had been too weak for it to be of much use regardless. Ai was ultimately banned from continuing with this work to her extreme surprise. Despite the ban, she was stubbornly set on proving the practical application of her work; Ai was forced to use herself as she had little other choice in test subjects. She succeeded of course and spent the years since tinkering with and improving her augmentations. Whatever she made discoveries that interested others in the 12th, she was insistent that original experiment was a necessary component in it, and it usually was. The above only consisted of her personal pursuits, she still adamantly carried out her division duties and played her roles in what work was assigned to her. Despite past transactions, she continued to rise within the division through her consistency in excellence and her obsession with update and progress reports. She still nurses her injured pride and often falls into bitterness but she's not about that get in the way her duty just yet.

    As stated in her backstory, Ai has spent almost 200 years tinkering with her own body, she's been very productive with her time. Ai's modifications aren't nessesarily limited to those listed beflow, these are her standard fare and it's hardly beyond her to devise new ones at a later date.

    Reiatsu channelling device:
    Just as the name implies, Ai has implanted devices that redirect her Reiatsu internally. Her Reiatsu is for practical reasons infused in her blood and is carried along all through her body (thus explaining her queer complexion). Her very special blood passes through a varied selection of inventions also by Ai, these items draw the spirit power from her blood and are thus powered. over time Ai discovered additional effects caused by the implants. Ai's nerves sense of touch have long been deadened by the flow of Reiatsu, aside from occasional twitching she's almost entirely incapable of involuntary movement. Much of her actions are carried out on a conscious level, any form of bodily expression is forced and done only out of courtesy for others. On that not she's mostly immune to pain and would only notice being cut when she feels her Reiatsu leaking out. on the subject of wounding, Ai has had quite a long time to examine the complex flow of her spiritual energy through her veins. Ai can now manipulate her super infused Reiatsu blood, similar to how other Shinigami make use of theirs. Ai may stop and harden her blood similar to an extremely powerful Hierro, only under the skin ...of course Ai has to stop her blood to actually do this. Ai may also force her blood to continue to flow where it would normally go even with a sizable gash, this is almost entirely unconscious, it would stop wounds from bleeding although it would be a bit much to expect the blood to through through where an entire arm used to be.

    Strength enhancers: A number of Shinigami enhance their strength with their spiritual power. Ai also does this, although she's among the extreme end of this collection. She mostly uses this for lifting heavy apparatuses.

    Multi-jointed:
    Ai, with patience and care, has made herself absurdly flexible. It's quite disturbing to look at when she displays it, one would also expect it to be damn hard to trap her in a hold. This is not reliant on her spiritual energy.

    Eye Enhancement:
    She hasn't truly enhanced her eyes rather encased them in special protective lens'. Over time she played with them to enhance her sight but refrained from tinkering to much as a matter of pride (She makes a point of avoiding the Captain's inventions whenever she can due to past injuries). She also doesn't need to blink anymore, very efficient.

    Finger Tools:
    The metal tips of her fingers are there to ensure she has essential equipment always on hand haha. The left hand bits slide open to reveal several generic tools, she routinely changes them. The right hand has a more permanent selection of Reiatsu powered lasers (To the enthusiastic approval of her Captain). They serve all manner of functions where lasers are appropriate and some where they aren't! For combat application, Ai must straighten her arm out to link up additional charged implants along her arm.

    Soul phone/holo projector:
    Rather complicated sounding, but essentially the phone is part of her hand and works much like this. The projector takes the form of the large marble in her wrist, it can display a similar if more advanced version of the Soul phone's hollow radar. The projector may also display other information for practical usage in the labs.

    First, that's significantly creepy. Fits 12th to a tee. Well, more Mayuri style than what it is now. But I like it.

    Second, yeah it was just an idea I was thinking about. Although the slaves part would work for being eaten. I'm also thinking of having a forced deathmatch between slaves. Underground fight pits!

    The mindless NPCs Students get the Hollows who me and F_F will probably RP for, if the student is a PLAYER CHARACTER, Karite gets the Gillian, and Hannibal will be infected by Sereg.

    Yeah that sounds about right.

    Thats what I was going for, because a pig pile on Sereg would end in a very different way, especially with Karite and Hannibal. Anyone not busy wanna play some hollows?

    Hannibal will beat Sereg back, but will be left severely injured. He's then carted off to receive treatment, and they decide it's a good time to try one of 12th's bright ideas. All is well... for a while. Then plot happens.
