Vrishma's eyes bulge slightly and he begins to intone a prayer as he eyes the creature warily.

Initiative = 12

((I presume the creature is relatively close and will be affected, if not he will wait) He sees that the others are already itching for combat, and tries to clear his mind and allow the spirits to fill him with their fury. To help on the way, he calls out to them, asking for their vengeance and protection. At the end of the incantation, he whips his mace around his head and plunges it into the shallow water at the beach for the energy to disperse more fully.

((Casts Prayer: everyone in 40 feet gets +1 to attack and damage rolls, saves and skill checks. Except for big and ugly, who gets -1 to the same.))

((He doesn't think that he can give good advice to the water elementals at the moment - if anything they know how to fight in the water - and doesn't feel like exercising his tactical skills either. He will leave them be, at the moment.)

He springs to his feet, and makes a move action to move 30ft to the river, if he can he moves right up next to the enemy.

((It'll take you another turn to get within range of the giant thing, Ozzy. Ikeira, you cast the spell and 3 fire shuriken spring forth in your hands. All of them must be directed at the same target. You can take your other action and move or throw all three at the plant like thing. Just go ahead and make the attack rolls with them. You are considered proficient with the shuriken, so you don't take any penalty with them.))

The one elemental misses, while the other deals some damage to the monstrosity. Chion shears some of the plant material off of the thing and falls with a plop into the water, where it remains motionless.

All three shurikens hit and there is a sort of hideous shriek/bellow from the monster, as the area that was hit begins to catch on fire from the shurikens.

The vines were, but then the vines were damaged and the actual creature (large in size) emerged from the river and is sort of sitting in it. It is above the surface.

Vrishma takes out his sling, puts a bullet and with a loud "Hoot!" launches it towards the creature. ((By the way, I hope the noise will attract Shimikawa eventually, but he's not calling her specifically yet. Anyway, can any check help with identifying this creep and what works against it?))

As far as you can tell, Shimikawa isn't around as of yet. V's attack goes wide of the target.

((I'd rather not. As per OA, Knowledge Nature isn't even a class skill. Neither is Handle animal, strangely enough. I need to find that Dragon OA update article to see if they changed it. Oh well, looks like V is going go get down and dirty with the Big Creepy))
